We need an *official* cruising thread

Me too....and me too!!! :thumbsup2 I am ChristieNJ on CC.

As you can see from my sig I too am obsessed with cruising. Jenny - You will LOVE Independence! I've been on Freedom and Liberty, and they are AWESOME ships. I for one cannot WAIT for Genesis! :cool1: That ship sounds too amazing to be true!!!

Hey! I remember you were such a help on the Explorer of the Seas thread when I was getting ready to go on her!!!

Oh cool! Glad I could be of service. lol I love that thread! How did your cruise turn out??

Went to Alaska last Sept on the Coral Princess out of Vancouver. LOVED IT!!! Going back again this Sept out of Seattle on the Golden Princess. I've also found alot of info from the CC. I really read more than post but my name is DisneyScrapper on the CC.

Have any of you cruised Europe at all?
Has anyone been to Portugal(azores) Vigo or Southhampton?

I just got back from my first cruise - 5 days on the Enchantment of the Seas. It was WONDERFUL! The ship was great - food was good, pools were nice and drinks were plentiful.

We can't wait to book another. I'm thinking Southern Caribbean for the next one. We'd also like to try Europe. The one thing I worry about is boat movement (too much rolling, etc). Does anyone know anything about the seas for either one - choppy? Ok? Times of the year to sail to minimize rocking?

I loved Enchantment! Southern Caribbean seas were great...barely no movement at all! Don't know about Europe's seas though.

I have never cruised europe and probably never get to we are not big at all on flying.
I hope that you have a great one though.

My "plan" is to take a transatlantic over and stay for a while then take a transatlantic back. Then I would avoid flying.

I better start saving my pennies!

How was sailing out of Bayonne? Since the Freedom is so high, I'm looking at a 9 day out of Bayonne. Did you like the Bermuda Caribbean itinerary?

I really LOVED the intinerary. Bermuda is gorgeous. Bayonne was OK as a port to sail out of. You have to take a shuttle to the ship, you don't embark from the terminal directly to the ship. Disembarkation was the worst part of it and it could be improved dramatically.

Thats what we would have to do. I could not imagine having to be on a plane with my DH that long:scared1:  .He would not do to well at all. He would freak me out more than the flight.

We fell in love with cruising a few years ago and since have been on seven cruises (4-Carnival, 1-Royal Caribbean, 1-Norwegian, 1-Disney). Currently, we have 2 booked--one for 6/7/08 on Carnival's Glory (7 day Eastern Caribbean) and one for Thanksgiving week. My favorite was the Norwegian since it was Hawaii and it was our first time there.

Has anyone here been to St. Martin or St. Thomas--those ports will be new to us.

Cunard has regular 5 day,no stop cruises straight to and from the UK..I believe they are to/from NY. This is great for non-flyers.

No, I haven't but DH wants to take a cruise around Alaska. If you find the time, please report back on how it was and what excursions you did!

I will do my best to remember to :thumbsup2. The trip isn't until mid-summer.

Thats where we went to in October and they were OK. If you like to shop then thats the place for you well jewelry that is. But to me and DH we didnt care for it as much as we did the Western Caribbean.
But I have read where so many people like Eastern better than Western.
Dont get me wrong the islands were Beautiful.
