Website that will tell you if certain cabins are available?

I had started planning a cruise a few years ago & then had to cancel :(

But I can recall that there was a website that indicated which cabins were still available & which had been claimed. I can recall logging into that site everyday & checking to see if one of those secret porthole rooms became available.

Does anyone know if that site is still up? Do you have the address?

You can do this on Travelocity or Expedia, but you don't get a complete picture. I'm not aware of a website which shows the status of any cabin on the ship. Most show only the "best" 8 on a given deck in a given category. The criteria for best seems to be closest to midship.

What you can do is try to get a quote for a category 10 stateroom. When you get to the page where you choose your cabin, select deck 5. If that's not an option, than that likely means that they are all booked.

I think an easier way would be to call DCL reservations and ask for their availability for a given cruise. If you find one open, you can book it and then transfer the reservation to a travel agent, if you like.

How do you do it on cruise locators? I searched the site but couldn't figure out how to check the specific staterooms that are available.

Agreed. I've seen it referred to here before, but everytime I've ever tried it I've always gotten a screen that says I need to call a 1-800 for assistance. It has NEVER let me get so far as to try to choose a room.

I just tried it and you have to go to online booking and then I picked non-member NWA and once you pick the type of stateroom you want, it pauses for a while and then comes back with a list of available staterooms and the prices. Not sure if it is ALL the rooms available on that deck but the list was about 15 staterooms long.

:sunny: This is how I got to it. Hope it works for you.

Yep. I finally got through to that step, BUT, it did only show me 8 cabins, regardless of the categories that I chose.

That tells me that this site is like those mentioned above. It shows you the "best" 8 remaining cabins for the category. Not a way to truly determine which cabins are available or how full your cruise is.

IF anybody knows how to do that, please let us know.

:sunny: I agree with that. But it does tell you if nothing is available. I went into August 2004 don't remember the date and went for an inside cabin and it told me to try again my choice was not abailable.
