We found a Pearl amongst the chaos..people don’t follow the rules..February 8-16th

welcome to my trip report...I started it on the PTR page by mistake...so restarting it here. Hope you join in.
3 hotels. Lots of ADR changes. And basically.. nothing went as planned.
how does this happen. When you start planning 6 months out

This is us....DS1,Dil1, and 4 out of my 7 grandkids
For this report. They are K,R,C, and M
We originally thought DS2 and family might come with, we even had hotel booked for them..but sadly they chose not to...and my DH is still not well so once again did not come.

So let’s begin...I am a VoVo (that’s Portuguese) for grandmother.
my traveling companions..son Tom and wife Kenzie and their 4 kids ...ages 2-11.
Son is a DVC member so theur plan has always been to stay at the Beachclub...he booked 7 months out...at that time I wasn’t sure if I would go again..as we just went in January 2019..(who am I kidding)..so a month later I looked into booking.

At this time the price was high for BC so I booked the Swan and Dolphin


Then of course as we all do ..kept checking for deals..
then I found a really great deal at The Boardwalk studio villa on Expedia..so I booked that...

so I now have 2 rooms booked...so I keep both and hope DS2 and family would change their minds and come with us...DIL2 is not the Disney fan that we are and said she didn’t want to come with us...I was so disappointed...felt bad my GS1 would miss it..but I held out hopes and didn’t cancel S&D till December..

this was last year...how could they not come aga...don’t they look happy.

so finally the day is here ...after 6 long months of planning....changes ...we are ready to go
We had a late night flight from Boston Logan
I had to work 1/2 a day. And could not wait to get out of there.
I still needed to pack. Ugh
But finally we are ready to go

A friend drove us to the airport. Surprisingly no traffic for a Friday night..we got there in no time. Checked our bags and we all had PSA pre Check. No sure how that happened..breezed through security...
we had dinner at Walhburgers...didn’t spot Donnie or Mark

we board a little late ..but not to bad...until the pilot says. We could have an issue here folks: we are close to our time limit per the rules..if we don’t get out in the next 15 minutes..we will have to change crews. And that will be like a 2-4 hours deals. What. Are you kidding me.

5 minutes later he says. And I quote “ we are going to give it the old college try”. Not something you hear every day from your pilot..but whatever works..

he said we can do this fast. they are getting us ready for runway..we got to move..
I have never backed out of a gateway that fast in my life...
but we made it

We finally arrive...about an hour late...so now it’s past midnight...
I could not sleep at all on the plane ...
DS fell asleep before we even took off

Off to the fake o rail...DS went to get the rental car while DIL and I go to get the bags..so here we are tired..2 kids...stroller. Luggage and have to schlep back to other side where DS is...we go all the way back...and guess..car is back on the side where we just came from...great start. Hence Chaos...

And the chaos continues..so we finally get the car and head to our hotel for the night ( well a few hours actually)...we booked the Sheraton Vistana...we get there DS goes in ..and comes out...WRONG Sheraton Vistana..are you kidding me..
we finally get to hotel after 2:15 am. But excited because in a few hours we will be at Disney and the Beachclub

Me and DS are up by 6:00.
DS went to the Beach Club at 7:00 to check in...they must have thought he was nuts..
he was back by 8:00...
Come on all ready get up..but we knew the “littles“ needed sleep...finally by 8:30
they got up...and off we go...
a little while later. Here we are

Well the longest line we had all week was the the one at guest services...the magic bands were not working...almost a 55 minute wait...with 3 overtired alders and 2 very overtired littles...but as it turned out. It was worth the wait....
when we finally got our turn. The girl said..with what you paid for the 8 day park hopper and the memory maker...being DVC you can upgrade to annual pass for no extra money. So whooo hooo


so now DS and DIL and I all annual pass holders...now I know it has blackout dates
but we would go those days anyways.
so we head to our first FP ...meet and great with Rapunzel..which C&M loved

Day 1 ..Saturday continued...
after the meet and greet it was into
Peter Pan..

then Dumbo


then the carousel..

We've done that 'right hotel name, wrong address' thing after coming in on the late flight too. It stinks in that moment but faded into the background once the real fun began.

then onto a small world ..and M’s name made it on the name board


we had lunch. Which I can’t remember where. then we got the text that our room was ready
so onto the Beach Club we go...we did quite a bit in that short of a time..

then our home for the next 7 days

we are home...grab all the luggage and head straight to the room...where as sure you can guess. The magic band is not ope the door...so DS has to go to the front and get them fixed. Ugh..but we are here ...


I am here for 2 nights until K & R get here...if anyone followed my PTR ..the oldest 2 could not come until Monday..they had a cheerleading competition in RI..and their mom would not let them miss...(divorce Is hard...but you make it work)...

I didn’t have to pay any extra. DS and DIL did. But not that much.
