I think from memory it was about $1.57 when I actually completed - however because I fancied buying BLT when it was released I had bought some $ on a Fairfax prepaid Mastercard at $2 and some on a Tesco Travelcard at $2.05 or so AND actually bought shares in JPMorgan Chase at $32 or so at $2:£1. To complete on BLT I sold those shares at $41 and the $1.57 or so fx rate.
Pebbles we have just had our purchased finalised, just waiting for our DVC cards etc,so that's roughly a week from passing ROFR.
I agree on the FX rate but when we looked at AKV thru DVC 160 points were $16000 at $1.76 (Sept 08) so we have paid roughly the same for more points at SSR,I honestly never expected to go thru' at $68 but it was worth the try not forgetting that there are still plenty at SSR going for $78-$79.

No probs,we all started somewhere! Right of First Refusal-if you bought direct from DVC then you will not have gone thru' this, basically Disney have ROFR this means that they have first "dabs" on any resale that they believe the price is too low per point. They still buy at that price, the seller obviously doesn't gain anything but it does sort of stop the buyer putting in a "silly" offer,Disney can then resell the contract at a price they deem suitable. For myself & Pebbles $68/point is quite low & last year I don't believe they could have passed ROFR but there still aren't very many at this price.
