We are thinking of taking our kids(8 yr. old twins) on their first cruise Dec. 14 for 7 days and want to know what the weather is like. The twins definitely want to swim and have fun in the sun!! Also, we have never spent alot of time in the room, so we are thinking of going for an inside room to save $! Any room/deck ideas? Thanks!!!

I've cruised in December the past two years and will be again this year (on the Western route, you'll be on the Eastern).

The weather has always been GREAT, definitely warm enough to swim but not unbearably hot.

The only possible drawback is Castaway Cay; two years ago we got a cold and rainy day there in December. Last year it was beautiful, but the water still somewhat cool (not too cool to swim, though).

As for your stateroom, if you want inside I'd go with the Deluxe Inside Stateroom (Cat. 10) to get the split bathroom, and they are primarily on Deck 2. There are a few "secret porthole rooms" on Deck 5 and a few other Cat. 10s on Decks 7 and 1. I'd shoot for Deck 5 or 2.

Enjoy! :D

Thanks for the info. It can be very confusing. Do you think the kids would be ok going for 7 days the first time? They are normally very good travelers and used to staying together with us at WDW.

DEFINITELY, your kids will have an absolute blast. I have an 8 year old as well and I have to drag her out of the kids programming, plus she loves spending time with us at the pool and on boating excursions. You'll have a great time, go for the 7-night! :D

Tooth Fairy~Let us know if you do book that date! There are a lot of dis'ers booked for that cruise, I'm one of them!:D
