Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

Need help prioritizing what to try to book first on my FP booking day next wed. What do you think?

FEA on 12/1 starting around 12:30 pm (party of 5)

7DMT on 11/28 monday evening, non party night but the day after my arrival day. Wanting 7pm (party of 3)

7DMT on 11/29 tuesday evening before party starts but after party guests arrive (I'm not attending the party) wanting 4pm (party of 5)

I'm thinking FEA as we only have a couple hours we can fit it in that day and it's a large party...however it's later in my week.

We'll be there all day that day! And by all day I mean for about 11 hours... Oh god what am I thinking?!

We have a few long days. Yesterday, I was trying to look at our schedule more realistically and provide 10-11 hours from leaving a at park at night to arrival the next day.
We arr there for 10 days and I don't want to come home a zombie.

I was working along just fine on getting my fastpasses all figured out and then something blew everything up (can't even remember right now what that was -- oh yeah, the revelation that ROL looks much more likely for our trip now) and now I'm not sure at all! I bet I'm closer than I think though. I just need to get through this weekend and then I can sit down and figure it all out by next Tuesday (just in case I can book early) or Thursday for sure.

I know!!! The struggle is real.... I also thought what if we love ROL should I be prepared to see it on two nights!?!?

I really hope that FP opens with our RO night on 9/27 and not the package on 9/28.

FEA for sure! And you'll be lucky to get it around 12:30 since fastpasses for FEA don't even begin until 11 (ride is standby only from 9-11).

Well, fwiw, my TA says all of her clients that go during Thanksgiving week want to leave on Saturday so they have Sunday to readjust before heading back to work/school on Monday. I know there are exceptions, but I do think wdw will empty out a bit by Saturday night. It'll probably still be quite crowded, but less so Saturday night than Saturday morning. Also, I would expect MK to be the really crowded place Saturday, Epcot 2nd most crowded, and then AK and DHS would be the least crowded. Epcot will be crowded because all of the Christmas stuff begins on Friday of that week, so everyone who was there over Thanksgiving will try to hit Epcot on either Friday or Saturday (or both) to cram in some of that before they head home. MK is just always crowded on Saturdays and a lot of people like to have that be their last park before they leave so there's that. Also, Sunday will be a party day, so Saturday becomes the last chance for some to catch Wishes even if they aren't leaving until Monday. Not that I know what I'm talking about, but that's how I would think through your scenario.

All these points are super helpful and make me feel better about braving the crowds on Saturday! Thank you for this input!

I think your plan sounds good - yes it will be busy on Saturday but if you plan accordingly and can get there early enough to stake a spot it should be doable.

I really hope it's unseasonably dry for our trip - I'm fine with rain but kids and a wet stroller and all that entails is miserable for all!

I'm trying to fit in some spontaneity but my backup plans have backup plans! And fingers crossed for some drier weather than my last trip. All of our pictures were in ponchos

They were extended to 7 PM recently.

Thanks all! For those booking FP before next Wednesday could you let us know how it goes esp for FEA? I think I'm going to have to use the wifi at the local mcdonalds because my Internet is slow here at home. I had issues with it when booking Adrs.

I totally just tried to change our check in date to Thanksgiving so we could get our FP a day earlier. The conference rooms are booked for that day. Looks like I'm sticking with my original FP selection date. It was worth a try though.

In this order - and have a plan for in case you get an afternoon FEA. Thy don't start until 11am so you may not get one that early

I found myself with 4 hours to kill an hour from home. Came here to work (running a flu clinic for a big business) and the coworker had to go do some car repairs during our break between clinics. I wandered around Walmart, found a $200 electric skateboard for $39 (my oldest is so spoiled - but for that price it will make a great 8th bday gift ) and am now sitting at a diner having coffee and breakfast. Alone. Weird and awesome at the same time.

Next up - I see a Kohl's and a gap outlet across the street. So much for the money I'll make today working

yes!! i'm getting kind of stressed about it. Since we are doing EMM I'm not too worked up over MK FP. DD is too small for big thunder mountain, splash mountain & space mountain. Dumbo has the play area so even if its a longer wait she gets to get energy out. She loves the carousel so thats easy. Plus we have 3 days there so hopefully we will be able to get a lot knocked out. I didn't even know that Ariel had a ride in MK last year. lol.

HS/AK aren't that big of a deal. I feel like safari wont be hard to get some sort of FP even on Saturday after Thanksgiving? The theme is same. She's too small for Dinosaur and Everest. We skipped Toy Story last year bc of time but would like to hit it, great movie ride and indiana jones this year. I'm still just frustrated over the Fantansmic/Star Wars on same night debacle. I'm not going to HS 2 days just to hit both.

My priority will be FEA. DD is too small for soarin. Last year we had a fp but didn't use it. Not sure I would give up FEA for it this year.

I love Hanna Andersson clothing. I don't buy unless a good deal though. They came out with a Disney collection this past winter. I have slowly been accumulating DD Disney wardrobe. I got Ts for $15, a mickey sweatshirt for $20 & Minnie rash guard $12. I bought her a 100cm which she will fit into for well over a year and they launder well so I consider it a deal. They don't have a huge selection left but I noticed last night that they have their Christmas PJs available now. They are full price but I'm keeping my eye out for them to go on sale. I get her a pair of Christmas PJs for Christmas Eve anyways. Thinking she could wear the top to MVMCP!

I just saw this in my WDWPrepschool email. Hopefully there's some Muppets fans out there! At least it's good to finally get some news of something being added instead of removed.

• Disney Parks Blog just announced this morning that “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History" will begin at Magic Kingdom on October 2. The show will take place several times a day just outside the Hall of Presidents and feature Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and The Great Gonzo recounting the story of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

My Fastpass day is Sunday, I'm sitting here at work staring at my spreadsheet trying to make sure I have a good order to make them. I am worried about Fasstpass availability on Thanksgiving Day, we are doing MK that day. It will be nice to get them taken care of, at least till Star Wars fireworks and ROL is announced, if it is.

My FP day is Tuesday, hopefully there's some scraps left for me! I apparently don't have enough back-up plans, lol. My biggest worry is not getting FEA. Hopefully everything else will fall into place. I'm not sure what to do for our 3rd FP in AK - how scary is Dinosaur, exactly? My daughter doesn't like things that are intentional frightening - she hated Haunted Mansion, so Dinosaur is probably not for us, hey.

I'm getting together tomorrow with my friend who is going the same week to discuss plans. I suppose I really need to examine what we will do in case of rain. I'm leaving AK until our last day so there's no back up plan there - and when we went last time it poured our whole AK day. That would suck if it happened again.

My ds14 (at the time) told me under NO circumstances was I allowed to take his little brother and sister on that ride after he had ridden it! lol I plan to ride it this time to evaluate for myself if I think it would be too scary for them, but until I get a chance to do that, they won't be riding it.

Is it pretty much a given if you have a PPO BOG and you get done eating early enough you will be able to ride 7DMT? It's an EMM day if that makes a difference.

What about a PPO BBB, do they drop the rope early enough to beat the crowd? Our BBB reservation isn't until 8:15, I suppose if we're standing at that rope past the castle and we make a beeline to something we should be able to find at least one short ride.

Last time I got in trouble because we were waiting at that internal rope (I don't remember if it was even a rope, might have just been some CMs standing there and telling us not to go) after DD's BBB, right between the castle and the carousel, and my 2-year-old bolted towards Fantasyland before it was time. The CMs were not happy, lol. I tried to dash after him and slipped in a puddle of water, right on my butt. Good times.
