I am worried about hurricane season.
Who has been there in Spetember before?

We went at the end of September in 2006 and the weather was beautiful. It was cool in the mornings and pretty warm by 10 or 11. We only had one small rain shower in the 6 days we were there. I was, too, worried about hurricanes. Just buy trip insurance, but chances are the weather will be perfect. We are going again this year at the end of August/Beginning of September. We loved the time of year and small crowds before. Good luck and Happy Planning!~!

It's very hot and humid! We were dripping sweat at the bus stops at 8 AM :scared: We took a break for several hours every afternoon and it helped so much!

We went in September 2006. It was a great time to go because there wasn't a wait for anything. The weather was beautiful and HOT! :cool1: We enjoyed the water parks some too. It did rain at least 30 minutes or so everyday. We were caught in a downpour at AK but it honestly didn't bother us because it had been so hot. Plus we always carried our ponchos:thumbsup2

went last year. Hot and humid but we are from the south so to us it was just normal.:goodvibes Had a few showers but none lasted that long (expect for one friday night and it poured) Learned to grab a couple of the cheap ponchos at Dollar tree before you leave town (almost $8.00 for one in the park) then as you leave the park if you used them you can throw them away instead of saving them. Really don't need one unless it pours, too hot to use for the short showers. Here's hoping no hurricaines this year! :cool1:

We went three yrs in a row in Sept - each time in a different week - getting progressively later in the month each time. Each year it was hot and humid, but there were definitely some times of cooler air on each trip. We had some rain every single trip, but then when doesn't it rain for a while in central FL?

We went last September 21-30. Extremely HOT and HUMID. We will not be going back that time of year again. We are from Illinois and we get hot humid weather, but nothing like that. Crowds are low as with many other times of the year with much nicer weather.

Hot and humid and in the 90's; felt like summer to me.:scared: I have been there twice in Sept and it was like this both times. Last time though we were inundated by lovebugs and definetly put a damper on my trip. The hotter it is, the more there are and some days every surface of benches, rides, etc were covered with them.:scared1:

May be a stupid question but what lovebugs:confused3

Love bugs are harmless, fly type bugs that do nothing but mate.

September weather in the south is normally hot and humid, with showers here and there. We got caught in some serious down pours last year, but in 2006, we barely saw rain!

Lovebugs are found, I believe, in the southeast coastal areas 2 times a year. They occur in approximately May-June and Aug-Sept. They are harmless black flying bugs, about the size of a lightening bug; they don't bite, and congregate as the weather gets hotter during the day then disappear at nite. The hotter the weather, the more of them there are. They are called lovebugs because they fly around in pairs, making them look bigger, because they are mating. They are attracted to lighter clothes/surfaces, which makes dressing difficult because you don't want to wear dark clothing. I know if you search lovebugs on the disboards, you can find pictures. There were so many of them our last trip in Sept that I vowed never to go then again, regardless of the free dining promotion.:headache:

Like most everyone said, very hot and humid. We were there this past Sept. There were a few showers, but no big storms. The bigger concern is the heat.

I have heard about those lovebugs and I do NOTlook foward to them

We have been in Sept the past 3 years. (for free dining:thumbsup2).
Sept 2007: Hot but tolerable. Really enjoyed our daily afternoon breaks/swims..lots of welcome showers...only really rained (our last day :sad1: ). No lovebugs. :)
Sept 2006...TONS of lovebugs:scared1: They were BRUTAL! ick! I know they don't bite...but they were everywhere, all over everything! And it was hot and humid. But neither bothered us so much because we went back again in '07.:thumbsup2
Sept 2005...no major lovebugs to report but it was EXTREMELY hot and humid that year.
We are from NE so we actually do not mind the heat when we are on vacation. We went one year in Feb and absolutely froze!! Never again! :sad2: So we always enjoy the warm weather in Sept.
Going back Sept 2008! :thumbsup2

Good to hear. Thanks! We made reservations for September and I was worried about having lots of rain.
