Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

How crazy are the pre-park opening breakfasts? Is it a madhouse, with everyone rushing out the door at the same time to do whatever the hot attraction is? Tell me it's going to be ok!

For us, the reason we ended up with so many snacks and extra quick service credits was because our little kids just couldn't eat all that food. Also, we often ended up sharing (especially the aforementioned children) so that saved up our credits, even when we didn't mean to. Another thing that happened was that our youngest came down with a bad cold near the end of the trip and so dh stayed behind with her and one of our other kids while the two teens and I went to a park. That severely cut back on what credits were used that day. We had over 20 snack credits (either from snacks or from breaking quick service credits down to 3 snacks just to get them used up) to use! We also ended up leaving 3 table service credits unused. I think it's harder the longer your trip is, also, combined with the more people you have. With 6 people and 8 nights, we'll have 48 snack credits to use up over the course of our trip!

Holy snacks!! If you need someone to take a few off your hands I'd be happy to help :P

I have to say this once: For some crazy reason, the Early Morning Magic sounds way better to me and less stressful than trying to get to MK for a pre-park opening breakfast. I think it's the fact that we would have paid the whole thing in advance, so no one will "get in trouble" if we miss it. It's totally just my personality, but yeah, I'd rather do EMM even though we would have to pay out of pocket and it's more expensive.

BOG was surprisingly relaxed for breakfast. I honestly didnt think many people even realized you could leave the restaurant and go to the Mine Train. We finished about 15 min before rope drop and there were maybe 20 people in line waiting for 7DMT. DH and I each got to ride it with the 6yo, and they gave us a baby swap pass too. Score!

I intend to do better this time! Last time it was "Oh, we'll just get one cronut so we can each have a taste." This time it will be "You get a cronut! And you get a cronut! Everyone gets a cronut!" :rotfl:

this made me actually LOL. Love it!

Also, I am so getting a cronut this year. And a macaron. I got alomst nothing good at Epcot last year because it poured most of the day and we were stuck in the seas with nemo!

However we did share a carrot cake cookie from writers stop, and that was silly. Cookies for everyone!

We were there for F&W and I had big plans to use snack credits at all the kiosks, but we were too full from our TS meals! Plus the kids didn't stand still long enough for me to read the menus...

I was so pumped for F&W. And we got nothing. NADA. Dinner at Biergarten, which was good. But really wanted to use snacks at F&W. Damn rain and uncooperative kids.

The stocking stuffer idea is super cute and I definitely can see the appeal of stopping on Main Street for goodies for the ride home. I was initially thinking of using multiple TS credits for character breakfasts, but it definitely would be easier to do breakfast in room than other meals, maybe I need to revise that thought and save TS for more dinner. Thank goodness I have another month to plan dining!

Tusker House breakfast was one of our favorite meals! What character lunch/dinner does everyone like?

We did tusker house dinner and enjoyed it, but I didn't think the food was spectacular. Especially since we had already eaten at Boma 2 days before. The character interaction was awesome though! That was our only character meal.

We liked Tusker House, too! We had an early lunch there. Very fun! Daisy was DD's favorite at the time so it was cute to see them meet. That was the only character lunch/dinner we did, the other character meals were late breakfasts ('Ohana, CRT, and Chef Mickey).

What did you think of chef mickeys?

I think we will try for a resort dinner along the monorail on one of our MK days when the park closes early for the Christmas party...DH *realllllllly* wants to do Boma again but the transportation was a pain without a car. He will have to deal with just having Ohana again. #firstworldproblems

We're planning to do Whispering Canyon on our MK day when we don't go to the party. We did 'Ohana last time, so we're ready to try something different. Can't wait to try the AYCTE skillet!

Oh I forgot about WC! We almost booked there last year but went with Boma...thanks for reminding me! I'll have to check into it too.

My hope is to schedule it for around 6:30, so we can consider going to another park afterward if we're still up for fun. Otherwise we'll just take the boat back to MK and the bus to our resort from there. I'm all about flexibility!

My favorite character meal is 1900 park fare dinner. The character interaction is the best. My youngest was in love with Prince charming and he danced with her (she wasn't walking fully yet, so he helped and supported her). It was one of the highlights of our trip. Plus we all know great Lady Tremaine Is.
