Day 6 July 22, 2006
Today my mom, Erika and I hung back at the WL to do some laundry before heading home. Scott, Dude and Chase went over to the Contemporary to play in the arcade. This was a very restful morning and that helped us get through the afternoon and evening.
Chase hanging out in Mickey's left ear at the CR!
Chase is practicing to be a PhotoPass photographer!
Or maybe he wants to be a horticulturalist?
Ah, a cool drink and a boat ride.
Around 1pm we headed over to the MK. We met Goofy and Max and watched the parade at 3pm.
Erika loves the parade!
So does Mommy!
We then saw the quartet perform. I asked the singer in red how long hed been singing with the quartet. Boy, was I shocked when he told me that hed been part of the quartet since 1973!!!!!!!!! He must LOVE his job! I was in awe of this.
Chase loves the quartet, too.
After the quartet, we headed over to Fantasyland and we were able to ride IASW before having to head to Crystal Palace for our dinner. The kids just love IASW and I really dont mind it. My DH makes fun of it, but I think most people do. But I like it and so do the kids which is why we ride it at least 5 times per trip.
We checked in to Crystal Palace for our dinner reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. This is my dads favorite restaurant at WDW and he requests that we eat here on every trip. And since he was now feeling 100% better and 100% hungry, he truly enjoyed his dinner!!! The kids met all four characters from the 100 Acre Wood and also marched around with the gang when they sang their song.
I also surprised Chase this evening with a birthday cake! His had an edible image of the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. Even though he wont go on the ride itself, he still loves it. Like I said earlier, its got to be his age. I know hell outgrow it soon!
I think they DO love each other!
We took the kids to Adventureland after dinner and Chase went through the Treehouse a couple of times and I took Erika on Aladdins Magic Carpets.
Chase and Gmom in the Treehouse!
After that, the kids had one request the TIKIS! Yes, they wanted to get squirted by the Tikis. Its a good thing I brought sandals, towels and a change of clothes for them. Yes, having a stroller DOES have its benefits. I was able to store everything in the basket underneath. I am so glad I did this because they both got SOAKED! But of course, they had a blast!
Gotcha!
Gotcha again!
After the Tikis, we took them to the Baby Care Center and got them dried off and changed. I wanted to stay for the fireworks, but my parents wanted to go back to the WL. So we said our goodbyes and went on our way. Scott and I took the kids to ToonTown for some shopping and character interaction. I took Erika to see the Princesses. She met Cinderella and Prince Charming (again!), Aurora (again!) and the Fairy Godmother (again!). However, the Fairy Godmother this time was the same actress that we met in 2005 at CRT.
Erika and HER Fairy Godmother!
She spent about 10 minutes last year cooing over Erika and weve got lots of pictures of that. So I was so excited to see her again and since we were the last ones in line, she spent lots of time with Erika once again. I like to think of her as Erikas Fairy Godmother. It was really sweet to watch them interact.
This is Erika with "her" Fairy Godmother in August 2005. Same FG - a littler Erika!!!
After our royal appointment, we made our way towards Main Street to watch Wishes. By this time, both kids had fallen asleep in the stroller, so I chose a spot on Main Street pretty close to the park exit. I was able to get it all on video and weve watched it about half a dozen times since weve been home. I really love Wishes. Also, the kids slept right through the fireworks, back to the hotel and into bed. It was great!
This was a great day without too much rushing around. Tomorrow includes Lightening McQueen, Mater and more time in the Living Seas!!!
