Isn't the weather in Orlando just terrible at the moment.Don't take this the wrong way I love DVC,being a member myself, and Florida as a whole.

But to call it the sunshins state when they are approaching 12 inches of rain this month alone! Surely the sunshine averaged in LA and closer to home the Med is far better than Florida.

Again I love the place but the Sunshins State, couls that be described as Artistic Licence.

Actually, I imagine they are grateful for the rain..they have been in a horrible drought for some years now.
No--it IS the Sunshine State and most times that's what you'll get in abundance. We've been to WDW 23 times now and NEVER gotten any rain other than those unpredictable thunderstorms that can crop up at any time.

I'd rather be walking through muddy puddles than fighting brush fires. ;)

Even with the rain lately, we are still in a rain "deficit". It will take weeks of weather like this to get us out of our drought.

Guess that's why they sell those funny lookin' panchos.

I agree that rain is better than smoke from fires. You can do all your regular tourist stuff in the rain, since it's usually a warm rain, but if you can't breathe in the dense smoke....I've been going to Disney twice a year since 1974, and I have never been as frightened as I was last winter when we arrived at the Magic Kingdom, and I couldn't see it due to the smoke. I began coughing violently, and had to leave. It was scary...

I wish we could get some rain here in AZ. Those poor firefighters! Anyway, I'm hoping it's done raining by the time we go down in December!

We were there last week for eight days, it poured at least 5 days. We did discovery cove on our first full day, thank goodness, it rained several hours everyday thereafter. We went to Epcot, MGM (to see Tiger Woods in the parade, he didnt show) and to MK it rained on and off all day, the good thing, it kept the temps down in the 80s. We got to see a few movies, and eat alot of dinners!!!

In comparison, the Disney parks in the Golden State get very little rain. For an Anaheim weather overview by month, see http://www.weather.com/weather/climatology/monthly/92802
It's normal to have essentially no rain in the summer.

NORMAL INDEED! It NEVER rains here in CALI! I just returned from a trip to NY, and it was monsoon weather..LOL. I stepped out of the Mustang rental, and thought I was on a Paramount backlot shooting! The water came in Buckets, as if TOSSED on me. It also came from seemingly out of the blue, just as Orlando's does during every summer sojourn. I say: "Bring on the Rain, and all the bells & Whistles too (Lightening & thunder)~As we Cali's are STORM-DEPRIVED! BTW...We're the ones out there in the puddles and downpour, laughing w/our yellow MM ponchos! :p ;)
