We want to do it all over again - minus the trip to the hospital! *COMPLETE*

I'm loving your TR so far!! I'm glad you got such quick medical care - Disney is outstanding in pleasing their guests :thumbsup2

Your little daughter is adorable - I hope she warms up to the characters before the end of the trip. I love watching Illuminations from Japan
Thank you and :welcome: to my journal!

Yes, I love your TR so far! I never knew they would bring you to the celebration hospital and back either. I had to go once when I was traveling alone and ended up with a lung infection but I had a rental car. Thinking back now I probably should not have been driving myself since I was having problems even breathing whoops! :rotfl2:

I'm so glad B had a fun day with your sister and BiL. When I was reading at first I was worried she might have a melt down without you both there.

Can't wait to read more!

*May, 24th 2010- Back at Animal Kingdom and lunch at Flame Tree BBQ*

So believe it or not we made it for the 13h00 show of Nemo- the musical . My sister and BIL could hardly believe we were back so soon. I guess they were really enjoying their alone time with Beatriz. ;)

On our 2009 visit to Animal Kingdom we had missed the Nemo show so I was really looking forward to it. And I LOVED it! :lovestruc The mise en scene is incredibly well done and I thought the music was awesome. It did not take away from the movie at all. Don't tell anyone but I even cried once or twice. :rotfl2: The cute thing is that as soon as the show ended, Beatriz looked at us and said: "Again"! I guess she got over her trauma of Crush after all...

Once we were done with the show Joey and I were starving! Our breakfast in our balcony in the morning was so far away you could actually hear our stomachs growling. So it was our turn to head to Flame Tree BBQ. While Joey was ordering the food I put Beatriz in her stroller and we stopped to listen to the performance of the "Village Beatniks". popcorn:: When I looked down on the stroller to check on her I realized she had fallen asleep. Trust a two year old to fall asleep in the loudest places....

Once Joey had the food we picked a table in a calm area outside and took our sweet time to have our meal. What a morning we had had!

We both had the ribs and we loved it. I love ribs and I have to say they were nice and tender. For dessert I had the key lime mousse and it was ok. I have had better but it was not that bad either. I am sorry there are no pictures. I guess we were too hungry for that.

Ok, so I "stole" a picture from the Disney Food Blog:
ribs.jpg

After our lunch we found this nice spot to take a couple of pictures. I've just realized I did not take too many pictures on our Animal Kingdom day. I guess it is because the park was fairly crowded (at least it was for us ) and we felt we had to keep on moving. But we found this quiet spot near the restaurant with a great view of Expedition Everest and we took advantage of it:

34390_1632718254811_1142283436_1773895_3506256_n.jpg

And then we headed to It is Tough to Be a Bug. Since Beatriz was still sleeping and we did not want to take her out of the stroller Joey volunteered to stay out with her relaxing under a shade while the three of us went in the attraction. It worked out great since it gave Joey a little break and I have a feeling Beatriz would have been scared of the bugs.

When we came out of the attraction Beatriz was up (not much of a long nap) and it was hot so we went looking for something to refresh us. Here we are with our Mickey ice cream. It was actually the first time we were using a snack credit from our plan:

31173_1487699389430_1142283436_1401020_165060_n.jpg

Please ignore the cold sore on my lower lip. Side effect of the exposure to the sun.:confused3

61593_1632718294812_1142283436_1773896_986813_n.jpg

Then it was time to do Expedition Everest. My sister and BIL had collected two FP's before we stopped for our lunch so we used them up. We combined them with the swap tickets so we all got to ride it once. I think Joey and I went first and while we were waiting for their turn we did a bathroom break.

On a side note: I had started potty training Beatriz a couple of weeks before our trip but she was nowhere near ready by the time of our trip so I did what all the parenting books tell you NOT to do. I put her back in diapers for her trip. :scared1:

It was so much easier to change diapers than to continue potty training her at Disney. Thankfully it was not hard at all to get back to it once we got back home. Actually, it was pretty easy when I told her that the princesses had asked me to tell her it was time to use the potty at all times. A real princess does not wear diapers after all! :rolleyes1

So after Expedition Everest we headed to The Festival of the Lion King. At that point we decided to split with my sister and BIL again. They were NOT in the mood for the "Festival" and they still hadn't ridden DINOSAUR. So we went each our own way. We were going to regroup at night for super.

Unfortunately once again we ended up in the very back of the theatre and as much as I love the show I know it can be so much better if we ever get to seat at the front. There is something about the system they use - filling up one section completely before moving on to the other one- that is kinda unfair since some people who got there after us ended up with a better view. :( Oh well... maybe next time. Beatriz did not seem to mind. She sang along and clapped the whole time.

During our breakfast in our room that morning we were talking to Beatriz about all the characters that she could meet that day. We explained to her that she had to be brave and not be scared because the characters were nice and happy to meet her even though they were so much bigger than her. When we asked if she wanted to try to take a picture with Mickey Mouse again she said no. "I want to take a picture with Minnie".

As we headed out of FOTLK we asked her if she wanted to see Minnie and she said yes. So we got on the Minnie line and I could tell Beatriz was a little nervous. When it was our turn she held on tight to me but put on a brave face, said hi to Minnie and took the picture.

31173_1487699429431_1142283436_1401021_7967497_n.jpg

She was so happy with herself. :lovestruc She worked hard to overcome her fear and I could tell she was proud of herself. Her giggle was priceless. I guess they call it a Disney magical moment. ;)

We also saw Thumper from Bambi and she said she wanted a picture with him too. We thought about getting in line but at about this time this big storm was starting to form right over Animal Kingdom. We could here the thunders, it got windy all of a sudden and some mighty gray clouds were looming right over our heads. So we decided to follow the stampede out of the park. :(

It was close to 5 o'clock. We never made it to the Boneyard or to the Affection Section. But it is OK. "Next time"!

We made it to our bus stop right in time. The rain came pouring down just as we were under the shelter. Beatriz thought the thunders were a little too loud:

All in all it turned out t be a nice day even though I had to miss a couple of hours of "Disney time" at the hospital but let's face it, it could have been much worst.

Here's my favorite picture of the day:

Next up:
Super at Boma

So glad to see another update to your report! I am impressed to see how much you were able to do at Animal Kindom, despite your little "side trip".

It is nice that Beatriz had a well placed nap. Would she have been ok in It's Tough to be a Bug? My boys didn't like it, and they were 9 and 6 when they went. I have never heard so much hysterical crying and screaming at another Disney attraction.

Great photo of you and your husband in front of Everest. What a great spot! And I agree, the one of you and Beatriz growling is adorable!

Sounds like you had a great time at the shows!

My family LOVES Boma, so I am really excited to read your next update!

Great update!

You sure were productive once you got to the park....you accomplished alot!

Love the pics...can't wait for more!

I just found your TR this morning and I am hooked! So sorry about your hospital adventure, when I was younger I had a fever of 105 so we ended up in the emergency room instead of spending time in Disney:rolleyes: I'm gad you made the best of it and i'll be subbing:goodvibes

The more I think about it the more I realize it is on Disny's best interest to provide transportation to a near by hospital. Get the sick people out of the parks as soon as possible so we do not ruin the magic for the other guests, I guess. :lmao:

I am glad you made safe to the hospital yourself. An infection in the lung sounds like serious stuff.

Yes, Beatriz was a very good girl and made it easy on everybody.

BTW, :welcome: to my TR!

I do not think Beatriz would have been OK at ITTBAB. :( If you had asked me this before our trip I would have said she'd be fine but seeing how she reacted to other mild stuff (like the Coral Reef aquarium for example) I know it would have been bad. And it would probably have ruined future visits to other theaters like "The Little Mermaid", for example.

Great update!

Thanks. I wish we could have done more but given the circumstances I guess we did pretty well. Next time I might even try to get her a face painting.

Hello there Gabbie and :welcome: to my YR. It is really a bummer when you have to miss out on Disney time to go to the hospital  but I guess it becomes a interesting part of your trip memories. I am sorry you had high fever during your vacation. Hopefully everything turned out ok. :flower3:

So we made it back to our room and while I was taking a shower with Bea, Joey checked on- line for pharmacies in Orlando. We had brought our laptop and our own Internet card so we had Internet access in our room. :surfweb:

He started making some phone calls looking for a 24- hour- pharmacy or at least one that stays opened opened until midnight. The plan was to have our super at Boma with my sister and BIL at 20h00 and then go with their car to get my prescription somewhere.

It sounds simple but apparently it is not.

First, it seemed like all the pharmacies closed at 9pm or something and we were also told it takes a couple of HOURS for them to be able to prepare the prescription. I found that a little weird since back home you can go in at any pharmacy and you will get your prescription ready in 15 to 20 minutes. :confused3

So now we had another dilemma. :crazy2:

Since it was the last evening with my sister I was really looking forward to our last meal together. But apparently we had no choice but to cancel it so we could go to the pharmacy before its closing time. Because my sister was leaving the next day it was our only chance to go with their car. If we decided to wait until the next day we would probably have to take a taxi and miss out on more Disney time. :sad2:.

We were getting a little frustrated since it was getting late (around 18h30) and we had to take a decision. :hourglass:

My sister and BIL were on their way to our hotel when I had an epiphany. I remember just turning to Joey and saying: "I cannot believe I am the first person ever to need a prescription during their stay at a Disney hotel. I cannot believe everyone in my situation had to grab a cab and lose out on their vacation time to go to a pharmacy. There must be another way"!

Then we had an . Something we should have thought of WAY earlier. We called the front desk and explained our situation. They offered to fax my prescription to a nearby pharmacy and they would deliver it to us that same night for a $5.00 fee.

THAT IS IT???? We have been breaking a sweat for nothing all along. Of course they can take care of it!!! :)

So Joey ran downstairs to fax the prescription and I even added some extra items to my list like band-aids and sun block for my lips. A couple of minutes later they called our room from the pharmacy to confirm the order and the price of the medication and that was it. We were done.

By the time my sister and BIL arrived they were very happy to know we would not even have to get out of the hotel for the evening. We could finally relax.

So we finished getting ready and headed down for our meal at Boma just a bit before 8 'clock.

I have to say the waiting area for Boma was full of people and we were given a buzzer and told to wait. And waited we did. For good 20 minutes. It was the longest wait for an ADR of the whole trip and the smell of the food was just torturing us! :(

So we took the time to take some pictures. That area of te resort is a bit dark and I guess I did not have the good setting on my camera so they did not turn out too good. These are some of the most decent shots:

30708_1492572076953_1313555121_1339111_360420_n.jpg

30708_1492572196956_1313555121_1339113_8022429_n.jpg

By the time we were seated we were soooooo ready to eat. I was a little nervous about coming to Boma since my BIL is not an adventurous eater but I am glad to report that he loved it. :lovestruc

I have no pictures of the food but I remember I tried all types of different soups and I went back for seconds and third dishes. It was here that I had the pomegranate lemonade for the first time and got completely addicted. Unfortunately the other memories of that meal are all a little bit hazy. :upsidedow I think it was late and Beatriz was over tired. She had only taken a small nap in the afternoon so she was literally bouncing off the walls.:yay: It was not a very relaxed meal but I remember loving the food. Everybody on the table kept singing praises to the food the whole time so I gave myself a tap in the back as the trip planner.

31173_1487699509433_1142283436_1401023_8083495_n.jpg

We had zebra domes for dessert (among other things) and the waiter even brought Beatriz some ice cream. I thought it was very nice of him since she technically was not in the dining plan. On a future trip I would like to try Boma for breakfast. Apparently the fruit juices are amazing!

So after our meal we passed at the front desk and guess what?? My prescription had arrived! Nice and easy! The pharmacy charged us in our KTTW card so it worked out perfectly! :)

So we all went back to our room and I tried to put Beatriz to bed. She wasn't having it. She was having too much fun with her uncle.

Joey and I had bought a bottle of Limoncello at the airport's Duty Free so we just poured ourselves some and chit chatted away.

My sister also patiently evaluated my knee and my back and even taped my knee to help me with the walking in the following days. The perks of having a physiotherapist in the family...

So that was it for day three. All in all a pretty eventful day with a happy ending.

Next up:
Saying good bye to my sister
Disney Hollywood Studios.

Nice update. So glad you thought to call the front desk. As I'm reading your report, I'm screaming in my head (The pharmacy will ship to the resort, the pharmacy will ship to the resort)! We had medication delivered for my son's stomach issues in 2008.

Boma is great for dinner and breakfast. It is certainly understandable that Beatriz was having a tough time at the late dinner, especially with the wait. But you still have some wonderful pictures of your family- with your sister and at the table. Nice!

I was so relieved to read that you didn't have to give up your dinner with your sister and her husband. Disney is so wonderfu in helping their guests.

We have never eaten at Boma but it certainly sounds like me may have to give it a try.

Tuesday- May, 25th 2010- Disney Hollywood Studios

So the day started off as usual. Wake-up call, getting dressed and breakfast in our room enjoying the view of the animals from our balcony.

It never got old. :)

Unfortunately that was also the day my sister and brother-in-law had to leave. It was too bad they could not stay for the whole week but I am so thankful they made the effort to join for three days. They had breakfast at their hotel, checked- out and came over to say good-bye to us. We met them at the lobby and took the time to take some last pictures together:

Saying good- bye was VERY sad. :( It is in times like these that I feel specially guilty for bringing up my daughter so far from my family.

So we hugged and kissed each other several times and we also cried a lot. I am sure people were staring but I don't care. She is my baby sister and at that point we didn't know when we would see each other again. Now we decided to go visit hem in Tennessee at the end of December.

Anyways, my BIL thanked me several times for doing all the planning and he even said that he wished he could stay longer just to see what else I had in store for us. I thought that was cute. I guess we will just have to plan another Disney trip together...

So we finished saying our good-byes and walked them outside. We then walked to the bus stop to go to DHS!!! :) I don't really remember if we waited too long for the bus but I do remember I was still fighting some tears and Joey was doing his best to console me.

We got to DHS a little before 10am and we walked straight to Toy Story Mania to secure our FP's. The return time for Toy Story Mania was 2h30 pm. Nice!

31173_1487699709438_1142283436_1401026_6367559_n.jpg

I have to say it was a VERY hot and VERY humid and I quickly regretted wearing a black t-shirt. What was I thinking??? :scared1:

31173_1487699829441_1142283436_1401029_7664600_n.jpg

So we got on the line at Pixar Place for some pictures with Woody and Buzz. We asked Beatriz if she wanted to meet them and she said yes. I have to say Beatriz is a Toy Story kind of girl. She loves Jessie more than she loves any princess so Pixar Place was a must do for us.

While waiting in line Beatriz (and ourselves) had fun taking pictures with the props:

31173_1487831312728_1142283436_1401383_1089646_n.jpg

31173_1487831392730_1142283436_1401385_1682959_n.jpg

But by the time we actually reached the room with the characters she got scared and did not want to be near then.

So Joey volunteered to take the pictures with Woody and Buzz while I had Bea in my arms. I have to admit they are very big, specially for a 2 year old.

31173_1487699749439_1142283436_1401027_3044571_n.jpg

Now right outside Pixar Place we got into a little store and Beatriz found these guys:

31173_1487699789440_1142283436_1401028_7406086_n.jpg

She looked at me and said: "Here mommy. I am not afraid anymore!"
I guess every time we asked her if she wanted meet the characters she thought in her head they were going to be small like that. That is why she kept saying "yes" but turning totally afraid when faced with the "real" ones.

So according to the original "plan" now it was time to go see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid but I think the line was too long and we decided to go secure a good spot at "The Beauty and the Beast" show instead.

W got there at least 30 minutes before the starting time and we got some great seats. The hard part was to find something to entertain us in the meantime. ;)

So we took some pictures and tried to mingle with the people around us:
66520_1654469598581_1142283436_1817772_2544084_n.jpg

The show did not start on time and they kept playing this message of Mrs. Pots apologizing for the delay. :sad2: Just as I was starting to get restless in came Belle:

Lunch at Starring Rolls.

Awwww, I hated the part about you and your sister having to say goodbye. But, I was happy to hear that you've decided to go visit them in December.

Poor Beatriz being scared of the characters. They can be quit intimidating in size for the little ones.

Oh, how sad. We're pretty far away from family too. For me, the guilt gets worse every year. DD really enjoys visiting family & I always feel so bad taking her home. On the bright side, the visits are more special because they don't happen everyday.

Forget princesses, we can't get enough of the Toy Story characters! I made DD a Buzz Lightyear dress because he's her favorite, she loves dresses & you can't buy any girly Lightyear stuff in the stores. Maybe the princess stuff comes when they get a little older.

I know! Hopefully she will grow to love them by the time we go back to WDW. ;)

I know exactly what you mean! When you live near family you tend to take time together for granted but for us it is always special. Very little drama and nice memories. ;)

That is so cool you got to make her a Buzz outfit. We were disappointed with the variety of Toy Story stuff available at the parks. My husband wanted a Buzz t-shirt for himself and he couldn't find it. :confused3

So before I go on I have to post this picture we took of Beatriz at the exit of the Beauty and the Beast theater:

31173_1487831472732_1142283436_1401386_4522940_n.jpg

We had taken one together 15 months earlier and it was nice to see how much Beatriz had grown. :lovestruc

n1142283436_360889_1864925.jpg

I think I will try to make this "our spot" and maybe take a picture there every time we visit.

So it was around noon and we decided we were ready for an "early lunch". So we headed to Starring Rolls. I think I had never even noticed this place before but I had read wonderful things about it here at he DIS boards and at the Disney food blog so I knew we were going to love it.

Using two quick- service credits we got a ham sandwich and a turkey sandwich, a bag of chips and a banana, a lemonade and an iced coffee and a tiramisu and a cupcake for dessert.

31173_1487699909443_1142283436_1401031_6537696_n.jpg

I have to say it was a nice break from the "heavier" type of food we had been eating the whole week. The sandwiches were so tasty and fresh AND the butter finger cupcake was from OUT OF THIS WORLD. :cloud9: I had read somewhere that it was big enough for two people but I had the whole thing for myself.

And I did not feel guilty at all.

The only complaint I have is that the place is really small and ordering was a bit confusing with some people elbowing each other at the counter. I guess the variety of offerings is so great that it gets people confused and there was not a clear queue so some people were just trying to yell their orders at the poor CM's. :confused3

Once I finally managed to get our food Joey was outside trying to grab a table. There is very little seating available and some people were taking their sweet time even though they had already finished eating so we patiently waited until we were finally able to sit.

Now as soon as we sat down and I took the picture posted above this out- of- nowhere- Florida type of rain started pouring down on us but we decided to stay put and hope the little umbrella would be a big enough protection. It turns out it wasn't. As the rain started falling harder we started getting wet and, even worse, our food was in jeopardy of getting wet too. :scared1:

So we picked up everything (stroller and all) and ran back inside the restaurant where at least another 15- 20 people were standing hiding from the rain. So we claimed a little corner for ourselves and ate our food standing up by Bea's stroller.

Of course, 20 minutes later there was no trace of the rain and the sun was shinning brighter than ever but it was enough to "spoil" our lunch break. :sad2:

I have to say I really loved all the quick-service spots we chose for this trip and I would eat at all of them again and again. Starring Rolls was no different. I am really hoping for an opportunity of going back there and enjoying my meal the way I intended to.

So after lunch we saw The Little Mermaid show and Beatriz really liked it. I think those two shows were right up her ally. She had seen the movies, she knew the songs so I could tell she was having a good time.

After the show we headed to the Animation Building. I LOVE the movie UP and I was a little bummed they had replaced the picture spot with Russle and Mr Frederickson with Lotso from TS3 a couple of weeks before our trip.

So we stood in line for The Incredibles instead. It is one of Joey's favorite movies and he had even dressed up specially for the occasion. I should mention that the CM behind the face of Mr. Incredible was the most incredible one (no pun intended) we have ever encountered. I was really impressed on how hard he was working to interact with everybody and make it a real memorable moment for every one there. It was really cute and thoughtful considering he can't even talk behind that mask.

So I had made an autograph book for Beatriz and even though I had included a page for Mrs. Incredible, I didn't make one for Mr. Incredible. :sad2:

Shame on me, I know. :guilty:

I had read somewhere that he does not sign the books but I failed to realize that even though some characters don't sign they do stamp the book.

So when it was our turn Mr. Incredible made a special fuss around Joey and when we handed him the book, he looked for his page but couldn't find it. :rolleyes1 He gestured to Joey "where is my page?" and Joey threw me under the bus by saying: "I don't know man. My wife is responsible for this book. You ask her."

Mrs Incredible gave me a sympathy hug and her best "Oh this men are really unbelievable, aren't they? " gestures.

It was laugh out loud moment even though Beatriz was not too thrilled to be there.

What a cute update! Loved the pic of Beatriz in front of Beauty & the Beast - 15 months apart :lovestruc Little ones grow up SO fast! Your lunch at Starring Rolls looks yummy - we may have to try eating there. I wasn't certain where to use our CS credits at HS and now I have a better choice!

Great update! I can't believe how much Bea has grown when I looked at the two pictures. You should definitely make that your "go to" picture spot.

Too bad that you had to rush back into Starring Rolls to finish up your lunch. Florida weather can be so fickle.

Looking forward to more!

Great updates Q!!

You saying goodbye to your sister made me weepy...I am so blessed to have my sister 15 minutes away....she used to live in Vancouver so to have them close now is fantastic!!!

I love that idea of making the entrance to Beauty and the Beast your special spot for pictures in the future....hard to believe how she changed in 15 months....she's a little angel:cloud9:
