Ugh, it really DOES say that--they can cancel and by agreeing to sail (have to sign to sail), you agree that they owe you nothing if they cancel altogether. I've certainly never heard of Disney doing that--when they've canceled, they've always refunded the cost (as far as I know, anyway). So I guess that makes it that much more important to have trip insurance, in case they ever decide to actually implement that right! Ugh again. Hard to believe they even put that part in there.
It has always been in their contract. I found it when we got the thick booklets with docs back in 2003. The fact that they have refunded for extenuating circumstances just shows that they are a good company since they really don't have to. The weather is not one of those circumstances, except for the hurricane last year. That was extreme and probably avoidable and likely why DCL made the offer they did to those guests.
