We had a two-room placeholder in my husband’s name. He is Platinum. We were going to book the second room in my name, I am Gold. Our TA was able to book the first room on Platinum day, the second one on Gold day with my status. If you are both silver, I think you should be able to book both today. Hope this helps.

Btw, our TA had to call both times.

The price on this cruise was actually $4254, but I booked a cat 05B. No insurance, no transfers.

I hope it’s okay to ask this here—is there anyone who had a two-room placeholder who was able to book both rooms on the early release day? My TA will be calling DCL to book us when she gets a chance (she cleared it with me that she wouldn’t be able to call right at opening) but I was looking online myself to have a firmer idea of pricing and saw the note that only one room can be booked during early booking.

Rather frustrating to me that you can buy two placeholders but potentially only one gets the early booking benefit (we’re planning to have my husband in the second room for the Silver booking benefits, but the placeholders are in my name).

Late to reply to this, but this is two pronged. Long story short, you arent being screwed out of an early booking opportunity, as long as both cabins have valid castaway status in them, but it will need to be done via phone call.

No one, regardless of using placeholder or not, can book 2 cabins from 1 castaway account log in during the early booking oppertunities. You would have to log in to your account, book, then log into your husbands and book (Or have it logged in on a 2nd device and book at the same time).

Then the second complication is that no one with 2 cabin placeholders can book or modify the sailing date of these online. If you had only 1, you'd be able to use it to book online.

If you (or TA, in your case) call during your castaway early booking opportunity, as long as someone with the valid castaway level is being assigned to each cabin, you can use the placeholders for the discount and get the early booking ability.
