Just to add my 2 cents in~~~ I enjoyed our meal at Mamma Ms last summer. I ordered the Artisan breads and chicken parm. I would have loved this meal and left a very happy camper, if it hadnt been for 1 huge problem~ My little precious (2 at the time) wasnt in the mood to sit with us while we ate dinner (we couldnt tempt her with ANYTHING, not even ice cream And as we were about 3/4 through our entrees, she starts screaming like her head was on fire, than put her hand down her throat and made herself sick, right there at the table (she did this all within about 10 seconds) I was so embarassed, I picked her up, and ran out of there. Leaving DH and my best friend to have dessert and pay the bill. I was so frustrated, and so embarrassed, after I had her cleaned up, I didnt even go back inside. 30 Mins later, DH and my friend came out with the stroller and a dessert for me, but I had so lost my appetite, I was stressed out for the rest of the night I would like to go back there on my next trip in 2010, but with only 1 day at DHS, and PT50s being an all time fave of mine, its going to be a tough call

oh no i cant believe she did that! hopefully in a couple years she will eb better behaved there are SO many awesome palces to eat at MM, even if the service ahd been fine, the food wasn't that great and there are other palces with AMAZING food to try! good luck!

A side note on the lobster from Narcos....however u spell it. The lobster was good, not just ok I just wanted MORE I liked the steak too, but i dont often get to have lobster so i think next time ill just get the whole "stan."

The tax should be set by the county that it is in. It is that was here in SC anyway.
By the way your pics made DH decide that we should add Narcoose's to our anniversary trip next year. He LOVES lobster and steak.

Ok folks its the moment you have all been waiting for! Now, cut me some slack, it may not be to the dollar, so please dont post something saying my numbers were off...thats just not cool ok? ok! SO here we go!!! first, a few things to keep in mind

1.) This is the OLD DINING PLAN. which means appetizer, and tip is figured in. I will show numbers both ways, but just keep that in mind

2.) we generally ordered a very expensive menu item if not THE most expensive. We don't eat out at expensive places, so getting the chance to have steak/lobster etc. was a big deal to us.

OK so here we go. First, I totalled up all the Table service meals, Counter service meals, and snacks seperately. So for the whole trip, this is what we spent on each:

TS: $608.66
CS: $150.57
Snack: $40.03

TOTAL that would have spent if paying OOP, including tax and tip: $1004.42

then I took that number, divied it by 7 nights, then divied it by two (for two people) and it came out to $71.70 dollars per person per day.
the dining plan was 38 (i believe) dollars a perosn a day, so that means a savings of $33.7 dollars a day, so basically we came very close to doubling the cost of the DP per person per day. Thats pretty darn good if you ask me!

more numbers. if you JUSt add up the food and the tax, it came out to $851.21 for the trip. divided by 7, then by 2 for two people, it comes to $57.09 per person per day. This means per person per day there was a savings of $19.09 dollars, so for two people, it is $38.18 of savings a day, so basically a savings of one adult Dining Plan ticket per day.

another thing to remember is the new plan has appetizers which average between 5 and 10 dollars. so you have to subtract that out from the total saved since it isn't on the plan this year. even with 13 dollars subtracted out for appetizers for two people for a day, you still save approx. $25.00 dollars a day.

We look at it as being able to go on vacation, not carry cash around to meals, and not worrying about the price of food and ordering whatever we want. we are doing the deluxe plan in september so we can get appetizers, and more food. so i will have another report after that, it will be interesting to see the numbers on the deluxe plan.

It is still not for us at this stage of the game since our kids still are ride crazy commandos in the park and planning ahead to make convenient ADRs would be too much of a strain (now if we could just buy it for DW and I and not have to include the kids.....) but we might definitely consider it in future trips thanks to your info.

We will probably be able to squeeze in 2 or 3 sitdown meals in our upcoming 9 day trip and you gave us some good ideas of things to try that looked so good. Thanks again for taking the time to give us such a great report.
