wedding rings

I'm going with a white gold channel set diamond band (1/2 c.) My DF wants a plain jane white gold wedding band, nothing fancy. My engagement ring is a three stone with several small channel set diamonds on the side of the center stones (three on each side). :cloud9: This way the band will fit right in. I suggest checking sites on line for an idea. Keep in mind what your engagement band is like, as some ring designs require different shaped wedding bands.

It all depends...what does your engagement ring look like?

My ring is a 3 stone emerald cut center stone is a little over 1 ct with a 1/4 on each side. Band is white gold. I do not want something that creates a glare and takes away from my center stone, just something that compliments, but at the same time I do not want a plain band.

How about a white gold band with 1/2 CT of channel set emerald cut diamonds. I think that dresses it up with drawing the attention from the "star of the show" Do possibly have a pic of it or is it listed online somewhere? I could help you post it.

I'm thinking that if you go over a 1/2 carat it will overpower your ring. If you think the whole channel set thing is overdone, or not your style you could always get a band with pave' on the sides....lemme give you an idea of what I'm talking about

This is my engagement ring, now if you look below it you'll see the side it is made to look like antique pave' work (just pointing out that you can do some inventive stuff on the sides if the whole channel set thing doesn't appeal to you)

If that's not your style you can always have some etching or filligree done. Like on the sides of my band

depends on if you will be wearing the eng. ring together with the band.
if you have the time, find a reputable jeweler to customize one to match the style of your engagement ring. They usually have a larger selection they can order from catalogues, or make it from your own design.

Shoot....I just realized something. I think that you can only do filligree with platinum. I'm allergic to real gold so I had to have platinum. I'm thinking that it has something to do with the melting temp. of the 2 metals. Can anyone tell me if I'm wrong or right about this :confused3

However, this would not stop you from getting your band in plat. no one could tell the difference between white gold and that. If you still want to go with white gold you can defintely have some pave' work done.

I'm trying to find a channel set emerald cut band for you online but everything I'm seeing is just ugly!!! A lot of it is really chunky or is a mix of yellow gold and white gold

is titanium band out of the question? White gold is just as pretty as platinum if you're not picky about the hardness and all that with platinum.

I like the antique look and did find one that I liked I can not really explnin it. I think I am going to get two bands one for each side and they kind of curve away from my ring, so there will be room for the stone.

That sounds like a good idea. There will be room for the stone as long as it is elevated some what. Most bands slip right under the stone to where you wouldn't even notice it. It all depends on how your ring is made. What is the prong setting on your stone?

There are 4 prongs (which im sure they all have), the center stone is set higher than the sides....most rings I have tried do not fit...i am looking at a super thin band with tiny diamonds that just kind of sparkle- they are very small but they accent my ring nicely
