I'm so glad I got the Disney Dining Experience card. We aren't snackers at WDW, but we love a nice lunch and dinner and we drink wine. We saved so much money!

We always tip at least 18% anyway, so that isn't an issue for us.

I recommend it for people who enjoy the restaurants!

To be able to purchase a Dining in Wonderland (formerly Disney Dining Experience) Card you must be either a Florida Resident or an Annual Passholder (or both).

It paid for itself on the first trip we used it a couple of weeks ago and we still have two long weekend trips and a weeklong trip planned so it was a wonderful for us.

I did get a chuckle out of the name change to Tables In Wonderland. We were there within a couple of days of the name change and none of the servers knew what I was talking about.
I still had to call it the Disney Dining Experience card so the servers would know what it was.

I did notice servers getting a big smile on their face when I said I was using the card. I guess there are a lot of people who stiff them for tips and they figure they'll get a decent tip with the DDE, or um, TIW. ;)

A couple of months ago I went to V&A with four friends from out of town; I skipped the wine pairings although they did not, and we had a few of the option extras.

The card saved over $240 on the total bill. Definitely paid for itself.

The DDE has always paid for itself after a couple of days on vacation. It's even better because we get two years worth of trips out of it becuase we take the second trip prior to the 1 year mark.

My son who is a teacher bought his first annual pass this summer when he was asked to attend a teacher's conference at WDW in June. We already had a trip planned for July, so getting an AP was a no brainer. He didn't purchase a DDE card until our July trip and the card paid for itself after our first few meals. We are going again in December and just today we were looking at menus trying to decide on ADRs. Whenever I would say the price of something, he would always correct me with the DDE price!! We also usually tip around 18-20%, so the automatic gratuity was not an issue.

We do the same with our AP, DDE if we can. Every year, we've had at least one meal that pays for the card and then some, so the rest of the trip's a bonus, plus valet, just big savings for nice meals we'd enjoy anyway. FWIW.

We  the DDE!!! That is one great investment!! Combine that with the savings you get with the AP and I feel like I'm having clearance time at WDW!!!:lmao: I love a good clearance!!!:rolleyes1

We bought ours back in March for our 9 day trip and used it for 3 days in June, 4 days in August, 10 days later this month and again for 5 days Jan 09...that little sucker has saved us alot of money!

I also have the DDE card. It pays for itself if you enjoy sitting down to a nice meal. Having everything included is a bonus. Because of the card I really don't feel the need for the meal plan. It saves you quite a bit and you don't have to worry about how many meals you have left.

I have done three trips on my DDE card this year. Even with one of them being on the DDP, we saved a ton of money. Far more than we paid. And the fact that two of our meals were the Hoop Dee Doo Review made it a huge savings.

I also love the fact that two of the cs places in AK still take it. And if you stay at a value, the food court savings really adds up.

I didn't know HDDR was included. I just booked and paid--is it too late to change to get the credit?

I think its only for the 9:30 show. Call Disney Dining and ask them if you can switch and get a credit. I have actually gotten the discount twice since we did HDDR in April and are going again in October. So I know it can be done!

When you use it at the AK CS do they add the 18% gratuity in as well?

Ok...question here....first time AP holder. If we purchase a DDEcard, is it good only for one person, or do they take it off the total bill? If its one person, I can't see it paying for itself, esp. since not all restaurants take it.
