Well, I just booked my FIRST ever Disney cruise .:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We are going in October 05 and were able to reserve two adjoining rooms that have the hidden portholes. They are on the same deck as the children's activities, which with four young boys will be great for us. I am so excited I could just burst. I am so looking forward to the next 20 months of planning.

ALso, thanks to whoever mentioned Dana at micdan.com. She is wonderful. She gave me a rate which was great but about $30 over another rate I found. Even when she couldn't find where the difference was in their rates, she told me she would match the lower price. She was so friendly and warm, I could have talked to her all day. :p It was like finding a new friend.

Well, I'm off to read my Passporter's DCL book...again!:teeth:

Hi, Momm2four---I'm a mom2five!! I owe you a HUGE thanks!! I happened upon your post--we are in the process of booking our first ever cruise. I just booked w/ All Seasons Travel, & while they were very nice, I noticed you had booked through micdan (which I had never heard of), so I gave them a call. Dana saved me $111 & was so informative! Unfortunately, there was only one secret porthole room left (& as you know, that just won't due ;) ), but she did put us on the waitlist w/o me even asking. No one else offered to do that!

Anyway, we are really excited. We are going in Dec. for a 3 nighter, & then headed over to the BCV. The kids don't know about the cruise yet...we're going to try to surprise them with it. I don't know if I can stand it!! Are you doing any excursions?

Thanks again!!

I'm glad you were pleased with Dana's service and price. She kept giving me advice (much appreciated) since this is my first cruise. I even told her not to worry about the difference in the price since it was only $30, but she said "No, I want this to be perfect for you and I want you to be happy" (Boy, there are a lot of people who could take lessons from her on customer service. )

I haven't decided on the excusions yet. I think my DH and I would be just fine with staying on the ship and "playing". I'm sure we'll hit the beach at Castaway Cay, but as far as touring or taking any excusions, we probably won't do too much of that.

I would love to stay at Beach Club Villas. We are going to WDW for a few days before the cruise, and that is where I wish we could stay. The only way we could do that is to rent pts. and even then the cheap person in me would still want to rent a three bedroom house w/ a pool for lots less money, lol.

Are your five children boys or girls?

Hi, Lori! After I posted, I called to cancel w/ All Season's Travel, & now I'm glad I did...they were pleasant until I cancelled. She got pretty short w/ me and said she couldn't figure out where they were getting their prices, sure hoped it worked out the way I wanted it to (sort of an implication that it wouldn't???), blah, blah, blah. You know, I'm fairly easy to get along w/ & I wasn't rude. I guess I thought as part of business, you stayed professional. Oh well, just a point for my own future reference. Dana makes me feel really excited & she seems really knowledgeable!!

We love the BCV! We bought into DVC b/c we got tired of staying in connecting rooms & tried staying off property, but just didn't care for it. We will be there in June & my parents are coming, too, b/c my oldest is marching w/ her dance team on Main St. USA!! (BTW, 3 DD (14 1/2, 12 1/2, 10) & 2 DS (8, 4)) This will be my parent's 2nd trip--First ever was to BCV right after Christmas, 2002 & now they're hooked! It's pretty neat b/c I don't know if they ever would have gone if we didn't have the accomodations & we had a blast!

But, anyways, don't say there's a cheap person in there!! I like to think of it as being wonderfully frugal! :teeth: As a matter of fact, Dana just told me about the Disney Dining Card & in all our years of Disney, I never knew about it! Do you? If not, pm me & I'll give you the scoop. I fear this post is already much too long!

I'm still checking on excursions, but I think w/ it being our first cruise, we might just want to check Nassau out a bit & then head back to the ship. I think half the fun is just checking it all out!!

Have a great day!! ~Dardi:wave:

Congratulations! I booked my first cruise a few weeks ago and I used micdan.com as well! They have customer service down pat there! I requested the quote and the next morning Dana called me. She has been so friendly and so helpful and goes above and beyond without even being asked. I am very pleased with their service so far and anticipate that things will be wonderful all the way. They were highly recommended by someone else here and I have been nothing but impressed! :)
