We didn't get our referral credit from the Magic.

We should have gotten a referral credit while on our cruise to Tortola in Sept. 2009. We don't remember the last name of the family that purchased and used us as a referral, we only have a first name and state. I am wondering if they can look up the purchases from that cruise to see if we should have gotten the credit? There was a guide on our cruise that was an older gentleman that ran the presentations with a another lady. I was wondering if anyone knows his name? He is the person who took care of this because he had to specifically ask us our names and member number. What should I do?

When I used a referral source last year for our purchase. I gave the Guide her name and where I thought she lived. He looked her up in the computer and gave me the name of the next town and I said "that's it". So he was able to look it up instantly. I had not spoken to the person in about 4years but we used her name and it worked....it paid of for her, too. Several months ago I received an email out of the blue from her about something other than DVC. When I replied back I asked if she had gotten the referral gift and she had. See all that talk she did 4 years ago paid off...

I would call and speak to your Guide as a start.

My guide was able to look up referrals for me when I had a question about one of them.

He pulled up my name and told me what he had. There was a glitch and for some reason, things were not processed correctly. He worked with the people in charge of the program to get it done and I received my reward within a few weeks.

It seems like there are alot of glitches when it comes to recieving the referral credit. I had to call on several different occassions for my referral credit and for the person who referred me as well. Hmmmmm I am sensing a pattern here.

at least you guys or the people who refer you can get rewards....in Ontario, it's against the law, so the couple who refered us got nada....except some ice cream.....

Your guide should be able to look up the information hopefully. We too had a glitch recently, but I knew the folks who used our referral, so was easy to sort out. Seems since we were CMs when the contract was purchased, it made us null and void to incentives, but since we added on 5 times while not a CM, that made us eligible. The purchasing guide saw the first (master) contract and never processed the incentive. My guide was great and figured out the problem and I got the incentive within days of sorting it out. Please post back the outcome. Trying to find someone with the first name only should be interesting! Good luck.

We know the person's first name, the state they are from, what day the initiated the sale and where they purchased at. Hopefully that will be enough. I would think they could look at all sales for that resort from that date on the Magic. Shouldn't be to hard, right?

No, and if they did indeed input you as the referring member, your guide will have access to it.

Did you get a letter thanking you for a referral? Every time someone has used our name, we got a letter, even when they did not buy.

Referrals do get a bit touchy...

my family has influenced 4 DVC purchases

We received credit for 1

Did not receive credit for 3 others - 2 had already toured, but named us at signing - and the last didnt remember to drop our name

but on the flip side, we did receive credit for someone we do not know - maybe Mouse-Karma paid us back?

Finally heard back from our guide. He said he didn't think there was much we could do unless we had the guides name that did the sale. I have been trying to track this guys name down. You would think they could just look on the schedule and see who was on the ship that departed Sept. 12? We have the gentleman's first name who made the purchase and the state they are from. I know for a fact that this family gave the guide our referral card. Getting your referral shouldn't be this hard!
