How much in advance should I be booking/setting my date for a Disney Wedding? I am thinking about a Nov 2007 date. Is that reasonable?

I called Disney about reserving the Wedding Pavillion for December 4th, 2007. They told me that they can't book the pavillion until 8 months out. Is this just an intimate wedding thing, or do the custom weddings have to wait too?

My wedding is in November of '07, we set up a site tour on November 30th of 2006, and the WP was booked for us, but then again we are having the reception in a special venue so booking it a year out is okay. If your reception is in a regular venue, like a ballroom for example, then you can't book anything until 8 months before. But I would call for a site tour for the near future so you could figure out where you want to have it., and then go from there. Hope this helps.

I called the other day and was able to 'pencil in' our wedding at Sunset Pointe for 1/03/08. Amy said that she couldn't actually book it until the new 2008 packages come out, which will be around July. So, I would call them back and see if they can at least pencil you in the for pavilion.

I called in December 2006 and booked the Wedding Pavillion for a custom wedding in late October 2007. I had to try three different dates to get the time I wanted. Our reception is at Epcot...we've signed our contract and the Save the Date cards have been mailed.

Thanks for all your info. My wedding is in 2008 and I can't wait to book!!

It's a downer isn't it? I'm hoping for Dec 11th and can't rest until it's confirmed, which is still months away. Hope you get the date/time you're wanting.

You should be able to book the WP now. I have book the WP for my custom wedding on Dec 5, 2007 already. We are having our reception at EPCOT followed by the Illuminations Dessert Party that same night. Those are reserved too. We got our contract just before Christmas and I signed and mailed it back with our deposit. Our Save the Dates were mailed out this week and out guests should be getting them next week.

Call DFTW again. Did you have a consultant call you back or did you just talk to the folks who answer the DFTW number?

We took our honeymoon to WDW in 1999, I have been back many times since then due to the Disney majic, I wish we had held the ceremony ther as well.
Good Luck.

Please call ahead now!!!! Depending on what location you want you may have to adjust your time of day or day all together!!!! Good Luck!!!!!princess:

How did you get a contract for that date already. I am having a custom wedding in Nov. and will not get a contract until March....WP and Boarwalk...

I called to book an intimate wedding just last week for a May 2007 date. It sounds too late, but we just got engaged last month at WDW during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We weren't planning to have such a short engagement period, but it turns out we can't wait any longer to call each other husband and wife. :goodvibes

We also didn't plan to get married at WDW, but it was a good way to have a wedding soon and planning it so far has been a fairy tale. I'm already at ease with the exorbitant cost of Cinderella's coach after the initial shock.

Anyway, to get to the point, when I called they said I was in good shape for a May date and, sure enough, all of the intimate wedding dates I considered were available. So if anyone is still on the fence of a DFTW and has a wedding date coming fast, it's certainly not too late! The biggest issue will likely be getting a wedding gown, which apparently takes up to six months to order.

Like everyone else has said, I would say to call now, if you can!! :) I dont know how busy they are that type of year but it doesn't hurt to see if the date you want is available!! Good thing is, if they have your date available, you won't have to go through the lottery process!! :)

I'm about the same as you. :goodvibes engaged in december 2006 and we are getting married the end of april 2007. i ordered my gown 2 weeks after i got engaged and it will be in the beginning of april. don't worry, not all gowns take 6 months to order!
