Webcast Add-On Incentive

According to the chart, current DVC members get better price per point at lower point levels at AKV.
At least that is a perk for current members.
For example non members get a discount of 18/pt at 160 pts purchased while members get a discount of 20/pt for 160 pts purchased.

I'm so excited for the thing tonight....we actually already spoke with someone and are buying in...

BTW - this is my first post - I promise I'll learn the acronyms sooner or later!

Welcome to the DisBoards!!

I excided to become apart of DVC; I just confirmed with our guide that we are buying 220pt at AKV for $92 a point. I broke it into 2 contracts one for 160 and one for 60. I am happy not to have to deal with resale anymore.

The webcast had $90 a point for AKV for 200 points. Try to get your 220 points for $90 a point. That's $440 in your pocket.

I would love $440 in my pocket. Is that for add-ons? I am going to be a new DVC member. Will they give me the same price?

Just tell your guide that you want the same price they were offering on the webcast. He can only say no.

We listened last night to the webcast as well. We bought 200 BLT points this past June. Looking into possibly buying at Animal Kingdom since they are cheaper. After connecting with the online chat person, she/he told us our guide will call us soon. He ended up calling about 15 minutes later at 9:30pm. We just received an email from him today about getting 4 annual passes with a minimum 100 points. It would be great to be able to get both the webcast incentive combined with the AP incentive. But it appears it might not be possible from a previous post??

I just received a reply from our guide. He did confirm that we could only use the web incentive OR the free AP incentive.

Are there any closing costs associated with an add-on? Also, are there any with a new master contract?

I just added on. No closing costs.

Very weird. I'm looking at a resale contract and they just told me that Disney charges a closing. fee of $200 for an addon. I don't believe that to be true though? Can somebody clarify that for me? Does Disney do resales and maybe that's where they charge a closing fee?

I think there is a closing fee on add ons, but disney pays it. I have never paid for an add on.

I've never heard of Disney charging existing members for closing costs on an add-on. Maybe if you finance it with they do, but I'm pretty sure not even then and thought I've heard that existing members even automatically qualify for "preferred" rate financing. I know we were NOT charged closing when I added-on @ VGC in April 2009 (and got $5 off PP on 50 IIRC), but we paid cash...

When you buy resale there are closing fees and Disney does charge something for the transfer etc.

If you were to buy the add-on direct thru Disney they cover/include any of the fees and do not charge you directly.

Also, it was only within the past year or so that Disney started charging closing fees for the initial purchase. They used to cover the fees for that in the past but not any longer.
