We WEREN'T the "Castle Family", we DIDN'T get to be GRAND MARSHALLS,...

"...so much to do, so little time...."

After letting my DH stew for a few days, 'he' decided that he wanted to go to WDW after all. We trekked to our local Lowe's and purchased a 7-foot 'naturally challenged' Christmas tree (although I SWORE that I'd never do this, we went 'fake' this year...). We still hadn't gotten what we call 'the biggie gift' for either of our older DSs - Todd wanted a new PC, since he was taking an online course and his old one was ka-put, and Jesse seemed to have a sudden interest in a budding career as a dee-jay (WHATEVER!) , so after 3 straight nights of bargain-hunting, we finally made our purchases at Best-Buy and Ash Music, respectively. It's now the Friday before we leave, last-minute gifts still need to be wrapped and I STILL have not packed a blessed thing. Oh well, at least the tree is up and decorated....

...and the packages of new undies and socks are ready to go into the suitcases (Dr. Freud, care to analyze THIS one??)

Saturday was our family Christmas day, which was, ironically, relaxing. All the major housework and food shopping for my DS and 'furbabies'[so they'd have food for the week] was already finished - I prepared a wonderful dinner, and the boys were pleased, although not quite surprised, with their gifts. Now we were into the 'home stretch' so to speak, and the pace will now pick up......

Sunday morning, up and at'em - we had altar service for 7:30 AM mass (my DH and I are Eucharistic Ministers)...TODAY IS THE DAY WE FLY TO WDW!!! WOOHOO!! (...guess I'd better start packin'.....I'm NOT kidding about this...) A few loads of laundry and a few hours later, our bags are in the trunk and we ate a hearty dinner (thank goodness for my ability to foresee that we were probably not going to be eating a meal anytime soon, especially since my DH has Celiac and cannot eat at any old place that pops up). Since we were flying out of Altantic City, we had a 2-hr drive ahead of us, and it had been drizzling for a while. Our flight was scheduled to depart at 6:30PM, so I had wanted to be on the road by 2:30....surprisingly, (AND unfortunately!) we were pretty much on schedule.

Remember 'bout "getting that parking space right in front"?? Well, here is where everything sorta goes sour.....

Oh I'm in for this one. I could learn a thing or two from your subtle "wear him down" method.
Hubby to be thinks this is going to be our one and only Disney trip..:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rolleyes1 Oh Thank you, I thought I was the only crazy woman out there that was @N@L rententive enought to buy new socks and underwear for vacations....maybe its that mom thing about getting into an accident and making sure you have clean undies! (call me crazy, but if i get into an accident, i doubt the undies, matter how brand new they were, would NOT be clean after!!!:scared1: )

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I always kidded my DW about always taking her oldest underwear to WDW (she thinks that by throwing it out before returning, she has "more suitcase space for souvenirs"...yeah, right, if you are throwing away metal underwear:lmao:) Now, you've given me a better justification...if you're in an accident, you might as well soil old underwear:rotfl:

....throw out the old undies before you return home, so as to have MORE 'souvies' space....hmmmm, :scratchin think it'll catch on??

...at that point, :confused3 WHO CARES ABOUT CLEAN UNDIES??!??! [ ;) ]

Whoo-hoo! You're on your way! :cool1:

Guess what? After a bad accident, nobodies undies are clean.

I have heard about taking your old undies so you can throw them out to have more room for souvenirs. But for me I would have to take a trunk load of old underwear to throw out to make room for souvenirs :rolleyes1 ( yes I have a shopping problem, at least that's what DH calls it ;) )

Great trip report so far Kim, aren't you glad we kept badgering you to write one ;)

My DS is 5. So, I gather my days of a $15 dump truck delighting him to tears are numbered?!

How pretty! I made the switch to a "naturally challenged" (:rotfl2: ) tree a few years ago... I had no idea the holiday season could be sneeze-free AND I'd be able to leave it for a few days without fearing for the fire-safety of my home!

Uh-oh.... :scared:

...thanks.... ...my DS was making fun of it, saying that it is too skinny. Usually, I put in a much larger [and fuller] tree in that corner, but I bought the smaller one, because I also put up another tree in my dining room, in front of the triple window, and this one will be that tree....you can't really see them in the pic, but I have been purchasing Mickey ornaments at the DTD Christmas store every time we visit WDW. They look like they are carved out of wood - very rustic and simple. (...talk about finding the 'Hidden Mickeys'...:teeth: )
