We Got An Upgrade!

We booked a GTY11 in September for the March 6th Eastern, and got our room assignment today. It is Rm 1048 - Category 9 Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom. I am so excited. I understand it will be a double porthole with a split bath. It is on deck 1 so we shouldn't feel too much motion, and it is two floors below the nightclubs so it should not be too noisy.

I can't believe this is really happening. We are going on a Disney Cruise! I can hardly contain myself.

I think that booking a cat 11 gty late really must be the key to an upgrade. But, I don't think I will ever be able to do that for 2 reasons. first it takes me longer than a couple of months to save up the money for a cruise since I will not use credit cards or savings again. And second I really enjoy my porthole and split bath so if i really got stuck with an 11 I wouldn't be thrilled. I sure envy you though congratulations and have fun!

Little Twin Stars - We booked September 23 and paid the deposit on September 25th.

makaylee - For us we just wanted on the boat. We didn't care which room. We sailed Carnival 5 years ago and had a porthole. For the most part we didn't care about looking outside. But I agree - book what you would be happy cruising in because an upgrade is a rare occurrence.

We also booked in September and paid on Oct 1. My cruise is 7 days after yours

I booked our cruise on Oct. 22, 2003 for 11gty. We are doing the Disney Visa deal where first, you put the down payment and have 6 months to pay that with no interest. Then, when the rest is due, you charge the remaining amount and have 6 months with no interest to pay for that. I was wondering if anyone gets upgraded before final payment is paid?!? Oh, by the way, congratulations on your upgrade!

Mickeyboat....congrats on the upgrade....we stayed in that exact cabin (along with several others on either side of it..had a really large group) on one of our cruises and just loved the location!! So convenient to everthing!!!
