We found a Pearl amongst the chaos..people don’t follow the rules..February 8-16th

Yeah, the non turning turning restaurant would be a big disappointment. To me that's part of the meal cost. You have the food, the characters and the uniqueness of a restaurant that turns.


I'm not very tech savy, but what was that app with the steps, calories.etc. ? I've don't think I've seen one with all that information.

So once again up early...down to the Marketplace by 6:00 am. I really enjoy the early morning peace of sitting out by the water...having a cup of coffee while the sun comes up...

DS is once again off and running...had to go back to rental car to exchange vehicles...and Pick up his 2 daughters who were flying in with their mom...who then in turn took the next flight back to Boston..

im so happy that they make things work for the girls sake...

so DIL and C and M head over to breakfast..we still dint tell them who they are going to meet..

we really enjoyed this. Breakfast was good ..characters were great.


M was thrilled as Rapunzel is her favorite..she loves the characters as long as they look like real people..anything else. Not a fan

Flynn was awesome..C remembered to ask Flynn what was in his bag. And he showed him the princess crown...I guess I didn’t get a pic of that. I was so excited for C.
well I take that back. I guess M wasn’t quite the fan..

after breakfast we head over to MK to wait for DS, K and R
and finally



there here...well almost...DS parked at GF and they took the monorail over..


by this time its around noon. We had FP for POC...buzz and Winnie
i guess I didn’t take as many pics as I thought. We also squeezed in lunch..








I see it my notes we did SW and dumbo. Not sure where pics are..
kids want a snack so we got to refill the popcorn bucket...and this is where the second part of my title comes in...

since my grands were able to understand I have 2 rules when we are out in public...somehow along the way R added one.
1. Be respectful
2. Personal space
3.. R added be kind...nice rule so we keep it.

well I must say on this trip ..a lot of people “don’t follow the rules”
we went to refill bucket..and there was a lady and child there who didn’t understand between bucket refills ect..so we were explaining..a lady behind both of us pushes through with her bucket to refill
well R yells out. That lady is “not following the rules”
which sort of became a theme...not sure if because of that..bit I was truly surprised on how rude people are...
and so thankful that my Grands at least try to follow the rules

at this point we are all slightly cranky. So we head to GF to get van which DS had valet..I was checking out of DS 2 Bed villa into my 1 bed villa at BC.

now first think that morning I went to front desk to check on my reservation..I had requested a 2nd floor room as my DH did not come again last minute (this happened last year too) and to be honest I was a little scared being by myself (I guess no solo trips for me)
we have been married 41 years and up until last year have never gone away on vacation separately ..but last year DS2 and I were on same floor 2 rooms apart

so as I said. The front desk girl said I have you on second floor..but I see your son is on 1st floor ..would you like that....I say. If you can put me on same corridor as him that’s fine...if not I will keep my 2nd floor room.
she said okay. I gave her my cell to text. Or call.

so now we went about our busy day...got back after 4:00 and had ADR for tonight for 7:15

we get back to BC I got to the front desk and they tell me my room is on first floor 174. Now DS is in 101 ..that doesn’t sound close to me... I explain how at 7:00 am I said I would keep 2nd floor room if not on same hallway...she looked at notes and said the girl from the morning tried to call me and there was no answer (I did not have any missed calls). to see what I wanted to do..so put me in 174
okay. so apparently no other rooms available..so off to 174 I go..
DS brings my luggage and says well at least your near an exit door to get right outside to car ect...we go check it out. And the outs door that you need a MB to get into was broken

so anyone can get in to a back corridor..well not going to lie. I am freaked out...DS thinks I am silly ..that anyone can get in through front lobby. (Was that supposed to make me feel safer?)

after he g
leaves to get ready. I go back to front desk to tell them about the broken outside door..I then embarrassingly start to cry..I truly in my head did not feel safe...and no I cried softly..no scene or chaos..just one upset almost 60 year old grandmother and asked to please be moved. I felt bad the girl was very nice ..and said she couldn’t move me today. But could tomorrow..

so I go back to room. Latch the lock and proceed to call DH at home (who has no idea what is going on ) and blame him for this...”I said if you had come. I would not have been alone and afraid...looking back I feel bad. I said that but I was so nervous.

DS came back ..maintenance was at the back door ..we go out to talk to him..he says. It needs a whole new door. And can’t be fixed yet. And he has put in that request before..
so totally upset now..
DS said just stay in our room tonight and change rooms tomorrow..
so that’s what I did..
we got ready for our ADR...which was so fun..helped my spirits out..
what did we choose..

wow I must say I just read my previous post. And I want to apologize for my rant. Yikes. I guess it really did upset me..

onto Wilderness lodge we go...I have never been there ..it was so beautiful.
we had about a 15-20 minute wait..so my DS and DIL went into the lounge for a drink...I kept K,R,and C with me and we did the scavenger hunt they had in the lobby to find hidden mickeys

the lobby is beautiful





This kept them amused until our table was called

this character dinner had to be our favorite
Not food wise which is no reflection on the restaurant..we are just not foodies. And think for a character meal with kids food should be simpler...but we still had a great time. And would go again...



We liked the kids appetizer better than ours

onto lodge we go...I have never been there ..it was so beautiful.

I read your pre-trip report and you really had a lot of changes to deal with. We love the Beach Club and have stayed in a 2 br villa three times with adult children and grandchildren. It was great. We also had a trip with an unhappy daughter-in-law and it was very uncomfortable. It is more fun to have happy people.
Thanks for joining in. BC is really beautiful and such great access to EP and HS. It is hard to go as a group. But overall it ends up fine

Tuesday February 11
i am up once Again very early...down to the Marketplace for coffee and cinnamon coffee cake...went out side for my daily sunrise..a bit foggy. ..but so peaceful.








anyone with kids know how hectic getting everyone ready...they didn’t need me in the way..when we get back later to BC I will check into a different room ..so off I go to AK
i will meet up with the family when they get there.
Got there before rope drop...we got let in. A bunch were heading to FOP ...as we had FP I didn’t need to worry about that...
I have never walked through Gorill Falks ..so I wandered over...I truly enjoyed that...

when family arrived we headed to our FP for the safari...
this never disappoints..



After this pic R wanted to take pics...so I gave her my phone...well...every pic has my DS forearm in them ...so no more pics...

then off to Its tough to be a bug...which M and C hated. M cried so much that DIL had to leave with them...chaos. Again



then finding Nemo the musical


Next up FOP ..DS, DIL and K went on ..I stayed with the littles.






The family was deciding on lunch. But I knew where I wanted to go. So we separated and I got to try Satu’li Canteen. Which did not disappoint
I would definitely go here again

After lunch the grands wanted to leave. (What ) ...we need to forge on. We haven’t done dinosau or Navi river..but this trip was for them...and the littles were tired...so we left...

Did we ever get back to do Navi....lion king. Dinosaur...?

back to the BC we go...family heads to the pool...I head to the front desk to get the room number to my next room. Ugh. Well I must say ..this room was great. I was on second floor. Not far from elevator ...had a huge balcony (silly for one person) but okay. I’ll take it










The kids had a blast in Stromalong bay...it really is a nice pool...and we all needed a little break ..

We had an early ADR at Tratttoria al Forno
(Yes. We had just eaten there after our coral reef disaster) but we decided to go anyways and do pizza and salads. Which was fine with me...
Then off to EP. we had a FP for Frozen and Spaceship earth.






we also did Finding Nemo. Again.
We walk back to watch the fireworks and chaos ensues. And by that I mean M starts crying hysterically then C started. Are you kidding me
So if you saw a family running out of EP like there was a fire. Well. Just us

once again up before 6:00. My usual coffee run to the Marketplace then off to breakfast

we had an early morning ADR at Cape May for a character breakfast..

since M does not like any of the costumed character, DIL decided they wouldn’t join in the breakfast...as M would just be miserable.

so me, DS and K, R and C went down..(nice to just walk down in same hotel)..



I keep forgetting to mention how after seeing this idea on another TR on the Dis board..I got them this book...now a little heavy to carry. But so much simpler than having 4 different autograph books ..we loved it...
