WE SAW IT, WE CONQUERED IT, WE ATE IT. Tons of pics! Just Updated 10/22!

I'm really enjoying your report -- and your pictures are fantabulous!!

I had seen pictures of that margarita -- and I wanted one, too. I am also not a drinker, and I knew I would be under the table. They have a "virgin" one called a "Conga" that was quite delish!

Enjoying your TR! Thanks for posting all the pics! You have a lovely family, can't wait to read more :)

Hi all! Thanks so much for the kind words.. This is my first trip report and i'm not sure how to do it.

For those who wanted to know i have a NIKON D-50. Its a big daddy camera that i almost didnt bring for fear of breaking it, but then i thought, Why did i spend a lot of money on a camera (with lenses..i've never used LOL) and dont want to use it at the BIGGEST PHOTO OP EVER?

So i stuck it in my backpack and took it. I did slam it on the concrete once and didnt miss a beat lol.

No worries! You're doing great! I love the way you give details and then let the pictures join you in telling the story!

Great photos!

I had to post one more time- I am enjoying your report so much. This is all the stuff I really want to hear. About the food, parks and resorts and especially the pics. They are great and your family is beautiful. I have to get to Norway for one of those school breads WOW.

I wish I could plan a trip like yours. I have been so intimidated by Disney ever since going to Universal but I am almost convinced to try Disney again. Your trip is giving me some hope. Especially seeing the pics of POR :thumbsup2 Anywho thanks for posting and keep um coming. :sunny:

Great report so far, the pictures are excellent. Some of that food looks tasty.

I love your Trip Report! You have such a beautiful famiy. You take beautiful pictures. By the way I have to know where your daughter shops, I think I have all the same clothing as her!

Another great little snippet. You've got to stop with the food photos though. Whenever I am done reading and seeing the food pictures I wind up heading to the fridge.LOL I think i'll be gaining wait just reading your report :lmao:

Great trip report so far... looking forward to the next installments. I love to read how the "other half' does Disney since we are local and do one day at a time!

Those margaritas do rock in Mexico (DD9 does not like when I order them!!!

Yes - the food photos have to STOP... I'm in a DTD kind of mood - and those Earl of Sandwich sandwiches look good!!!

Thanks :) I'm working the next few days but i'll get my next installment out this weekend! :) HUGS! oh btw, NO i cant stop with the food LOL, its my torture to you all MUHAWAHW!

Day 5 is finally here THE MAGIC KINGDOM! Yippee, I get to finally see “THE Mouse”. Funny how the mouse is absent, except for shows at the other parks. Or was that just us? Seems like I never saw that sneaky highly intelligent and adorable rodent except the MK.

On this day I call for a character wake up at 6:15. I don’t want to be late for this one! Mickey calls us right on time, but this time DS jumps RIGHT up and out of bed (I love Mickey wakeups on speaker phone).

We all get ready to go to the MK today with everyone in high spirits. We arrive promptly at 8:30 and squeeze our happy, magical butts in to Main Street. TRAFFIC JAM! Omgosh its jam packed. I fear today might be different then the rest of the previous days as we’ve had blissfully light crowds. We duck into a store front to squeeze past some folks and find ourselves elbow to arm pit with a lot of other people with the same brilliant idea. From inside we hear the opening act just before rope drop. It’s a bit like torture to hear people laughing and clapping and you just know its something good, yet all you can see is the back of a man who has a blue Mohawk. :scared1: Yup, blue. I missed this photo op. I’m so close to the strange man in front of me that I can smell him…GET ME OUTSIDE NOW! At this point DD looks over at me and screams. Literally. It appears she has left her Sony Digital Camera (that deserved capitalization don’t you think) on the MONORAIL. Ugh. She is trapped and in tears.

Rope drop and I ease myself and my family out in to glorious sunshine and fresh air. DD states she is running back to the platform to start searching monorails and other park guests if necessary for her coveted camera. She’ll call us when/if she finds us and meet us later.

We make a bee line for tomorrow land, but ohhhhhhhhhhhh my. What do we see? The CASTLE!!!!!!!!! Does everyone remember the first time you ever saw the Castle? We all just stopped and gawked. Even DH, the resident grump. Somehow all the people that were at rope drop vaporized into thin air. I even took a shot of DS in front of an almost empty castle.

So off we go to Tomorrow land. First ride, Stitches great escape. Ummmmm.
dtddisneyMKday1140.jpg

Ok, NOT a great start to the MK. This ride starts out all high tech feeling and like you might go for a good spin or something…but um. Anticlimactic comes to mind. So, rides where you smell stitch burps and feel spitting. I’ll pass on a second trip.

We rode everything. We like Astro Orbiter. Buzz lightyear, now that was fun! We all loved it, and got our first set of fast passes. In the meantime DD has found her camera, still sitting on the monorail seat, and joins us for the rest of our tomorrow land adventures. We then rode the Tea Cups. WE all loved this. Except DH who refuses to go upside down or round and round on rides.

We run to visit Mickey on Toon Town Fair. We get into an almost empty line at the Judges tent to see the MOUSE WITH THE MOSTEST. I actually think I teared up. Sad huh?
dtddisneyMKday1145-1.jpg

We rode Scary Adventures of Snow White. I love Dopey :) (who doesnt right?)
dtddisneyMKday1153.jpg

dtddisneyMKday1155.jpg

It was then time to watch Mickeys Philarmagic. I was so looking forward to this!
dtddisneyMKday1159.jpg
Hades is my sons fave villian.

At this point we are starving and headed over to Columbia Harbor house. LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS PLACE! By 11:15 there was already a line to wait in, but DH had no trouble finding a table by the window upstairs. I loved the country kitchen tables with the high back chairs. Very cozy, lights dimmed and very cool. I could have stayed inside here for a couple of hours and people watched.
dtddisneyMKday1167-1.jpg

This would be one my DS’s favorite meals of the week. My DS loves fish, and there was something about this fish that made him clean his plate, which is something we rarely get to see.

DD, DS and I had fish and chicken. It was very hot, and fresh and crispy. Everything was freshly cooked just before we got it, which I’m sure makes it even better.
dtddisneyMKday1164-1.jpg

My DH had the ham and cheese sandwich, which he said was very good and fresh.
dtddisneyMKday1163-1.jpg

Dessert was chocolate cake, and I have to say I thought this was one of the best desserts this week, no joking. It was so moist and if you love a lot of frosting you'll love this. I do but DD scraped half hers off. It was really good, and we all finished ours off.
dtddisneyMKday1166-1.jpg
:thumbsup2

I’m realizing as I give you my trip report my Foodie side pops out big time. I tended to snap more pics of our food than the MK LOL. It’s ok, though, with almost 1,000 pics taken, surely I have enough LOL.

After lunch we use our fast passes to Neverland. Peter Pans adventure :) This was so sweet and fun.

dtddisneyMKday1181.jpg

dtddisneymkday1184.jpg

At this point we realize were not going to do and see everything today which took my pressure lever down a few notches. So from lunch we took a quick ride on “It’s a Small World”. Cute, but DS again hated it. DD and I loved it lol, DH doesn’t care as long as the airs on.
dtddisneyMKday1180.jpg

dtddisneyMKday1176.jpg

On to Liberty square to catch the Haunted Mansion. When I was a little girl, this ride (the Disneyland one) made me cry, I was so scared. What a wiener I was LOL. It was fun and we all loved this ride. I love the hitchers. BTW stand bye for this ride. Less than 8 minutes.
dtddisneyMKday1170.jpg

dtddisneyMKday1173.jpg
love this pic of Mr. Grumpy.

From here we headed over to Frontier land. We walked around a bit and enjoyed ourselves. We rode my 2 favorite rides (and I think everyone else’s also) at MK here. We grab a FP for Splash Mountain and hop on Big Thunder Mountain. X3! What little line there was was non existent. By the time we got done with Thunder Mountain it was time for Splash Mountain.

I love Uncle Remus. I wish I had taken pictures but I was too afraid of ruining my camera. This one ride was my favorite number one ride. I have this small problem though. I don’t like getting wet. It takes me a long time to get my hair straight and yanno..Things like your undergarments showing thru clothing etc. But I was willing lol.

I’m glad I did

Now at this point it’s getting close to 2pm. I’m getting hot, and more and more people are milling into the parks and I have an urge to run away. We decide to head back to POR for a swim and a mini nap before returning to the Poly for dinner at 5pm.

DD declines rest period stating “Are you kidding? I’ve waited my whole life to come to the MK and I’m here, I’m not wasting it in a dark room!!!” So, basically she stayed behind and said she would meet us at the Poly for lunch by 4:45.

On our way out we were lucky to find Pinnochio and his group offering photo ops and autographs. DS LOVED this!

dtddisneymkday1186.jpg

Off to the Monorail we go! The conductor for the Monorail saw my DS's birthday button and he got to be assistant engineer! Made his day!
dtddisneyMKday1198.jpg

dtddisneymkday1199.jpg

OK, so probably no one wants to know that by the time we get back to the room its 3:00 and we have very little time to rest. There is nothing like the panic of knowing you need a nap and trying to get a 20 minute power nap in while your mind is racing. With visions of Dole Whips dancing in your head.

4:30 comes really fast and we head over to the Poly. Again, I can not say enough good things about renting a car. We never used a bus, and were able to take breaks during the day and make it to the store for stuff. I loved being able to get from POR to the Poly in 5 minutes.

We arrive at Poly to have dinner with our DD at 5pm. This restaurant is NOT in the same caliber as many restaurants as far as décor and ambience go. However it is one of the better restaurants for food quality.

We start with appetizers.

DS ordered Wings. After they came, we all wished we had ordered them. OMG yum. Just yum. I love it when I get wings with out a lot of fat and fried crispy, but the sauce on these was just yum. If you think these wings are the same as Ohana, you’re wrong. Ohana has nothing on these wings baby!
konaandwishes005.jpg

DD, DH and I all ordered Crab Cakes. They were very good, They don't compare to those wings though.
konaandwishes006.jpg

Now of course this is the one restaurant that doesn’t ask about allergies. My DD has a mild allergy to nuts in that it makes her mouth itch and throat itch. Nothing serious, just uncomfortable. DD orders the Mahi minus the nuts, but it comes out with the macadamia nuts. We had to send this back, which takes quite a while. In the meantime we all dig in, sorry DD!
konaandwishes011.jpg
this was awsome!
DH and I ordered the Steak. YUM. What can I say, it was delicious. Loved the mashed potatoes.
konaandwishes010.jpg

DS ordered the Shrimp and scallops, minus the scallops. Fish for my son, does anyone see a pattern lol??
konaandwishes009.jpg

Desserts were great.

konaandwishes019.jpg

All in all a very very good dining choice and a great choice for those wanting a break from the MK. It’s a short monorail ride. Or you can do what we did and drive to the Poly and leave your car there and take the monorail back after close. There is a catch, the parking pass isn’t all day, so it’s really only good to do this for your evening meal.

We leave our car and take the monorail back to MK. We used our FP’s to Buzz Lightyear, and went back and rode that standby 2 more times. We hit frontier land again. We basically rode big thunder mountain a few more times and SP again. It was time to scout out a parade site. I wanted to be sitting for the parade.

The Parade was AWSOME! We had great seats and enjoyed a yummy Whip while watching!
konaandwishes025.jpg

konaandwishes032.jpg

After the parade, we bolted toward the Castle. I had it on best authority to scam a spot on the bridge near the rose garden or in the rose garden, but nooooo my family wanted to stop and stay on the bridge from frontier land toward the castle. That seemed like a great idea, it was a great view of the castle, but when the works started they were behind a tree, not the castle! We RAN to the center, and just stood and watched. I seriously hoped we didnt stand infront of people but it was kinda hard not standing infront of someone in that area. Great spot but NOT cozy.
konaandwishes103.jpg

konaandwishes097.jpg

Now you must notice that I left out Adventure land. Yeah, I did. I’m sorry. I confess. However, we come back tomorrow for MNSSHP, and plan to come a bit early and do that.
