Hi everybody. I want your opinions on this...DH and I were planning to go to WDW from 11-7 to 11-14. We have always flown a charter flight offered through a local travel agency out of our local airport...it was wonderful! 2 hours down and no connections. Well, there were no charter flights offered this fall when we could go. We booked regular commercial flights--leaving from our local Avoca airport and connecting in Philly. We were supposed to be on a jet, but USAir changed to a 30 seat plane. Well...I am a very nervous flyer and can't fly on a plane that small.

I called the TA..the only way to cancel that 1st flight and leave directly from Philly, would be to pay an extra $250. Plus, we have to pay for a hotel room overnight in Philly. I would so much rather use that $ to upgrade our hotel from PoR. I was kind of disappointed all along that we weren't staying at the Poly...I am a Poly girl!!!!!!!!

Anyway, we cancelled the trip and rescheduled for June 19-25. It is a charter flight (Yay!) so no worrying about the planes. I am a teacher, and I was going to have to take unpaid days off for this trip, and now I won't have to because school will be out.

I am trying to look on the bright side...staying at the Poly, a more relaxing flight down with NO connections, I won't have to back to work the day after I come home, etc. I also keep thinking I have something to look forward to---my trip would have been over and now it hasn't even started.

Help me feel better about our decision!

Thanks everyone!

I know it's hard to wait, but just think when you go in June you will be able to come home and not have to feel guilty for leaving your students.:sunny:

Sorry that you had to postpone your trip but now you have a little more time to plan, you won't have to use "unpaid leave" AND you get to stay at the Poly. Sounds good to me :)

I think you made the right decision. Besides, after November has come and gone, instead of your vacation being over, you still have it to look forward to! We had to postpone our vacation by 2 weeks because of the string of hurricanes and the waiting seemed like forever, but I felt so much better knowing our chances would be better of avoiding a hurricane if we postponed. It sounds like you are more comfortable with the arrangements for the postponed trip, so don't worry about it any more...just accept that you have changed it, and that you will have fun!
