I know it is a little far out for accurate weather reports but weather.com is calling for 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms for next Thurs & Fri. accuweather just says Thurs "overcast and humid with thunderstorms" and Fri. "chance for thunderstorms".

My son really wants to do DD (which only be open Fri and Sat). We currently have ressies for HRH for Thursday night (planning to do IOA/USF Thursday and Friday). I know the forecast probably will change as it is a little far out for now.

My question(s):
1) If I am going to change my hotel ressies should I wait until Sat or Sun and change based on the weather forecast then (if I can)
2) Should I not worry about it if they are "scattered"? I mean, FL has scattered rain almost every afternoon in the summer anyway.
3)If it isn't constantly raining is there enough "inside stuff" *(not shopping)* to do? I will have an ecv that I don't want out in the rain a long time.

Most importantly--will the coasters (Hulk, DD) STOP for storms?

TIA

Is DD even Open? I will find out today as we are heading there in about 1 min.

It was rain yesterday and I called US/IOA and talked to a person who said the ride are open and close if thunder and lightening is present. So the best you can say is hope for rain minus the lightening and thunder.

I wouldnt change my plans based on the weather for 10 days from now. Florida even more so. It could pour and storm for a little while and minutes later there could be no trace of it. The forecast could change completely by the time you go and probably will. I will be hoping for :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: for you so your son can ride DD! Have a great time.

It isn't scheduled to be open on this Friday and Saturday as far as I know unless they have changed their mind. It will be open the following weekend (Memorial Day weekend) though.

Sorry I wasn'r clearer about the weekends. I meant Mem Day weekend (which is next weekend--right?? or have I overloaded on planning?????)

Well I guess it depends on your defintition of "next". Next weekend to me is the one coming in 3 days. Memorial weekend is the following weekend.

Anyway, weather forecasts are never good more than a few days out so I wouldn't worry too much. If it is raining, most things stay open. It only closes if lightening is within 5 miles.

The weather changes so quick around here that I wouldn't worry about it.

Only if there is lightening within 5 miles of Universal, then they will close those rides until it passes.

I figured it like you. Last weekend would have been the weekend (fri and sat) that just passed, this weekend would be fri and say may 20-21 and next weekend would be memorial weekend. Every single time I try and explain that to my kids they look at me like I'm :crazy:
