When DH proposed I knew I wanted an October wedding before anything else, including a DFTW, October is my favorite month. We were married at 3:00 pm and the weather was gorgeous. It was a perfect day, not hot at all and a light breeze.
October is in hurricane season and it seems the past 2 years they hit the end of August through October most often in central Florida. We lost our power for a week in Charlie and again with two others that hit in 2004, but we got off easy compared to a lot of people. Hurricane Wilma derailed our honeymoon cruise to Mexico, but we went on one to the Bahamas so that was fine (even better actually since niether of us had ever been there).
Of course I wanted a beautiful day, but my feeling was, that's my wedding date, if there is a storm or even a hurricane, Disney is the safest place to be, they have their own power source, they will make sure I get married even if it's indoors, and getting married is the most important part. In the end it worked out perfect.
I found the Farmer's Almanac to be helpful actually, as well as
http://www.weatherunderground.com and enter "Lake Buena Vista" scroll down and you can look at historical weather for any date and get data of what the average temperatures and rain are for the day you're considering.
Best Wishes
