One of my friends makes all her Dapper Day clothing using vintage patterns. She is very clever!! I like Modcloth because if it doesn't fit, you can return it with free shipping. Eshakti was great the first time I ordered (got 3 dresses) but the second time, I found the quality to be a lot lower. It may have been that particular dress, but it made me hesitate since I heard a similar complaint from my pal disneyluvr2. Also, you have to pay return shipping if something doesn't fit so that's a consideration.
Some lesser known google searches that can net cool DD outfits: church suits & gothic lolita. I got this outfit:
from a gothic lolita shop on ebay. Got the blouse and dress, both new, for $25. The blouse has a plaid collar that matches the dress and a removable black velvet collar as well. You can't see it well, but the skirt has a cute Alice in Wonderland detail in white.
