we need a microwave at Pop

there have been a million discussions on this and yes, it is allowed. But for obvious reasons, not encouraged. I know several people and written or called Disney and asked and were told it is allowed. Also, in many of the frig swaps, a toaster is included. We had a toaster in our last frig swap.

After 80 posts I respectfully agree to disagree...I KNOW its not and you KNOW it is...okay ?

and fwiw no one that I recall said a toaster wasn't allowed...I have personally been involved in the POP Swap (original) fridge, toaster, coffee pot

Are you sure??? I'm starting a camp oven swap with a bonus fondue pot. Sounds tempting doesn't it?

How about adding a washer/dryer...save money on laundry while at Disney. Include a recipe for homemade laundry detergent, bet they'll be a lot of takers :lmao:

It’s a hotel room not an efficiency. If you want appliances you should rent a room with a kitchen.:laughing:

Well now you're just being silly...WHo wants to make their own detergent on vacation.

I knew that someone would ask this question. :lmao: The answer is simple and logical -- Disney sells food items in the gift shop that need to be heated, and provides microwaves in the food courts for guests to do so. Voilà!

If you're not clear -- read the Disney Website rules again - they are very clear that food that needs to be heated is not allowed.

So again, my point is that those of you who are telling the OP she should heat her DH's food in the food court microwave are splitting hairs. It's okay for her to break the rules by bringing her own food that needs heatedbut it's not okay for her to bring a microwave to heat it in. Either you believe in abiding by the rules or you don't - you can't pick and choose which ones to abide by. And I'd bet that there are very few guests at Disney who haven't brought some kind of food to their room that needs heated. And I agree with the PP who said the official policy only addresses the food, not appliances. So anyone who has any kind of food in their rooms that needs heated (including leftovers from a Disney restaurant) are breaking the sacred Disney rules!

I've never brought food to my room that needs to be heated.

OP, I would use the food court microwaves if you absolutely need them. I didn't read the whole thread of answers but the first thing that occurred to me is that Disney might ask you to remove it on the grounds of safety. I don't know of anyone who has brought a crock pot, microwave or similar full size cooking appliances but I wouldn't think you'd be allowed to cook in your room. If you guys really think you'll miss the comforts of home, consider staying in an off property condo or renting DVC points. We don't spend much time in our room, usually eating something cold for breakfast on the way out the door but if you need to be able to cook then the value resorts might not be your best hotel option.

A few weeks ago there was a topic here that advised to use the hair blower to heat up snacks and left overs brought to the room in doggy bags.
The posters used the hair blower to heat up fish left overs

from there restaurant meal so a pizza or a hot dog would be no problem at all.

Come on, who hasn't enjoyed a grilled ham and cheese sandwich concocted using the hotel room iron....

File this under creative ways to save money on food at Disney:yay:

1.) You tell the OP to phone and ask.
2.) The OP phones the # you provide and asks.
3.) You ridicule her for believing what they told her when she calls.

OP - tell your husband to order a pizza.

This is what I was thinking. This has got to be the dumbest debate I have read on the dis yet.

OP, you called and they gave you an answer. I assume you are taking a small micro like would be used in a dorm room. Take it. When you get there, ask again. If they say no, then explain what you were told on the phone. If you are driving and they say no, leave it in the car. If not, I am sure they will happily put it somewhere for you until your trip is over.

If she's not driving, then I want to know her secret for getting her microwave on an airplane!
