Hi all,

I would like your (honest) opinions on a potential wedding dress. So far it is the only one I have liked enough to be going back for a second trying on session. However a very large part of me is unsure about it. It is a beautiful dress, no denying it, and I do think it suits me. My issue is that it feels more "evening gown" than "wedding gown" if that makes much sense? Everything else I've tried has been much more traditionally weddingy if you get my drift. There has been another dress I've loved but I can't find the darned thing anywhere to try on again!!! Hopefully I'll find it soon so i can compare the two.

So opinions please!

Hi Queenie,

It's stunning & beautiful and really suits your figure but I truly believe that if you have doubts then it's not the one for you.

I make wedding cakes and often find that my clients bring pictures of cakes that they kind of like the look of but when I peel back the layers and work though what they had in their minds and get a design down on paper they will often go "that's it, that's the one" and know instantly when they've found the right one.

I think that feeling should be true of anything to do with your wedding and when you find the dress of your dreams you will know it :cloud9:

Don't rush in to buying something you're not 100% sure of, your dream dress is only round the corner :bride:

Good luck :thumbsup2

I agree with Paula Jane :)

It looks lovely but, as a good friend of mine once advised, 'If in doubt, don't do it......'

I can honestly say that, whenever I've listened to this, in my head, it's been the right thing to do

It's beautiful, and you look absolutely stunning. It is definitely looks like a wedding dress, even though it's not got a full skirt. Are you planning on having a veil?

I agree with others though. I think you will know when it's right - that's not to say you won't question yourself at all, but it will just feel 'right', and not a compromise on something else you were looking for.

I would keep looking, and if you find this one sticks in your head, go back to it again. But if you can shake it out of your head pretty quickly, that's not it. Good luck :wizard:

I think you look like a beautiful bride in it! super dress.

but keep looking if you are not sure:thumbsup2

i think you look really beautiful in it

i loved my wedding dress when i got married but i hate it now......way too flouncy :rotfl2:

I love it, it really suites you and is very flattering to your figure.

Sophie, the dress isn't to my personal taste although it does look lovely on you and is very flattering. The only thing I would say is that I agree with the others who have said 'If you're not sure, don't do it'. For my wedding, I knew exactly what I wanted and so many times I nearly settled for something else when I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I am so glad I didn't because when I came across that perfect dress, it was just 'right' from the moment I tried it on and I instantly loved it. If you don't feel that way about your dress, it probably isn't the one for you.

Tell us a bit more about the other dress - do you know what designer it was or anything?

You look stunning and it is a beautiful wedding dress but if you feel any doubt it might not be 'the one'. Your off out again tody aren't you. Have lots of fun and try on a wide range of dresses even some that don't look suitable and you never know.

I remember when my best friend tried on the dress she ended up with - we all just knew. Mine was made so I just had to hope until the final fitting!

I think it's stunning, it really suits you. Remember you will also have flowers and your hair up etc. to make it more "weddingy".
But do keep looking, I know I tried on a dress I felt was really over the top and not me but I loved it on.

Your dress should make you feel like a princess!

Sophie ~ It's a beautiful dress and you look lovely in it. I agree with the others that have said if you have any doubts about it don't buy it.

The other dress is a huge saga! I tried it on at a wedding fair and loved it straight away. The shop that were demoing at the fair are a long way from here so I've been calling around trying to find it and no one has it in. I know the designer and the dress name so I've been using the list of stockists on the designer's site to attempt to find it but no luck so far in over 30 shops. One had it in but in a size 20. I called the shop from the fair and even they don't have it anymore!

Two of the shops have told me they can get one in for me from the designer but it will cost £25. That seems daft just for trying a dress on when there's no guarantee I'll buy it.

This dress is beautiful, but if you are unsure I would keep looking. The first time I put my wedding dress on I knew it was the right one.

I think the dress is lovely Sophie, and you look beautiful, but as everyone else has said, you need to be happy in the dress you choose for your wedding day

I think its a lovely dress but I also think if it was right for you you wouldn't have any doubts at all. I can remember trying my dress on and thinking 'thats the one' immediately.

Crazy! Having said that it might be worth it just to rule it out or decide it's the one you want! Otherwise you might always wonder. :confused3

You look lovely in the dress but if it is not the one for you then keep looking. I think you should pay the £25 to get the other one to the shop as it could be the one for you and otherwise you will prob keep wondering about it anyway.
