I suppose in my case, as soon as I booked...in August...I prepared myself for being in the middle of the ocean surrounded by Cat 5 hurricanes on all 4 sides
Hurricane Andrew? My birthday.
Hurricane Katrina? Just after my birthday.
Hurricane Irene? Landed in the middle of it in PR...for my birthday. - got it twice. Landing into PR, then we flew to Florida...just in time for the mainland to get hit. The remnants even flooded parts of NY while we were on vacation IN Florida. LOL
Went to Disney and stayed at the Contemporary...tropical storm (about 3 years ago)
15th Birthday party? Hurricane AND a death in the family.
12th Birthday? Mom broke her arm...and the house was hit by lightning.
And I was born in the middle of a storm/mudslides.
Vacations tend to have...well...weather issues with me. So I'm fully prepared to at least be on a fantastic ship with no work, great food, great entertainment...and if I happen to luck out and get good weather and make all the stops then BONUS!
I do think especially with all the money folks spend on these trips that the sense of entitlement and the sense of everything needing to be perfect takes over.
Just realize that nothing is perfect and Disney ESPECIALLY won't do anything to jeopardize your safety. You just have to learn to roll with the punches.
