weather in May?

Family going to WDW from 5/14-5/21. Never been to Florida at this time of year. Our hope in booking in May was to avoid the the real hot hot weather. What can I expect in May and what has everyone's experience been?

Haven't been in May myself but I hear it's rather warm. It was warm in April the last time (high 80-s to mid-90's) we went so I would assume it would be the same or hotter in May. You might try Accuweather.com or weather.com, you can get monthly averages on those sites that would at least give you an idea of what to expect. I would plan for warm weather though.

its about as hot as hot can be, however, it seems slightly better as there is less humidity. Its 90's at least I would say..

I would agree with saying it's around 90. We went in May once and it was around the same dates as you. We were melting in the parks!LOL We usually go in Nov and are so spoiled with the weather and low crowds. We thought it was crowded and really too hot for us. We would spend the mornings in a park and then the afternoons by the pool. On that trip we only went to the parks 3 times! It turned out great because we got to really enjoy the resort. I would say be prepared for heat, like bring a mister fan, plan a pool break in the afternoon. I would definately go back during that time because for us it's perfect swimming weather!

We went in May 03 and thought the weather was great. A lot of how comfortable you are will depend on where you live. We are in TX, so it didn't seem too hot to us. We got warm a few times, but were never miserable. We only really got rained on once, but missed a shower or too when we were in our rooms. I loved May and it is one of my favorite times to go. (Don't miss Star Wars weekends!)

May is a good month to go. The crowds aren't heavy yet, and it isn't too hot.
