We need an *official* cruising thread

Hi, That would be me I think;) . I posted the genesis information here when it came out April 15th.
I am WeWant2BCruzin over on CC. I am so excited about that cruise I can hardly contain myself:cool1:

I'm pretty certain i've seen your picture there too.

I really like the cruise fashions and beauty board.

We are cruisers and Love Love Love it. We are really wanting to go another one but I think the Genesis inagural cruise is going to take all of our money.
But if we can find a good enough deal we will be on another one or 2 before time.

I really want to go on the Freedom in May of next year when it starts going out of PC but we will see.

It is really awesome that you will be going with us I think that we are like 54 on the list.

We have sailed Disney several times, but last December we did the 7 night Western on Mariner and loved it. We have it booked again for August and we can't wait!

We will miss her when she goes out to LA but will welcome Freedom and look forward to sailing on her. I won't drive down to Miami so we will wait until she comes up here. We are spoiled PC is about 45 minutes away from us.

Yes, I'm a cruiser too, Jenny!

DH and I went on our first cruise (Disney Magic) in January 2001 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we were immediately hooked!!

We had a second Disney Magic cruise, plus took my parents on the Disney Wonder as well.

And before our second Magic cruise I surprised DH with a 4-night Carnival Fantasy cruise (we had one day between the cruises) for Christmas.

Then we took a Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas cruise with DH's two sisters and their husbands.

Then this past January DH and I went on the Carnival Glory with his one sister and her husband as they have been bitten by the cruise bug as well.

So, we have been on six different cruises altogether. All have been 7-night ones except for the Wonder and Fantasy (4 nights each).

I thought it would be a long time before my next cruise, but my Mom wants to go on another (my Dad passed away in January) while her health is still good so we are booked on the Mariner of the Seas for October 26th, in a junior suite "hump" cabin. I'm so excited, and of course she is too! And she's paying for the whole thing, all I have to do is show up!!

I think it's going to be a wonderful time to share with my Mom, we are close and always have been, and this will make some terrific memories for us!!

Lucky you! I keep telling DH we should move to Florida; not for WDW but for easier port access!

I also tie a piece of brightly colored yarn or ribbon to my luggage..It makes it much easier to spot.

We have these bright green straps that we bought from target on our luggage. They stand out!!

I am hooked too.
Going in July with DD for her B-day (21st) and then next year have our 30 anniversary cruise booked with the family (and my BFF and her DH).

First two cruises were NCL. Next two are Carnival.

I'd go all the time if I lived closer to port.

I like that board too. I don't have any cruise planned for right now so that is where I like to hang. I'm PrettyLA over there.

That sounds like a really lovely time for you and your mom.

We did our first cruise in March, on the Island Princess from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles via the Panama Canal.
We enjoyed the shore excursions a great deal but found the days at sea a bit boring. We had a mini suite and spent a lot of time on our balcony just reading and relaxing.
The food was excellent, we did the Anytime Dining, but it was too plentiful. We missed several meals because we were still full from the previous one!
We will go again in a couple of years but probably to Asia such as Beijing to Bangkok and pick a cruise with less days at sea.
