We stayed in Cinderella's Castle

I keep coming back to look at those wonderful pics OP... :) *sigh* shame I won't be eligible this year

Contragulations...(obviously)
Notice they were selected at 10:10 am. If I recall correctly, the first family chosen was also chosen at 10:10 a.m. Note to self....be in the parks at 10:10 am!
Disney needs the time to award, find a second or third family if the previous winners reject the prize, set up the parade bit, tour and let the winners collect personal items for the night. All in all, I'd say the winning family will be confirmed before 10:30am.

You might want to add: Be on a ride at 10:10am as that's the only way they can pinpoint a "winner" other than guest #xxx through the gate.

gogriz,

What an awesome experience! :thumbsup2

Your tag may say "earning my ears," but I'd be willing to bet that the tag fairy will give you a tag about being lucky enough to stay in the castle! Your youngest may be only four, but she'll never forget it, either.

Thank you for sharing your experience and photos, how wonderful for your family - you will never forget it!

Congratulations! That is beyond wonderful!

I would have been totally nervous too when they said that you were "a finalist" to win the stay at the castle. I wouldn't want my family to get their hopes up to soon either! That's a really good tip for anyone else who could possibly win that understands that they just want to make sure you do not work for Disney, related to someone who does or live in a qualifying state...I wonder what areas do not qualify? Hmmm.

I don't know what I would do! OMG...I would probably be so nervous I would just be without words! I wouldn't know wether to start filming or taking 1 million pictures...OMG. Were you able to actually fall asleep that night in the room?

That's really wonderful. I hope your family has this memory for life!

WOW!!! Congratulations!!! Feb. 5th was our last vacation day at WDW! So cool to hear about your stay. I hope there are many more DIS'ers who get the chance. The suite is so awesome looking and what a fun day being in the parade, dinner at CRT, the P&P party. WOW!

Thanks for telling us and posting your pictures, they are great!

You are right: your daughter IS adorable in her Cindy dress!

Wonderful photos!

Thanks so much!!

I ran in and bought the whole outfit after the little parade we were in and before the big parade started. My husband and I decided that she HAD to have it if she was going to eat dinner at Cinderella's Table and go to the P&P party. That store was one of the first places I told someone what we had one. The cashier saw my button and asked what I had won. The whole time I was wanting to tell everyone:woohoo: who came within ten feet of me but at the same time I didn't want to brag. I tried to be cool :cool1: and said, "Oh, we won the night in the castle." She nearly fainted and called over three other CMs. At that point I think I got the idea of exactly how big it was going to be:idea: . We lost the wand that night but I ordered a new one over the phone today. I intend to make shadow box displays for each of the girls and that dress and all its accessories are going in hers. I have never in my life had "things" that I never, ever, ever, ever intend to part with--the special ears, our room keys with our names on them, the stationary from the suite, the "Do Not Disturb" sign, the buttons.

Thank you very much:)

I only slept about 10-15 minutes at a time. I got up 50 times to look at everything--out the windows, at the murals in the bathroom, all the great Cinderella themed decorations. When I was laying down, I kept replaying everything over and over in my head. I didn't want to miss anything. I wish that I had known more about the suite before we won, but if I had, I probably would have fainted when I saw the 62 carat diamond tiara that is worth more than my house. I HAD NO IDEA!!

I just want to say to everyone who has posted or taken the time to even read about our experience--WOW!!! As amazing as the whole experience was, you all have been more amazing than that with all your positive, creative, kind comments. I hope that lots of people with your kind of passion win this particular prize.

Gogriz,
I want to say Thanks for sharing your story and thanks for taking the time to tell us all the 'details'. Your night at the castle sounds simply magical. What a wonderful experience to share with your girls. What a wonderful memory.

How did your DD's friends react when she told them about your experience....especially the 14 yo. I can imagine that they were like...WOW!!!
I bet your family are Disney fans for life now.

We had our first trip in 2005 and we can home feeling like we had experienced a most magical and family bonding vacation ever. I can only imagine how you all must feel. Had you been to WDW before?

Could you answer a couple more questions for me?
Where is the VIP viewing area...for the parade and fireworks? What type of goodies did they have stocked in your suite/fridge?

Thanks again. BTW, your pictures are great. Can't wait to see your PhotoPass ones.

I've got a question!! :goodvibes

What was it like when you entered the Castle to go to your room? Was there any kind of ceremony? Who walked you up? What time was it when you first entered the room?

How did they bring your luggage up to your room?

Any goodies waiting for you besides the chocolate slipper and truffles?

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Today is my son's 9th birthday and we leave next Tuesday for WDW. What a dream come true for your family. We were there in December and saw a family just behind us win a trip. Yes, I am jealous. But my prize will come some day. The suite would be sweet.
Congrats to you.
