Just the HINT of your reviews makes us all quivery with excitement!

Your birthday is one day before mine ... but add 12 years and you have my age :scared1: ... arg .... when did I become my mother? I think I remember from one of your other reviews that your birthday was a day before mine but I AM older than you so am allowed to forget.

Can't wait to read about your foodie adventures! :thumbsup2

And then I shocked the CM by requesting a swirlie.

I would have known what you meant by wanting a swirlie but up here in CT we call them a twist. I have never had a Dole Whip but that is definately one I am going to try, even if it's just to say I had one.

Dole whip with Alcohol!!!!!!

Yes!!! It's called the Pineapple Dream. They have it at the pool @ the Poly. It's Dole Whip + Southern Comfort + Butterscotch Schnapps + Captain Morgan.

Yummy sounds good

I just had to mention this ...

Next Friday is Halloween and I don't know about your city, but in St. Louis the traffic is awful ... highways clogged with people tryinng to get home in time to take their little ghoulies out for free candy.

So Jay and I always meet somewhere for dinner rather than spend two hours in traffic trying to get home.

Next Friday we're going to try a new sushi place in Chesterfield called Tsunami. They have an awesome menu including items like Squid Viscious and Marilyn Monroll. :lmao:

We're planning on taking the camera and writing a review that we'll post to the blog.

Just thought you'd like to know. ;)

I'll be sure to read it

To begin with, I chose something Halloweenie (tee hee) because we were skipping Mickey's Halloween party again this year - troughing wins out over a costume party every time! I selected something the florist calls A Tricky Treat. It's described as follows: this frightfully fun apple is dipped in caramel and fudge and then drizzled with a white chocolate web. You will scream with delight when you find a sneaky spider atop a festive orange rose trying to take a bite of your delicious apple!

This first picture is the front, with the florist card and the fun little sign at the top of the package which read: Trick or Treat, friend or foe, take a bite and then you'll know!

Take a look!

It's Festive!

This second picture gives a much better view of the apple itself. It was huge and really heavy ... later in the week we actually ate a portion of it for breakfast one morning. Someone gave this apple a mega-bath, first in caramel and then in chocolate - I mean it was coated in sugar-laden, tooth-decaying goodness. Truthfully, it really was too sweet and it was too much for us to finish in one sitting, which means that half of it spoiled before our trip was over. But it was still tasty and fun ... I loved the orange rose which was spinkled with gold glitter and stayed fresh and pretty for an entire week.

Your teeth will never be the same.

The other item that I ordered was actually more appropriate for us and something we enjoyed throughout the length of our stay. This is called Treasured Treats and is described as follows: Truly a treasure of wonderful treats to give as a gift or enjoy all for yourself. Four small liquors, cheese, crackers, pretzels and more inside a chest you'll want to keep for your treasures at home as well.

That's right ... this giftie included booze! How could I pass it up?

Trunk o' Treats!

Free the Treats!

That apple sounds and looks great. The trunk o treats looks great as well. I also have one question, what is a DINK? It is probably some acronym for something I just can't figure it out. Also where do you purchase those things from? When we go next year it would be nice to have something delivered for the kiddos.

Double Income, No Kids. I was one of those a dozen years ago...can hardly remember what it was like :)

I love the Treasured treats basket. Now I have to look at their website.:goodvibes

You had me at "four small liquors" . . .:rotfl2: That Trunk 'o Treats looks GOOD!:thumbsup2

I'm really looking forward to your review of Raglan Road. I gave each person in the family one restaurant request for our April trip, and I chose Raglan Road. Hubby chose Teppan Edo, and I really don't see a lot of reviews for that. Any experience with that one?

I'm going to try really hard to stay on top of this thread -- I just love your reviews.:goodvibes

Hi Lori! The picture of the trunk on the florist's website had me at "liquor" too! :lmao:

I hope to get Raglan Road up by Sunday but don't hold me to that. ;) We've been to RR something like three or four times now and we've loved it each time ... I know some people have had less than stellar experiences there but we always have great food and fun.

And going forward it should be easier to stay on top of things here ... don't expect this many updates in one week all the time!

Brenda,

Enjoying your reviews, as always. Just started at the beginning of your blog as well and enjoying that just as much!

I always enjoy reading about kindred foodie and liquorie (is that a word?) spirits (<--- look, a pun! Liquor, spirits....ah forget it).

Brad

Hey Brad! Thanks for the kind words - I really appreciate them! And I think the pun is awesome ... I loves me a good pun! :thumbsup2

Those treats look so good! I had a wonderful boss once who made all of us in her unit a dipped pear for Christmas. It was beautiful and yummy. The treasure chest gives me an idea for a Halloween centerpiece.....thanks!

(I'm still feeling guilty for not liking the Mickey bar; it does seem like a direct insult to the Mouse, doesn't it? )

Mmmmm, dipped pears. Those sound pretty tasty right about now. And I wouldn't worry about not liking the Mickey Bar ... you like cheese, don't you? ;)

Brenda - Love that goodie basket with the little bottles....;) Can't wait to read about Raglan, we're trying it in a few weeks!

I think you're really going to like Raglan Road once you get there ... I sure hope you do!

I think that is right about where you had me too!

So at some point before finishing up the last couple things here at work, I am going to hit up the WDW Florist website and have something tasty delivered to my room (especially since I completely messed up the surprise basket I was planning on having in our stateroom for my DH) <need a "p'ed" off smiley>!

Thanks for this installment! I was hoping to get this one in before I left. Now I can look forward to the long ones when I come back. Right? LOL.

Have a great trip and thanks for taking the time to read while you're trying to get ready to leave. And oh yes ... the long ones are coming ... and coming ... and coming. :lmao:

The orange swirly by the Tiki Birds is called a Citrus Swirl (yummy), and over at Beaches and Cream they have a delightful little thing called Frozen Sunshine (yummier by far).

As a devotee of all things orange and vanilla, I want to know what the one at the Land is all about! :yay:

And Brenda, that trunk looked loverly - I'm a lightweight when it comes to booze, but I can handle the sweet creamy Irish-y kind (aka Bailey's, my favorite), and spreadable cheese alongside fancy crackers just makes life better, don't you think?

Hiya Litebrite! The Bailey's was quite tasty ... we chilled it in the refrigerator and then added it to some cold milk and munched on some chocolate. It was blissssssss ... :cloud9:

Those goodies from the Disney Florist look great, loving the little bottles of booze. Looking forward to Raglan Road its one of our favourites x

We love Raglan Road, too ... it's always a good good time!

Oh, those are cute...
I recently discovered liquor chocolate...little spoonfulls of booze in chocolate. http://www.yummies.com/browse.cfm/2,11.html and they're candy, so you could bring as many as you wanted on the plane.

Hi Hedy! Yum ... chocolate and booze infused together .... it should probably be illegal!

Oh Brenda, you started without me (pouts!)

Forgive me, Bendy, for I am late - I do have a note from my Mother, though, and I stayed behind after class so I could catch up on your latest escapades. It looks as though I haven't missed much yet so do feel free to continue now :) I'm living vicariously through food reviews until next October - it seems such a long way away.

Hiya Joh! No apologies needed ... I think it's physically impossible to be late to my reviews since they drag on forever! And October will be here before you know it and I think there's gonna be a big DISmeet at WDW in Fall 2009!

Hey! I recognize that cognac! I have to buy some emergency chocolate to eat with it. I'll try not to be a bastage and drink it soon. ;)

Be sure to let us know how it is! If you don't like it I'm gonna feel like a fargin icehole.

Oh, when I saw the Friend or Foe thing, I thought you had gotten Severus Snape's trick or treat apple. ;)

Oh, that's awesome! I didn't even think about that!

That Halloweeny one was awesome! :thumbsup2 Very well decorated. I never think to order anything like that, might have to keep that in mind for future trips :goodvibes

Hi Cass! You know ... if you don't order anything from the WDW Florist you can order something from DCL for you and Rob to share in your cabin. Jay and I usually order the fruit and cheese plate with a bottle of wine ... :thumbsup2

I love traveling Brenda style! You take an already wonderful thing and plus it a la Walt himself.

Hey lady! How ya been? Thanks for re-living the vacation splurgies with us ... it's so fun!

heading to check out WDW Florist...

Don't get sticker shock ... some items are more "reasonably" priced than others. I hope you find something you like!

Note to self: Talk, cry, scream, talk more, cry harder, scream louder...get chocolate. :goodvibes

Hmmmm, I tried that here at work and they asked me to leave. Remind me to do that again tomorrow but at 10:00 am instead of 4:15 pm. :thumbsup2

But is it good chocolate?

Yup... that just about sums up MY PMS!!! :lmao:

I'm with ya on that one, sistah!

Oh, thank you for the kind comments ... I was overwhelmed by the number of people who posted while we were gone. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy. :goodvibes

Happy belated birthday to you! And I forget things all the time so don't feel bad ... I think it just happens to all of us ladies as we become a little more finely seasoned. ;)

Ooh that looks yummy! Somehow I think I would have polished off that apple!

It was really tasty ... just way too sweet for us. Good luck if you order one ... be sure to chart your progress for the rest of us if you do!

Hi Laura! Definitely try the Dole Whip, that way you can make up your own mind.

DINK = dual income, no kids.

As for the ordering of fun and admittedly overpriced stuff ... visit the WDW Florist's website. They have pages of stuff that kids would go ga-ga over!

Double Income, No Kids. I was one of those a dozen years ago...can hardly remember what it was like :)

Thanks for explaining it before I could! DINKieness has its advantages and disadvantages, just like everything else, but I love the quiet. :cloud9:

love love LOVE your reviews! keep em' coming. I like to eat and drink vicariously though you!

Oh, thanks so much! I'll try to keep the good stuff coming!

Absolutely LOVE the way you do Disney!:lovestruc

Thank you! We always try to do a few things to make each trip memorable and special ... I'm lucky that Jay is so easy going. :thumbsup2

I love the Treasured treats basket. Now I have to look at their website.:goodvibes

Hey Bridget! Thanks for reading ... lemme know if you find anything to order from the florist!

Hey Brenda! I was at the bank today getting cash for our trip, and there is a liquor store next door. I actually considered going in there to get miniatures for the plane ride! :rotfl: But I didn't. Hopefully I won't regret my choice...

Denise

I admire your fortitude ... if that had been me I might have spent all of our vacation funds on small slcohol bottles just for the flight. :lmao:

Have a great trip!

Uhhhh, we only throw alcohol at each other.

LIQUOR FIGHT!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Sorry to disappoint you AFEG, but there is very little ice cream or flashing for it on this trip. Although we did get some free sushi one night but I think that was we because Jay and I were inhaling everything the chef kept putting in front of us at the sushi bar. It may have been some twisted sushi challenge ... I'm not sure. :confused3 :lmao:

Mmm those snacks look yumm-o. I think I'll take a gander over to WDW Florist to see what I can get my DBF when we go in December. Thanks for the idea! My credit card might not thank you tho ;)

Everything looks so good I want to try it all! This is making me want to get to the House so much sooner than I can. I can't wait for January...and I was just at WDW this month.
Thanks for reviewing and all of the beautiful pics!

They have all kinds of fun stuff ... all of it overpriced but it's Disney so what else would you expect? How was your Vegas trip? :goodvibes

Thanks for reading - hope you had a good trip while you were at WDW. Why doncha order yourself a little something nice for your next trip?

Thanks. It's been a long time for us too.

:goodvibes

Hey kids! I knew I had some pictures of that apple as we were enjoying it a few days later, so I'm going to post them here for you to ogle until I get the Raglan Road review posted (keep your fingers crossed for this weekend ... I'm in the middle of that damn WDW cold that snuck into my suitcase and my nose feels like its going to fall off my face ... :lmao: ).

Apple-y goodness for everyone!

BTW, we think that the apple itself was a Granny Smith because there was some nice tartness that helped to offset some of the overall sweetness of this treat.

Scary spider that we brought home and gave to the kitty
