Welcome advice from seasoned DCL cruisers. Our TA advised booking our activities on our Platinum level day and then hopefully our Gold level friends can get the same activities. I linked our reservations and now it looks like I can't book until the Gold level date. What's your opinion? Unlink and get what I can and hope friends can get the same thing on the Gold date or make changes once we're onboard? Or, stay linked and just get what we can get on the Gold date?

Thanks for your input.

If you want to book for the whole party (both staterooms) you would need to wait until the Gold date. But even if linked you should be able to book activities for those in your stateroom on the Platinum date.

Assuming the site is working properly and allowing activities to be booked at the Platinum booking date for Platinum-status cruisers, I'd go ahead and book what you want at the Platinum date.

If an activity fills up before the Gold booking date, you can discuss with your friends whether they would prefer to do a different activity together. If so, you can cancel your initial booking. There is no penalty for cancellations before a few days of sailing, so cancelling during Gold booking will not be a problem (and will open space for smaller groups who may want it).

If you can book the activities but your friends cant will you still go ahead and do the activities without them? The answer to this question should help you determine whether to book now or wait.

This really stinks. We're all on the same reservation and essentially this means we have to wait for the person with the lowest status to book PALO as a family or our excursions. Really doesn't seem fair.

Each stateroom is a separate reservation. Are you in the same stateroom? If so the activity booking opens for everyone in the room at the highest CC date.
Right, I booked a placeholder for 2 cabins, but when we booked it became 2 reservations. Regardless, we're one family. I probably should have put one of the platinum names in each room.

Husband and I are platinum. Sons are silver. I put one platinum in each stateroom. That way we can checkin together and book excursions and dining together.
