leaving on Friday for our trip to disneyworld and the forecast has me slightly concerned. The last time we went in April it was 80's and sunny the whole time with the exception of 2 short sprinkles. This time it looks like thunderstorms and rain are predicted every day! Any advice or thoughts? If it says 80% chance of rain- is that for the whole day, or could it just be for an hour? Anyone there now experiencing the weather? Thanks in advance!

I was there this past week.
First: the weather forecasters have to forecast. So they do. But they really have no idea what Friday is going to be like this far out.
Second; 80% just means that it is very likely that there will be a thunderstorm passing through the area and it may or may not hit the parks.
It rained twice while we were there, both times we were already back in our rooms. The most common time for thunderstorms is late afternoon.
And check different sites. The local station WESH was saying 20% while Weather.com was saying 80%!

Agree with @LaurenT
The weather here is unpredictable, there's really no telling if it will rain and how much a week ahead. That being said it has rained the past 2 evenings here in Orlando. The forecast is calling for 50% basically this entire week. And like LaurenT said it's not the amount of rain but the chance that where you are will get rain.
Just pack your umbrellas/ponchos, extra socks and enjoy your day.

The weather forecasts here are a joke. Yesterday afternoon I went on a short three mile drive. It was bright and sunny when I left and it was raining buckets when I got home a few minutes later. You can't predict the weather here an hour in advance much less a week. My suggestion is to totally ignore the weather reports and come have a great time. If it starts to rain while you are in a park just do some inside thing, like the Lion King Festival. In an hour the sun will be back out. Rain really isn't an issue here.
