Living in the south, the worst thing about our cold weather isn't the temperature but the wind and moisture.
If it's 30, okay, be 30 and I can dress for 30. But, when it's 45, but windy and damp at times it can feel like 30 and at times it can feel like 60 so it's hard to dress and pack.
BUT, I would prefer the winter temps to the summer temps on any visit. I can always hit the hot tub and usually hit the pool on the winter trips...in the summer, you're sweating and fatigued no matter what.

, the cold front that just hit the north is supposed to be moving down, so it is going to be colder than usual. What you pack it depends were you live, if you are coming from CO were it was -6 yesterday, 60 it's going to be shorts weather. If you are coming from the south you need to bundle up. Also make sure you are looking at "it feels like" temperature, because just because it is 60 doesn't mean it will feel like 60. Our last trip in feb it was 63 outside but it felt like 53 it was cold. I am packing lots of layers, rain boots and no shorts.
