We just went in January and boy was it FREEZING!! We're used to going in September when it's super hot....so, the question is how is the weather in May? Trying to narrow down my "what to pack" list... Thanks :) :thumbsup2

May is actually my favorite month in WDW. It's def warm during the day and good for swimming, but it's not unbearably hot like it is in July-August. I would pack light capris, shorts, t-shirts, but bring a light sweater for the evenings and maybe one pair of light pants (since it's still spring weather, there can be some temperature swings so you never know and better safe than sorry). We're going May 17-22 and I'll def be checking the 10day forecast!! Now, if only it weren't too early for me to start packing... hahaha :rolleyes1

We have been in mid-May. The weather was very hot and humid while we were there. Plus we had the lovebugs to contend with. Neither ruined our trip but did make it a bit more uncomfortable. I would make sure you have some sort of mister and drink lots of water as well as avoid wearing white.

I've gone many times around that week. It's usually around 90 but not as humid as summer. Very little rain.

We went the second week in May last year and it was wonderful! Low crowds (except Mother's Day, which had a lot of locals), but the weather was great. We just made a resort day out of Mother's Day and hung out at the pool, but went to the park after hours. The lines were very light and not too many kids. Have fun!! I wish we were going again in May. Our next trip is early Dec.

Thanks everyone! I am not sure what a "lovebug" is! Maybe I don't want to know :rotfl: I'm really looking forward to this trip!

First lovebugs are flies that mate while flying, etc. If you see one, you'll see two. They can be annoying but they're really not a big deal.

We go to WDW every May around the 14th to 22nd (check out before Memorial Day weekend) The weather is beautiful. Sometimes HOT! But honestly, it's been in the high 80's the past 4 years when we were there.

Enjoy your trip.

I didn't know they were called love bugs but they are horrible. In september we were at the BCV and the tables were covered with them. While we were floating in the lazy river they would land on your arms. YUCK!!

We're there the exact same days! :)

DD and I will be there May9-16, and I'm also hoping it's not too sultry. In the past, the weather during my May trips has ranged from "lovely, dry spring" days to "semi-sauna" days.
OP and I must've coordinated our vacations...............I also was there this past January when the Artic weather hit. Brrrrrrr...........;)

We have been to WDW in may the past 2 years. The first trip weather was in the 80s everyday and we even expiranced a tropical storm one day. Last year the weather was perfect. I think may and october are the best months to go.

As a Floridian, I think April is the best month, sunny but yet still not too hot. May can be iffy, last year we had a very wet May, the year before it was during the drout. Who knows what May 09 will be like, but in any event May/early June is still a lot better than mid-June, July, August & September! The stinking heat is rough!

We are at OKW May 9-16. We love going in May and always do. We never had an issue with love bugs until this last trip and there were a lot of them. The weather is warm but not near as hot as summer or Sept. You don't get the afternoon showers as much either. We love the flowers and the weather and maybe we will see you there.

DH and I also love going in May every year for our anniversary (w/o any of our adult kids.....we did take our grandson with us once in May!) We'll also be at BCV 5/10 thru 5/15 for our 30th this year! We love the weather and the crowd level at that time.......it can be hot, but, it's usually not really humid yet. We have had to deal with quite a few lovebugs that past few years.

I completely agree! I have trips for May and Oct. This is my favorite time to go. The weather is great. May can be hot, it just depends.

May is probably my DH's favorite time of year at WDW. Most years the temps have been in the 80's with an ocassional 90 deree day. Never have nad much rain but the times it did was heavy for a few hours and then cleared. We wil also be there the 15th - 22nd.
