I have read so many different answers on what the weather will be in December. We will be there from 12/12-12/19.

I was thinking of making my daughter some sun dresses, but I didn't know if it would be too chilly for that.

What is your opinion/experience?

Thanks

I am actually goingthe same time as you and have been there before at that time. The weather is VARIABLE....LAYERS are the rule. I have had days where I have been in shorts and a bathing suit in the pool, and the next day I was in jeans and a winter jacket. Most days start chilly/cold and warm up nicely to the 70's by midday and then back down in the evening and at night.I usually wait till the week before to start packing clothes since it can vary so much

I don't want to waste my time, and make her sun dresses..and it be to chilly. Should I just skip the dresses, and make long sleeve shirts? :thumbsup2

We went in December of 2005, and it was really pleasant weather: shorts during the day and jeans at night. Then, we went in December of 2007, and it was HOT, HOT, and HOT! We had packed warmer-weather clothes, and we were sweltering. We ended up buying almost all new clothes for DD who was 11 months at the time because she was so hot, and I was rolling my pants up into capris! :lmao:

I think a sundress or 2 is fine. My typical outfit for December is...Capri pants, Tshirt, and a sweatshirt to wear in the am.If it is real chilly...jeans ,tshirt, and sweatshirt.Like I said it varies tremendously. But shorts /capris with warmer stuff to layer over is usually ok.

We're going in Dec too and I'm planning on bringing a long sleeve shirt for each girl to wear under their tshirts. I'm bringing skirts with leggings to put under them. One pair of pants and one pair of capris. Also a hoodie and a warmer jacket per kiddo as well. Dec is so hard to plan for.

We love going in December, and have seen weather that was windy and COLD (40s) in the evening (and not warm during the day) up to mid-80s and sweaty. One trip, the weather was mid-80s early in the week and 60s later in the week - looking at our pics, it's hard to believe it was all the same trip! I wouldn't bother with sundresses as it is unlikely that she'd get away with anything sleeveless during that time, but instead plan on a mixture of short-sleeved and long-sleeved shirts (with a sweatshirt or two for layers, and a jacket just in case).
