We are back from our trip that we surprised the kids with on Christmas morning. The kids were so surprised and excited to leave for Disneyland on Christmas Day!

Here's my trip report- we were in the parks with 5 day hoppers from 12/26-12/30.

HOTEL- we usually stay at the HOJO, but the room we like was booked so we stayed at the embassy suites south. We were told the shuttle was free, it was NOT. It was $27/day for our family of 5. Also, this is the only hotel in all my travels that actually charges $100/day on your card for incidentals. That wasn't disclosed either. The buffet cooked to order breakfast was good, long lines though. On 4 of our 6 days we didn't have any hot water for showers. Only cold and they couldn't tell us when it wouldn't be on. Also, the customer service for simple accommodations such as extra pillows was awful. And if you stay there try to stay on the 2-5th floors or you'll spend a lot of time waiting on the elevators. We were on the 12th of 13 floors and spent 10-15 minutes a time. Cruise ship elevators were faster. Also it was two double beds, which I think were SMALLER than a standard double
And the shuttle was never at the times they said.

Parks-
My middle child has a sensory processing disorder that causes her to pull out her hair and she has a shaved head. with the crazy crowds, it was overwhelming her. So I actually went to city hall with her medical diagnosis and chart and asked if there was an accommodation they could make and they were so accommodating offering her an assistance pass so we were able to reserve rides for the current wait time and return when that time waiting was up. This was a GOD send for her anxiety and sensory overload. Having said that, that pass allowed us to do more than we probably would have so the list of attractions we did isn't applicable to most people.

Security-/crowds
Monday 12.26 took 35 min CROWDED but not unbearable
Tuesday 12/27 took 45 min CROWDED but not unbareable
Wednesday 12/28 was the WORST and took over an hour and it was wall to wall people.
Thursday 12/29 about 45 minutes CROWDED
Friday it rained (praise god) and took 15 minutes.
Friday 12/30 was the most enjoyable day in the park with wait times beingan average of 45-60 minutes but not many locals there due to the rain. Plenty of walking space.

Photo pass- I did notice that there weren't as many photogs there and the one that were weren't very pleasant when they were approached. This was different than years past.

Characters-not many out got cut off in line lots of times due to characters needing to leave. Hard for a 5 year old to understand. Especially after waiting 30 minutes.
