Weather in Late Jan for dressing the kids?

Does anyone have any suggestions about the weather in late January so I know what to pack for the kids as well as ourselves???

From what I've heard I probably need to take a little of everything.

Please let me know your thoughts if you have experience with this time of year.

We have gone in Feb.

Average temps for Florida appear to be around 72 for a high and 50 for a low in January, which is about the exact same as Febuary. Average temp is around 60.

I know in February we dressed in layers. It depends on where you are from and what you are accustom to. Since were were coming from Iowa where it was freezing, even 55 isnt too bad!!! I think most days I (as an adult) dressed in shorts, with a t-shirt and a heavy sweatshirt that could be removed.

If I were to go during that time period now with my 2 year old, I would definitely dress him in comfy pants, a tshirt and a sweatshirt or jacket that could be removed. I would probably bring a pair of shorts or two for him in case there were unseasonably warm days, but for a toddler 70 degrees is not going to be horrible in pants. I would also still bring a swimsuit, as crazy as it seems its hard to be in florida and not have the urge to swim!
