We bought our first points in 2006 - then we used those points plus borrowed and took our first DVC trip as a Disney Cruise - we wound up buying additional points on the cruise (LOL). We loved it - and we don't have any young children - all ours are grown with kids of their own.

Congrats!! I know what you mean about the developer points. We just got back from WDW on June 4th purchase 160 points on June 16th have a trip planned for May/June 09 and so now have fit another trip in between now and then, LOL... poor us Thanks goodness we have accumulated plenty of free Southwest roundtrip flights and we got 500 bonus rewards points on our Disney Visa so that will cover food and random things that my kiddos think they can't live without, should turn out to be basically a free trip all around. I would love to go for Thanksgiving but I know there is no way I'll get that so I have a trip planned for early October and hope to do the MNSSHP for the first time.

We are incredibly excited, but also scratching our heads as we were told by our guide that we can use the points through II or at SSR and trying to figure out where to take the points. We're going to be at the WLV in December (not on points...we booked this in Jan. before we got wise and realized that since we are pretty much going every year now it made sense to join) so I'm thinking we'll do II somewhere in the Carribean...Anyone been to any of the II resorts down there?
