We want to do it all over again - minus the trip to the hospital! *COMPLETE*

Boma and Sanaa are both very good and even my brother- in- law who is a picky eater found something that pleased him at Boma. I have heard that the breakfast there is great too but we never tried it. Do you know if the breakfast at Tusker house is similar to the one at Boma?

The pictures of Seth's encounter with the characters is priceless. Hopefully they will grow to love them soon. ;)

In 2008, we had breakfast at both Boma and Tusker House. They were both good. Lots of assortment at both of them, some African choices, but also many standard items. The juice at both: YUM!!! I liked the food at Boma better, but there was nothing wrong with the food at TH. Of course, there are characters at TH.

The pictures of Seth with the characters cracked me up! I love photos like that!

Loved your Fantasyland Fun! That's great that Beatriz enjoyed so many of the rides, but too bad about the long Dumbo wait. We have never been on Dumbo!!! We haven't been on Cinderella's Carousel, either. One of the horses is Cindy's. It has a golden tail or something like that.

The picture of Beatriz with the 3D glasses is great!!! They are so big on her.

Very nice shot of the show- I love the one with the Princesses dresses flowing.

Splash Mountain when you're hot hot hot? Is Beatriz big enough for that?

joining in-love your report! Your daughter is precious!! Beautiful pictures-thanks for sharing!!

Great update!
I've never heard of surprise FP's either. That's cool that you got one for BOTH rides that you were wanting one for! :cool1:

I did not know they were upgrading Dumbo. That is awesome because we never did ride it this past trip because the line was always too long.

The picture of Beatriz holding baby Simba is the most adorable thing that I've seen!!! So sweet! :cutie:

I have thought about doing a PTR/ TR in the past. In fact, I still kick myself for not doing a TR for my Disney Wilderness Lodge honeymoon. This time I am not sure. The trip was booked at New Year's and we are staying off-site (with friends at a condo.) We may only end up in the parks between 2-4 days. It just seems un-Disney to me!
My husband keeps reminding me that we have to take it slow this time. I will be 5 1/2 months pregnant and my girlfriend will be 7 months. We will have two toddlers along. Plus, our friend's toddler has a severe heart condition.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!
There are plenty of journals of people that stay off property out there. Don't shy away of writing your own TR because of that! Personally, my favorite moments of the trip is when we slow down and take it easy. It gives us the opportunity to look around, breath and really appreciate where we are. I would definitely read your TR if you decide to write one!

Cute update! It is great that they are adding to the Dumbo ride. I really don't get why that ride is so popular. The Aladdin carpets and dino ride in AK are exactly the same with no wait.

I am going to guess you went for a Dole whip to cool you down:thumbsup2

We tried Boma and Tuskerhouse for breakfast last year and to be honest I just don't remember Tusker House that well. I had a cold most of the trip so I ended up sticking to most of the basics and didn't try any of the unique stuff people claim they both have. The only thing that I remember about Boma that stood out was the goat cheese eggs which were awesome! We are repeating Boma this year and skipping Tuskerhouse. If I had a little one who liked characters I would most likely pick Tuskerhouse. If you get the 8:05adr you finish right before 9 and can get right over to the safari and be in the front of the line.

I guess Dumbo is just a classic and people like to be able to say they have done it! ;) I am really looking forward to the new ride though. Apparently it will be great.

Good guess! :thumbsup2

I really liked our meal at Boma on our last trip but I am trying to avoid too many trips to and from the resorts as I book my ADR's for our upcoming trip. I decided to give Tusker House a try. I read great things about it!

I knew about Cinderella's horse but I never thought of actually looking for it when we were there. I saw somewhere that every now and the Cinderella shows up to ride the horse herself.

Beatriz is a petite girl. Really pocket size. Not really sure where she got that from but I guess the glasses highlighted this fact.

joining in-love your report! Your daughter is precious!! Beautiful pictures-thanks for sharing!!

Thank you and :welcome:!

The surprise FP was really .... oh well.... a nice surprise. It made me wonder how often that happens...

Click here to see what the new dumbo ride is supposed to look like. Isn't that super exciting??

Thanks! She really loved her baby Simba and even slept holding on to it for a long time after we came home.

So it was maybe around 14h30 and everybody is feeling hot and cranky. We decided that maybe the best plan was to maybe go back to the hotel and put Beatriz down for a nap and come back to MK later to enjoy the park in the evening.

On our way out we decide to do a little detour at Adventureland for a Dole Whip. On our 2009 trip we never got to try one because our Magic Kingdom day was a rainy one. So this was the perfect opportunity. When we got to Aloha Isle I managed to grab a seat outside and sent Joey to buy our stuff while I prepared a nice "bottle" of milk for Beatriz.;)

Unfortunately at the very last minute I had a change of heart and asked him to get me a citrus swirl instead. I don't know why but I thought it was going to be a little like an orange sorbet, an orange version of a Dole Whip. Instead it was a creamy ice cream that did not hit the spot at all. :sad2:As a matter of fact it ended up in the garbage after a couple of bites.

31173_1487703069522_1142283436_1401090_828215_n.jpg

Joey offered to go get me a pineapple dole whip but the line was long and I just took a couple of more bites from his. I will know better for next time.

180275_1839731190005_1142283436_2173796_7337927_n.jpg

So we finished our refreshments, put Beatriz in the stroller and decided it was time to leave. Beatriz fell asleep immediately and was completely gone before we hit Main Street. Now we were once again forced to take a decision.

168428_1839731790020_1142283436_2173798_5833676_n.jpg

At this point I was afraid of waking her up by taking her out of the stroller into the bus. I did not want to risk having her waking up with a second wind of energy by the time we reach our hotel room. AND I was starting to think if we leave the park we might just be too lazy to come back.

By now the afternoon parade was about to start and I suggested that we would just stay and watch it. We had never seen that one (it was canceled because of the rain in 2009) and we could just seat and rest our feet for a bit. Joey agreed. He found a corner in the shade and he stayed there with Beatriz while I found a spot for me on the curb under the scorching sun. :cool2:

The parade was great! Too bad Beatriz missed it. I am sure she would have enjoyed all the characters. princess:

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. Joey stayed with the camera and he took them from his far away spot using the zoom.

So after the parade we decided to do something we hadn't done on that trip yet: shopping!

We are not huge shoppers but we could use some air conditioning so we did the tour of the shops on Main Street and I got some souvenirs for some friends back home. Joey got himself a t-shirt and I even managed to get myself a nice hoodie. I tried to find a picture of it at the Disney Store website but couldn't find it. Can't seem to be able to find a picture of myself wearing it either. :(

While we were shopping I started chatting with a CM and he asked me where we're from. When I said Montreal he said he used to visit Montreal often when he was a kid because he grew up in upstate NY in a town called Plattsburgh. He asked me if I had ever heard of it and I had to laugh. Plattsburgh is only 45 minutes away from my house and we go down fairly often because they have some essentials we don't find here like.... Target and Olive Garden . :rotfl:

When we were done shopping we felt the wonderful perfume coming from the MS Confectionery and we were immediately pulled inside. We were starting to get hungry again so we decided to share one of these.

31173_1487703109523_1142283436_1401091_1418030_n.jpg

Apparently the MKC is one of the few remaining places where you can get one of those with a snack credit. :thumbsup2

Anyways, with Beatriz still sleeping we just wandered around talking and people watching for a little bit since none of us were really interested in taking this time to go on a thrill ride by himself.

I know. We are boring people.

Before long, Beatriz was up again and boy what a difference a nap makes. She woke up all mellow and in a good mood. Ready to go see Belle at the Storytelling time with Belle.

I thought this show was intimate and super cute and probably the best interaction between a princess and the audience in the entire WDW. Beatriz drank it up. She was entranced by Belle the entire time and it was perfect for her age.

31173_1487703149524_1142283436_1401092_5831755_n.jpg

I would say older kids might enjoy it even more specially if they get picked to play a character on stage. They also pick a dad to play the Beast and I have to say Joey would have made a nice Beast but he did not get picked.

31173_1487703229526_1142283436_1401094_998504_n.jpg

Too bad this attraction is not there anymore. I hope they will have something similar on the new Beauty and the Beast land at Fantasyland.

At the end of the show Beatriz got to take her first picture of the trip with a princess and she LOVED it! That is when we realized her problem was with the masked characters but she was totally digging the princesses.

Last visit to Toontown
Super at Pecos Bill
Evening at MK

Hooray on your new trip ticker!!! One of your recent posts talked about dining plans, and then I saw the confirmation on my tr. I am really excited to hear about your plans as they develop!

Sounds like you made a great decision letting Beatriz nap. A little snooze can work wonders in attitude adjustment. Too bad on the citrus swirl treat. But now you know "Dole Whip- Accept No Substitutes!"

But that just left more room for your ice cream sandwich!

Glad you stayed around for more MK fun!

Yay, a new ticker! I can't wait to hear about your plans.

I was thinking about trying the citrus swirl, guess I should stick with the pineapple.

Glad Beatriz was able to get some rest and have somemore fun.

I wish the Belle show was still there. I really wanted to see it, but we missed it last trip. DD does want to meet Rapunzel, but I wish she had a regular meet and greet.

Cute parade pictures, too bad Beatriz missed it.

You don't sound boring at all to me, probably because that's what we would have done too.;) Beatriz looks sooooo cute in her picture with Belle.

Sorry your citrus swirl did not live up the Dole Whip.
But, that giant cookie sure does look good!!!!

I love the picture with Beatriz & Belle - 2 beautiful girls!

Hi Dee- I want to finish this TR before I start posting the details of our next trip but I am very excited about the choices we have made so far. ;)

I learned my lesson. The citrus swirl is not as near as refreshing as the dole whip which doesn't mean it is not good but it did not hit the spot for me at all.:sad2:

Beatriz has recently become obsessed with Rapunzel so I am sure she is going to love to be able to meet her too. :)

You don't sound boring at all to me, probably because that's what we would have done too.;) Beatriz looks sooooo cute in her picture with Belle.

Thanks! We do like to take things slowly most of the times. For our next trip we decided to take even more time off from the parks.

Sorry your citrus swirl did not live up the Dole Whip.

I love the picture with Beatriz & Belle - 2 beautiful girls!

That giant cookie was amazing. Next time we will probably get one each and count it as a meal. :rolleyes1

Have a great weekend everyone!

So after The Storytelling time with Belle we headed to Toontown Fair. It is such a fun place to visit and I am really sad to see it gone. I find it kind of weird that princesses are getting whole lands themed after themselves and yet Mickey and Minnie are going to be homeless from now on. :rotfl:

Anyways... here are some of the images:

Ask Joey what is his favorite thing about being on vacation and he will tell you: NOT SHAVING!

31173_1487703509533_1142283436_1401100_5034762_n.jpg

Since Beatriz was not tall enough to ride Barnstormer we let her play for around 15 minutes at the Toobtown little playground:

185799_1875622567267_1142283436_2242802_941475_n.jpg

I swear I had never even noticed that place existed. That is the thing of going to Disney with a toddler. You find many, many spots you had never noticed before. ;)

So after Toontown we headed to Tomorrowland and we rode Buzzlightyear Space ranger Spin using FP's we had collected earlier in the day and we also watched the Monsters Inc comedy show. I LOVE that show.

180572_1875545045329_1142283436_2242689_2462761_n.jpg

In 2009 they showed Beatriz in the big screen at the end of the show. They asked the audience something like "do you guys want to see something really, really, scary"? When everybody answered yes they showed up on the screen the guy they had picked on during the entire show. And then they asked "do you want to see something really, really cute?" When everybody shouted "yes" they showed Beatriz. It was a cute little surprise that made the whole thing that much more special.

By the time we left Monsters Inc we were starving again. So we headed to Pecos Bill. Somehow I ended up with no pictures of our meal. I think the place was really crowded but we really enjoyed our meal. It was our only "burger meal" of the entire trip (you gotta have at least one, right?) and it was very good. I thought the self- service condiment buffet was outstanding and I was able to make a whole meal for Beatriz from it. ;) I think we both had the Angus cheeseburger and carrot cake for dessert.

After our meal we walked around Frontierland for a while. I look forward to the day we can ride Splash mountain and the Big Thunder Mountain as a family. :grouphug: This time we just spent a couple of minutes people watching over there.

By the time we passed by in front of the Liberty Square Riverboat quai there was a boat leaving and I regretted not having hopped on it. I am sure it is a beautiful and relaxing ride that we would have been able to enjoy. I remember riding it once at Disneyland many, many years ago. I will try not to miss it next time.;)

So with full bellies and aching feet we decided it was time to go. It was around 8pm and Wishes was still 2 hours away but we had once again pulled a very long day and we were ready to go put our feet up.

So with our hearts content we stopped to take a last family picture and headed back to our hotel for a good night of sleep:

Next up:
Last park day. Which park did we chose to repeat?

Aw.... Beatriz looks so cute in Minnie's house. I am really excited to see the new Fantasyland when it is done, but I will miss seeing Mickey and Minnie's houses.

I have never seen the Monsters Inc. show. I am hoping to see it next time. It sounds cute.

It's it amazing how kids can find every little play area in Disney?

The day started just like the other ones:breakfast in our room looking at the animals. By this time Beatriz had developed the habit of calling for the animals from our terrace and I wonder if we ever woke some people up with all the yelling. :lmao:

31173_1487703789540_1142283436_1401105_1132835_n.jpg

183342_1880239842696_1142283436_2249400_314975_n.jpg

So we knew from the start that the park we wanted to repeat was Epcot. We had visited it on our first day but we had concentrated all our time and energy on Future World so we still wanted to take our time to explore World Showcase. We decided to do that in the afternoon because we had made reservations to Akershus for 6pm.

But what should we do in the morning?

I had tried to convince Joey we should go back to downtown Disney since we had seen nothing the day we stopped there for lunch on our way back from our DVC presentation. It sounded like a good idea but when we woke up that morning and saw the sun shinning outside  we knew we would rather spend more time in the pool. :lovestruc

I had seen a video on Youtube of the Samawati water playground at Kidani Village and was happy to find out that even though we were staying at Jambo House we were welcome to use it. So we packed our stuff and once again walked to Kidani Village. I thought we were going to be the first people in the swimming pool but I obviously underestimated the eagerness to swim of my fellow Disney travellers.

180404_1880233402535_1142283436_2249390_4464627_n.jpg

Now, I have to say. That place is AMAZING ( I know I have used this word a lot over here but it really is incredible). I wish I had been in a place like that when I was a kid. Joey and I totally reverted back into kids once we got there, by the way. It is such a cool place to spend quality time as a family. Needless to say, Beatriz had a blast. :yay:

I highly recommend everyone to stay at Kidani Village if not for anything else, for the Samawati water playground. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures because I was afraid to wet the camera and we were too busy having too much fun.

So we pretty much spent our whole morning over there and went back to our room to take a shower and change to go to Epcot. The plan was to try the fish & chips at the England pavillon but we decided we were too hungry to wait (the pool did open our apetite)so we headed down to Mara for our lunch.

Our Mara lunch was delicious. :) Another pleasant surprise. Every thing was tasty and hit the spot. I had the chicken flat bread and Joey had a ham, bacon and cheese sandwich. We also got Beatriz' favorite snack: carrot and celery sticks. For dessert? Zebra domes of course.

Now, with full bellies we were ready to go to the bus stop to grab our ride to Epcot but guess what???

It started pouring raining outside!!! :scared1:

.

I have really enjoyed you review. Cant wait to see what park you repeated.

Thank you! Update is up. ;)

Aw.... Beatriz looks so cute in Minnie's house. I am really excited to see the new Fantasyland when it is done, but I will miss seeing Mickey and Minnie's houses.

I have never seen the Monsters Inc. show. I am hoping to see it next time. It sounds cute.

You won't regret Monsters Ic. Laugh Floor. It is fun for the entire family. ;)

I've been following your trip report and thought I should say hello. Your daughter is beautiful!

*Epcot- World Showcase- Part 1*

We were not in the mood to brave the rain so we decided to wait at the lobby of the hotel for a while. It was our last full day and it was kinda sad to see families arriving to check-in. We were so jealous!:lmao:

It was not too long before the rain was over so we headed to the bus stop to catch our ride to the park. I don't think it ever rained at Epcot! Everything looked nice and dry and I saw no sign of the pouring we had back at AKL. :confused3 Go figure...

As we made it into the park I remembered I was supposed to be part of a DISmeet at the French pavillon at 14h00 but I never made it. :scared1: The last minute change of plans, the swimming, the lunch at Mara, the rain... it all made me lose track of time and I completely forgot about the meet. It made me feel like such a horrible DiSer. :sad2:

Anyways, we made a quick pit stop at Club Cool to try some drink flavours and I have to say I don't find Beverly all that bad. Not sure it deserves its rep but hey, I am known for having a peculiar taste. :rolleyes1

So we headed to World Showcase and started exploring it from the Canadian side. It seems like the last couple of times we were there we always started through Mexico but ran out of steam or time (or maybe both) by the time we hit Canada. So this time we decided to tackle it counterclockwise.

31173_1487704189550_1142283436_1401111_4772466_n.jpg

A lumberjack? Really? :sad2:
31173_1487704229551_1142283436_1401112_2064051_n.jpg

184824_1887398581660_1142283436_2262002_7159090_n.jpg

We took the time to watch the 360o O Canada movie! I had not seen the new version with Martin Short yet and I thought it was entertaining. There is a scene with an air shot of Montreal that you can see me neighborhood so that was kinda cool. Eva Avila (Canadian Idol winner a few years back) did a great job singing the attraction theme song ("Canada- You are a Lifetime Journey") and I had it stuck to my head for the rest of the day.

After the movie we let Beatriz run lose for a little bit. She was so happy!
180967_1887398701663_1142283436_2262003_2182189_n.jpg

From Canada we headed to United Kingdom and I have to say that UK is one of my favorite pavillons!! I love everything about it and it makes me want to visit London one day. On our next trip the fish and chips at the CS restaurant is an absolute must do. Just as I was starting to do some exploring inside the little tea gift shop we saw Mary Poppins which happens to me MY FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTER EVER :lovestruc walking by to assume her position at her meet and greet spot. We ran after her and were one of the first ones in line. ;)

By this time Beatriz had fully understood the concept of the autograph book and was totally into it.

185966_1887398941669_1142283436_2262004_5295566_n.jpg

31173_1487704269552_1142283436_1401113_2643577_n.jpg

Alice was also in England but we never made it into the line to meet her. Not sure why. I made a mental note to go back to England after super to see the "British Invasion" but somehow that never happened either. :rolleyes1

So we hopped to France. I want to take the time to watch "Impressions de France" on our next trip but this time around I just couldn't spare the time anymore. We had characters to chase after all... So we took some more pictures and even saw the Beast greeting guests but we knew it wouldn't be a good idea to try to get Beatriz to get too close from him. So I took a picture from far:

188902_1887425582335_1142283436_2262062_5822347_n.jpg

I also saw Marie from far but I don't think Beatriz was familiar with the movie "The Aristocats" by then so I did not bother.

From France to Morocco which happens to be my other favorite pavillon. The themeing is stunning. The atmosphere is so vibrant I could spend a lot of time at that place.

So we tried on some hats:

31173_1487704309553_1142283436_1401114_5304102_n.jpg

And guess who we found?

188533_1887467943394_1142283436_2262126_2568871_n.jpg

Now Beatriz gets off Jasmine's lap an asks her with her little voice: " Where is your daddy"? The CM did not skip a beat: "He is back in the palace teaching Alladin some lessons on how to be a sulton".

I thought it was so cute how she never got out of character and seemed to have an answer ready for everything!
