We Love The Characters! A TR w/ Pics. Just added WL pics in post 31 or 33.

That really stinks about your dad getting so sick. I am really enjoying your TR. I cannot wait to read more and see more pics.

Your little girl is a real cutie.

– “Please stand clear of the doors – por favor mantengan si alejadro de las puertas” (I hope I didn’t butcher the spanish too much)!

HAHA...you were pretty close..."Por Favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas" . Please=por favor, mantenganse=stand, clear= alejado, of the doors = de las puertas......

BTW LOVE YOUR REPORT!!!! And the photos are great. You have two beautiful children. I hope your dad got well for the rest of the trip!!! I remembered you daugther for your dinner report!!!! It was so good too I have it book marked as reference for my Next trip!!! hahaha

Can't wait for your next installment!!!!

I love your report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope your Dad gets better, my dd got sick when we went last year, so I know how you feel.

Great trip report! Love the Spanish monorail spiel--I had to laugh. I can hear it now! Other things I've enjoyed reading about:
-the "fake" monorail at the airport--when we took our DD9 for her first trip when she was 4, she thought the airport was Disney
-great pic of EE
-Chase playing his Gameboy at b'fast. My DD9 spent almost every meal on our trip back in June playing her Gameboy. I'm not sure how she lived that week, as little as she ate! We actually had to convince her a couple of times to put the Gameboy down to see a character! :rotfl2:

Sorry your dad got so sick during the trip. Hope he got better quickly! Also, love the pics!!! Keep up the good work!

Your kids are so cute!!! Your DD's legs are so yummy!! I have a 2 yr. old daughter too and we're going in 15 days and cant wait! I wonder if she take to the characters as well as Erika did! If she doesnt, I'll get pictures her screaming in front of all the characters! Works fine for me!

I made note NOT to get the veggie pizza-along with my bazillions of other DISnotes! Food poisoning would suck epecially after paying so much money!
Poor guy!

Cant wait to read more!

Hi..love your report.. and your kids are adorable!!

We were at WL July 16th - 22nd
(we were first OP 7th-10, then AKL 10-16)... maybe we saw you there...lol.

Looks like you had a blast! So did we!

I am loving your report especially with the pics:) I am a new joiner, and am ADDICITED to this site! subscribing now:)

Such cute kids! I am loving the report and pictures! We are taking DD who just turned 4 in 24 days..I cannot wait to see her see the big cheese himself for the first time! gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! popcorn::

I am loving your report!! Your family seems MORE than sweet, and your kiddos are just adorable!! I sure wish my DD2 would have loved the characters like yours did! She liked seeing them, but wouldn't let go of me for 2 seconds to go stand near them alone! I had to be in all of the pictures with her!

Also, the ages your kids are at makes me pine for our first visit when my boys were 2 and 4.....everything was so magical for them!! I can't wait to read more!

So we said goodbye to my mom and took the kids into The Living Seas. They had such a blast exploring the tanks and looking at all the different fish. We visited every level and had a great time!
CIMG0260.jpg

When we left, 2 hours later, I knew the kids were tired, so we put them in the stroller and by the time we got to Canada, they were both asleep.
CIMG0264.jpg

This was nice. They had been going all morning and we were planning on staying for Illuminations, so this worked out for us. Scott and I strolled through WS and window shopped. I did NOT buy my chocolate in the UK Pavillion L so I will be sure to get some while on the Sept./Oct. trip.

We headed over to Japan and went into the store there where I bought the kids some little toys to play with at dinner. Then we headed over to Italy and got to see Sergio the street performer. (Gee, I think that’s his name). He doesn’t talk, but uses a whistle. It was a cute show, and by this time Chase had woken up and was part of the show a little bit – but he was still in that I’m-cranky-and-don’t-want-to-smile mode, so Sergio moved on.

We checked in to Alfredo’s for our dinner ressie, and although we were a bit early and two people short on the ressie, we were seated promptly. I won’t go into a full blown review, but let’s just say that I’m glad I tried Alfredo’s, but don’t think I’ll be back. The only highlight of the meal was the Nutella cake. YUMMY!

At this point, my mom called to tell me they were at the clinic in Orlando and were hoping to get back to the hotel soon. My dad was feeling better and was starting to get a little hungry, so we knew that was a good sign. I told her we’d call them when we got back to the WL and if they needed anything, to just call me again.

After dinner, the kids found this round stage in the middle of the Italy pavillion and were singing and dancing. It was so cute how they were just up on there performing their little hearts out. I guess they get this from me (I’m a music teacher and LOVE musical theatre), so I considered this moment to be their “Disney Debut!”

CIMG0288.jpg

After the “show,” we walked around WS to get a spot for Illuminations. Chase was a little nervous about the fireworks so we bought him “magic wand” lollipops so that he’d be safe from the loud booms of the fireworks.
CIMG0289.jpg

We got an “ok” spot for Illuminations, but I don’t care so much about seeing it as I do hearing it. I just LOVE the music. It’s so inspirational and is pure Disney to me. Chase and Erika liked looking at the fireworks, but Chase kept his ears covered as best he could with his “magic wand” in his hand and Erika just kept saying, “It’s loud, Mommy!”

After the show, we began our trek to the exit with the hordes of people. We weren’t in any rush, so we just ebbed and flowed with the crowd. We decided to take the monorail to the MK then the boat to the WL so we wouldn’t have to fold the stroller. This worked out really well and we used this mode of transportation on our last night in Disney as well.

When we got back to the WL, we stopped and checked on my dad. He was doing much better. The doctor at the clinic thought he had food poisoning and should take care to stay hydrated and just eat lightly for the next few days. We were glad he was feeling better and went to bed knowing that he would be joining us the next day for our adventures in Downtown Disney!!!

Mr. Penguin was left for us by our wonderful mousekeeper that day! Erika loved the penguin!!!

Day 4 – July 20. 2006

I was up very early today and decided to explore the WL at sunrise.
CIMG0367.jpg

CIMG0369.jpg

It was so quiet and serene at this time of day. The sun coming up over Bay Lake was beautiful and I could imagine myself living there and waking up to that view every morning. One of these trips I’m going to book a deluxe room at the WL so I can have a view of Bay Lake from my room!

Once everyone was awake, we were able to get our day started. Scott and I took the WL Tour with ranger Stan. This was terrific AND ranger Stan is from the town we live in here in New Jersey! So, it IS a small world after all!

The tour was a little over an hour and explorese the structure of the lodge from the logs to the wood floors to the chadeliers and more. If you have the time to devote to this one morning, I highly recommend it! Ranger Stan is a spirited individual with a passion for what he does!

Next we were off to Downtown Disney! Our first stop was Goofy’s Candy Kitchen. Chase got a green slushie, we got some jelly beans (not $50 worth, though! Be careful filling your bags!) I also picked up some Mickey shaped cookies for later.
CIMG0306.jpg

Hanging with Gmom and Pooh at DD!
CIMG0310.jpg

We browsed in some shops and went in to Once Upon a Toy. We purchased the Contemporary Resort for our monorail playset as well as the signs and some extra track. We had this shipped home.

I bought Erika some sparkly Mickey hair clips – she calls them “pretties.”
CIMG0333.jpg

Then we grabbed lunch at Earl of Sandwich. I like the food here, but it always seems so hectic getting your food and drink.

After lunch we went to the World of Disney and we did split up. My mom and dad took Chase and Scott and I took Erika. We dressed Erika up with pretty shoes, princess hats and princess dresses.
IMG_3381.jpg

Chase and my mom tried on different hats (I have to download these pics, too). Chase also liked standing outside of the store where a huge Stitch was squirting water. He had a blast getting spit on by Stitch!

Since today was to be leisurely, we headed back to the WL to relax. We found more towel friends today!
CIMG0339.jpg

We were supposed to be having dinner at ‘Ohana tonight, but my dad didn’t want to chance anything, so we were able to change our ressie to Kona Café – one of our all time favorites. I do believe we have eaten here on every trip since our honeymoon in 2000. That’s a lot of Kona Café visits – and you know what? We have a ressie here for our Sept./Oct. trip, too.

We got a little dressed up for dinner. It’s nice to get out of grungy park clothes for the evening.

IMG_3396.jpg

We took the small boat to the CR then the monorail to the Polynesian. We were seated promptly and, as usual, had attentive service and an outstanding meal!

After dinner, we had two sleeping children to contend with, so we took the monorail to the MK then the large boat to the WL. We carried the kids upstairs, said good night to my mom and dad, put the kids to bed, then watched the fireworks from our balcony. This was a very relaxing day and I really enjoyed having some down time in WDW!

Tomorrow brings a MK adventure followed by a Fairy Tale dinner fit for a little princess!!!

I have more pictures I need to download. I will update this page soon and post day 5 as well!

Please tell me about the gift baskets you ordered for your kids. They are so neat. Please let me know where to get them and what you asked for. I did that on our last trip but it was definitely not that neat.
princess: DD 6

Your report is great! I also enjoyed being spit on by Stitch at DTD (I'm 23) and yes, Earl of a Sandwich is a little crazy. My BF and I ate there on our first trip together last May and plan to go back on our December trip. I'm glad your dad's stomach thing only last one day (although I know it was one day too long!)...Strange, because on our May trip my brother also got sick (it was on our last night though) but we didn't eat at Pizza Planet that day... :scratchin

julsmom,

The gift baskets were ordered from Peggy's Sweets and More, but sadly, she has stopped doing this because she got a full time teaching position. I'm so sorry!

I have ordered from www.disneyflorist.com, but I've called and was able to have some baskets customized. Maybe try that.

Day 5 – July 21, 2006

This was an early morning for us.
Getting ready to head to the bus stop.
CIMG0379.jpg

We left for the MK at 8:15am – we took the bus from the WL, so it was a quick ride. 5 minutes! We were through security and the turnstiles with plenty of time to spare before the opening show. I love the opening show at MK. The music, singing and dancing really tugs at my heart strings. The show was great and Erika loved seeing the characters arrive by train.

After the show, we took our time getting into the park because all the people rush in. We headed to Main Street Bakery for breakfast which was delish, as always!!! Then we headed into Fantasyland and were still able to get on the tea cups, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan with less than 10 minutes to wait. In fact, Pooh and the tea cups were walk-ons. Nice, huh?
Erika on the tea cups.
CIMG0396.jpg

I took Erika on these rides while Chase played in the 100 Acre Wood playground. He got to meet Pooh AND Tigger and was so excited about that!
IMG_3408.jpg

IMG_3409.jpg

Scott and I met up with my parents after this and did a “kid trade!” My mom and dad took Chase to Adventureland to play in the squirting Tikis and Scott and I took Erika on It’s a Small World. I wanted to take her on Snow White, but by the time we were done IASW, there was about a 20 minute wait and we were meeting up with my parents and Chase.
He loves the squirting TIKIS!!!

DSC_0269.jpg

When we got to Adventureland, Chase and my mom were shopping for Pirate effects. Chase got a sword, hook and eye patch and told me he was Jack Sparrow!
DSC_0290.jpg

Erika met Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.
CIMG0413.jpg

We then headed over to Pecos Bills for a snack and Erika took a nap in the stroller.
Chase, Gmom and Dude in Adventureland.
CIMG0407.jpg

After our quick break, Scott and my dad took Chase through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Chase loves this and It’s a Small World and not much else right now. He knows just about everything about all the attractions at WDW but will only go on a select few. I suppose it’s just his vivid imagination that keeps him off of rides like Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Hopefully in a few years, he’ll get back on some of these classics.

While Scott, Chase and my dad were in the Treehouse, my mom and I went to Tomorrowland and took Erika on Carousel of Progress. This is such a classic and I hope that what I’ve read of WDW getting rid of it by 2007 are NOT true. This is Walt’s stamp, you know? I say leave it be.

We met up with the boys after this and headed into Toontown. Scott had Fastpasses for Winnie the Pooh, so he, my mom, my dad and Erika went on that while I took Chase into Minnie’s house.
CIMG0419.jpg

He loves Minnie and her house and we had fun fooling around! Then it was off to the playground where Chase and Erika played for a bit before spying Donald’s boat.
CIMG0444.jpg

CIMG0437.jpg

Once they saw the boat and the squirting jets of water, they were there! They had such a great time splashing around here. I’m glad I brought their sandals. I did not have any towels, though, so I knew this was going to wrap up our morning in the MK.
CIMG0460.jpg

As we made our way back to the WL, the kids shared some cotton candy. I didn’t care because we were planning on going for a swim AND a bath after that, so all the stickiness would be taken care of.

We ended up swimming for about an hour then had to get ready for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I think I was the most excited for this dinner. I dressed Erika up in a Cinderella dress and she looked so cute.
IMG_3439.jpg

I hoped she would be comfortable and she seemed to be. I wanted to leave with plenty of time to spare because our reservation was for a party of 4, but I was hoping they’d have room for my mom and dad. You see, my parents paid for most of the trip, so Scott and I wanted to thank them. We had made a dinner reservation for them at Citricos and purchased a gift card for them to use there. Well, since my dad had the bout of sickness, he still wasn’t up to a huge, heavy meal, so he explained that to me and cancelled Citricos. I wanted them to come with us, though, to help celebrate Erika’s 2nd birthday, so they came along and we hoped for the best.

We took the boat to the Contemporary and then the monorail to the GF and got there in plenty of time. I checked us in for our dinner and asked about adding my parents. I was told it was no problem at all and we were seated within 10 minutes. I was so happy that they were able to accommodate us!!!

Dinner was great! Scott said it was the best meal all week. The kids had fun meeting the characters
CIMG0493.jpg

CIMG0488.jpg

CIMG0476.jpg

and Erika also made friends with a couple of little girls at the table next to ours. Finally, the moment I was waiting for all week arrived. The cake I ordered for Erika’s birthday was brought out to the table and it was GORGEOUS! Wow! I was so excited I even forgot to get any dessert from the buffet! They announced Erika’s birthday and we all sang to her. Then we had cake.
CIMG0497.jpg

It was so good! White cake with white chocolate mousse filling. Heavenly! We had so much cake that I was able to give a large slice to the two little girls that had been playing with Erika. We also wrapped the rest up and took it to the hotel. Good thing there are refrigerators now!!!

After dinner we took the kids back to the WL and got them settled in bed. My mom agreed to stay in our room while the kids slept so that Scott and I could go back to the MK for evening extra magic hours. We were able to ride Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin’s magic carpets and the Haunted Mansion. Space Mountain had a 30 minute wait and we were just too tired at that point, so we headed back to the WL to call it a day.

This was a great day all around! Truly magical and filled with lots of Disney characters!!!

Look! Another towel friend!
