We'd rather be freezing at WDW than warm at home! LAH LAH's DEC '10 TR! *FINAL 1/18*

I never knew that the phone booths in the UK actually worked and had real numbers! You learn something new everyday on the boards. Calling people in the booths sure sounds like a fun way to pass the time

Am looking forward to eating at Sunshine Season in September - have heard good reviews of the place :)

If you get the chance to eat there, eat some mashed potatoes for me! :thumbsup2

How cool that you can actually call the phone booths! I want to do that!!! :lmao:

I agree with you on Captain EO, once was enough for me...truly. :rotfl2:

You only have 12 days left till you go back! :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3:

My pork chop, the best mashed potatoes known to man, and my key lime pie:

It's 10 AM. But as soon as I saw this picture, my mouth started watering! What I wouldn't give to eat this RIGHT NOW! (Hmmm. I wonder what we have in the vending machines out back.)

Let me know what you found in the vending machine! :lmao:

TO PEARL OR NOT TO PEARL, THAT IS THE QUESTION!

Dinner was finished and we still had lots to do in the Land Pavilion! :cool1:

The kids have asked every year to do the Circle of Life show here, and every year I say "no". I read somewhere on the DIS that it was boring and a waste of time. I promised the kids last year we would watch it on our next trip. A promise is a promise, so we watched it. I loved it! The kids thought it was terribly lame and boring. Never fails! :rotfl:

We jumped on the first empty boat for Living with the Land (one of my favorites!) and then made our way to Soarin'! We usually wait for the opportunity to sit in the front row but skipped that this time and I thought the feet hanging above detracted from the ride. Surprisingly both kids preferred the second row as they liked not being able to see where the screen meets the wall.

Can you guess where we went next? Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine.

We walked around together to peek at all the animals and were surprised to see loads of divers in the tanks. We still aren't sure why there was 20+ divers, but it was fun to watch them waving to their families on the other side of the glass!

We didn't make it very far into the World Showcase earlier so we had to go back! Mexico and the 3 Caballeros were waiting for us, and a good pictures op too:

IMG_0831.JPG

Maelstrom is one weird ride! I always feel uneasy when I get out of the boat, like I missed something. So what's a family to do when you feel uneasy? Ride it again!

Father Christmas in Norway!

IMG_0834.JPG

Last trip we missed the American Adventure due to technical difficulties and I was thrilled we got to see it this time around! It.was.amazing! We all enjoyed it but I couldn't help but leave with a feeling that America was a bit stuck up. The show was wonderfully entertaining, but during it I was uncomfortable and kept wondering what other countries thought about us based on this? :confused3

We always enjoy the street shops:

IMG_0841.JPG

The day was slipping through our fingers like grains of sand (dramatic, I know) so we hurried on over to Japan so Michael could get his last souviner. He had saved the rest of his money for a Pokemon something. Anything. It's all about the Pokemon with him! Elsa and I hung out at the pearl section while he made his selection. We know Michael well enough to recognize we would be waiting a long time. :goodvibes We watched many people open up oysters and any time there was a lull in the openings Elsa begged to fill the void! I wanted to, but we had no need for any additional pearls at our house and at almost $20 a pop my budget kept me from saying yes. What Elsa doesn't know is I almost caved on badgerings number 17 and 22. :lmao:

45 minutes later, with Pokemon in hand (which was swapped out twice...indesicion much?) we were ready for our last ride! We chose not to watch Illuminations (not our favorite) and made our way back to Spaceship Earth instead! A great way to bookend the day. :goodvibes

Next Up: ONE LAST DAY AT MK!

Great updates. You got to everything in Epcot. I cannot believe that squirrel. :lmao: It sounds like you made several people's days calling the phone booth.:thumbsup2

Let me know what you found in the vending machine! :lmao:

I did have to get myself some chips. They weren't nearly as satisfying as your meal looks though!

Edited to add: Love the pictures of Spaceship Earth. It is one of our favorites. Though my husband is disappointed in the narrator change that they made during the last refurbishment.

A little late but I LOVE your TR ....Your pix are fantastic! We've been to Disney many times but finally went to Epcot in August & we loved it! It is now my favorite park!!!

:thumbsup2

Great Updates!! You guys had a full and fun day at EPCOT!!!

I just love SSE, thanks for the pictures!!!

That squirrel jumped on him about 10 times. His party thought it was super funny, I thought it was a bit freaky!

Chips! Better than nothing :rotfl:

Thanks, and Welcome! EPCOT is high on our list...we could easily do two days there!

I just love SSE, thanks for the pictures!!!

My favorite scene is of the sleeping monk :lmao:

ONE LAST DAY OF MK!

I woke up with a desperate last day, last day, last day feeling. I packed that feeling away and worked all day to keep it tucked away. This was our last day and we were going to suck every bit of fun we could out of it! :cool1:

Elsa and I were excited to get Michael up and rush him over to the comissary so he could do the Twist! He was disappointed to miss it our first morning at POP and we really hadn't talked about it since then. He couldn't figure out why we were rushing or why we were so excited. We walked in right at 8 and they were calling all Twisters! Michael was all for it and off we went to join all the other crazy people dancing in the breakfast area!

156842_472071315892_590345892_5687191_7732995_n.jpg

After getting our groove on we split up to order our food at three different windows. When we met back up at our table we were tickled to see we all ordered the same thing (only I finished my whole plate...and it was gooooooooooooood :cutie:):

IMG_0862.JPG

Off to the Magic Kingdom and no need to wear our Under Armour! :dance3: We made it for the last moments of rope drop and skedaddled on over to Carousel of Progress! We were first into the attraction and the only ones so we were able to sing as loud as we wanted...and sing we did!

IMG_0863.JPG

Michael was thrilled that Chip and Dale were out and seemingly waiting for us! He had seen them on our first MK day dressed in their space gear but the line was too long so Michael opted to skip it. We weren't sure we would see them again so this was a treat!

IMG_0867.JPG

Stitch was out too:

IMG_0869.JPG

I've not shared this before, but to know us in our everyday lives is to know how outrageously competitive we are. I blame this on my father. Not a bad blame, but a blame all the same! I brought a guy home in my senior year of highschool and left him in the living room with my father. When I came back in the room they were standing on opposite sides of the room, each with a sheet of loose leaf notebook paper seeing who could keep it on the wall longest with just the force of blowing on the paper. I love this about my family, and this might explain why I can't just walk by the Buzz Lightyear ride! I could ride this over and over and over and I MUST WIN! :rotfl: So we rode and I lost. Boo.

Space Mountain has to be one of our most favorites. When I rode this 5 days ago I knew I had to put this on my "can't ride again" list, but it's a whole different story when you are standing outside of the ride seeing this type of excitement:

IMG_0874.JPG

So I have to publicly admit that I rode it again. One last time. It only took till the first turn to remember why I put this on my list at the beginning of our vacation and knew it was indeed my last ride. But I did get two of my favorite pictures on this, my final Space Mountain ride...ever. *a moment of silence, please*

IMG_0875.JPG

IMG_0876.JPG

We took another lap around Speedway and Elsa was determined to operate the gas pedal. We laughed and giggled our way around the track as she gave it her all and just could not push that pedal, steer, and see over the dash at the same time. So I did the honors and encouraged her that by our next trip I was pretty sure she could master it all!

IMG_0879.JPG

IMG_0880.JPG

We participated in the Laugh Floor and as a family, we just love this attraction! It's usually just slight variations on the same 3 shows, but we laugh hard every time and Michael's new goal is to be "that guy". :lmao:

Next Up: OFF TO TOM SAWYERS ISLAND!

I LOVE the MK and it looks like you were having so much fun!:cloud9: The story of your dad's paper blowing competition is too funny. I really like the pictures with Chip and Dale, they turned out great.

Sounds like you guys had a great last day in MK! :yay: on getting all the character pictures and have observed the silence for not being able to ride Space Mountain again!

I have about a hundred of those stories...we are super competitors! :rotfl:

A vacation without at least 2 visits to the MK just isn't a real vacation. :goodvibes

Thank you for observing the silence! :lmao:

It really was a lovely day!

Another great update!!! Yay for getting Michael there to do the twist!! I might have to stop there one morning and do the twist before heading over to BW!!!

Singing on COP, doesn't get much better than that! I love to sing on that ride, I'll even do it with people in there I love it that much LOL!!!!!

I think I have also ridden Space Mountain for the last time...just not for me LOL!

You only have 10 days left! You must be so, so, so, so excited! :woohoo:

OFF TO TOM SAWYERS ISLAND!

We left Tomorrowland and made our way for Tom Sawyers Island. The kids have never been there and I only remember the raft ride from all those years back. We were so busy searching for paint brushes that I neglected to take pictures. :sad2: Michael and Elsa loved it! All the paint brushes had been found before we even set foot on the island, so I think this might be an early attraction for us next time. We have to find a paint brush! :rotfl:

Adventureland and the cinnamon-glazed almonds were waiting for us! :woohoo: We rode Pirates of the Carribean (love it) and had to do the classically corny Jungle Cruise (like it):

IMG_0885.JPG

Michael and Elsa had finally seen the Swiss Family Robinson movie since our last trip, so the attraction had a whole new feeling and meaning for us all. :lovestruc We walked up and down that tree while munching on the glorious cinnamon-glazed almonds. Now that's a good time!

We finished out this section of the park with Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride and were more than ready for lunch! Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Tavern was just what we needed:

Just one of the many food bills that we didn't have to pay! YAY!

IMG_0887.JPG

Michael and I enjoyed the chicken wraps and Elsa loved her hamburger:

IMG_0889.JPG

The Celebrate a Dream Come True parade was only an hour away and I was itching to see it. Michael and Elsa went off to ride Thunder Mountain while I kept our prime location for the parade. :yay: Thunder Mountain is on my "no-ride" list so this worked out splendidly! When the kids joined me we still had some time to kill...thankfully the Cast Memebers came out to entertain the restless crowd!

Elsa held the record for the day with 124 jumps!

Next Up: PLEASE DON'T LET THIS DAY END!

I never knew the phonebooths at Epcot actually worked. How did you get the phone numbers for them?
You calling and talking with people had me rolling on the floor, that sounds like so much fun.

The American Adventure is my all time favorite attraction in world Showcase, it brings me to tears and I feel so much pride for my country and for our forefathers and our soldiers. I hope other people from other countries walk away knowing the sense of pride Americans have, I sure hope they don't think we're stuck on ourselves, I never thought of it that way. Isn't the music they play beautiful, just that one phrase, "America spread your golden wings." is enough to make me cry buckets. LOL

I did the Carousel of progress at MK for the first time on my last trip, I had heard it was boring and never went to it, but I actually love it now and can't wait to go again.

This sounds like a great trip was had by you and your kids, thank you for sharing it with us.

The American Adventure was fantastic! I would love to see the stage and what it looks like looking down into it!

You got some nice parade pictures. I love the picture of Aladdin, he's my favorite.

Here's another one for you! :cloud9:
