Wonders never cease to amaze me. We arrived in WDW last Saturday and I guess we arrived at the BWV around Noon. I checked in and stored the luggage. It was pouring rain so we went to ESPN for lunch. Around 1:30 we walked between the drops back to the BWV and just for the heck of it I checked on the room. It was ready!!!

This was the first time that I've ever gotten into the room before 4PM! I was shocked! :)

BTW the view was lovely. Preferred 1 BW that overlooked the entire boardwalk and lake and no elevator! 2 Floor close to the Lobby!!! Room 2041 for anyone wondering!

Great way to start off. Good things do happen on rainy days :)

We checked in yesterday at BWV at 10:30 AM!!! The room was ready, and we had a preferred view, but it was of a garden. Didn't like the view very much, but hey,,,,,I made the reservation 2 days in advance and checked in at 10:30 AM........I WAS NOT COMPLAINING!

It was the perfect weekend getaway for a pair of teachers after the 1st week. Magic Kingdom was WAY too crowded though.

samitis - may I ask what you overlooked and where? I'm just curious .

Thanks!

Linda

Sure!

We were in room 1113, a studio. Do you know the bridge you walk over as you self park and walk towards the resort? Well, right after that bridge, there is a sidewalk/path on the left that goes to a side door in the end of the building. Our room was on the 1st floor, overlooking the lawn/garden right where that sidewalk cuts through.

Not the greatest view in the world (not particularly bad either), but it WAS ver convenient as we could come & go out the end of the building, and we were right across the lawn from the Bus stop.

Let me know if I left anything out.

Thanks Sam for that information. I had 3123 a few years ago. It was a 1BR with a VERY large living room and the living room had 3 sets of french doors!! The balcony stretched across the entire length of the living room. It was a corner unit and one of the largest 1 BR's at the BW. Much larger than normal.
I actually tried to get that room again this past trip but it was taken. Just as well. The view from 2041 was wonderful!!

samitis...it's interesting because that is the second time I have heard rooms in that area being described as preferred....I have been that stretch of the hallway three times and they ahve always been standard.....HMMMMM....

dh says to check to see if it was the corner room by the canal facing MGM....that might be the difference....

That area is my favorite Standard area quite get to see some greenery...

samitis - I had to run to work earlier :) so I couldn't finish my note to you.

I have to agree with zurgswife. My 3123 was a standard view. And I had the exact same view as you did. Not that I mind; that's what I asked for. We had a wonderful view of the Epcot fireworks and from the bedroom you could see the fireworks from Fantastmic.

I'd call MS and just ask them to double check. Maybe they weren't able to give you a preferred and just forgot to mention that your room was a standard.

Let us know!

Linda

Ms. WDW - I was just looking at my vacation pictures from my trip last year, and I'm trying to figure out where 2041 is. Is it in the yellow section between 2 red sections, with the divider in the middle of the two balconies? Is it dedicated?

Thanks!

We were in 4103 and 3121 as standard views, both faced the driveway. 1113 would be in between. Sounds like they are stretching the definition of preferred, as someone else recently posted.

We arrived on Friday 8/15 at 1:30pm and got our rooms right away too (2033 1BR and 2035 Studio to make up our 2BR). We checked out at 8:45am on Saturday 8/23 and the maid was ready to clean out room as we left. They really seem to target the checkout rooms for early cleaning to get them ready for the next arrivals. I loved the covered decks on the rooms we had.

For the person that asked, 2041 is right above the general store on the Boardwalk side.

BigTigger hit it right on the nose!! 2041 is right over the Screen Door with a view that is absolutely awsome!! And yes; it's dedicated.

Was the room ready policy in effect that week I was there?? (8/9-8/16) Even if it wasn't, I was so happy that I didn't have to wait all afternoon! :)

Now next year I've gone with a Standard 1BR. This trip ate a nice bunch of points with that Boardwalk view!!!

I just spent 13 nights in a 1 bedroom 3119 which is a standard view that has a great view of illuminations from the jacuzzi with the curtains open.i also booked a studio for a friend which was 3113 which was a standard. i have to believe that 1113 would also be a studio. i love that location. short walk to the bus,mgm and epcot.
