Tonight my wife and I discussed the advantages and disadvantages and decided to go for it! We put the initial deposit on 160 points at SSR. We are excited about our future vacations HOME! Our guide, Robin, went over some of the details including a disclaimer that if they expand the monorail, it is slated to go through SSR! This caught me by surprise. We may be in a monorail resort some day way, way, way in the future! Would be nice. Now, I can't wait to start planning our first trip home.

Welcome home as everyone says.

We bought into SSR last month and was told the same thing about the monorail. However we were also told that idea had since been tossed due to the costs but might be brought up again in the future.

Personally I would think it would be highly unlikely they ever run the monorail down that far. To my knowledge they once discussed taking it on to MGM but decided against that to the cost and that is fairly close to Epcot.

Hi,

Congrats & welcome home!!! Expanding the monorail would be nice.

Congratulations on a great decision for your family for years to come!

And soon....you'll hear the words...WELCOME HOME!!

Welcome Home!!!

the monrail to SSR - this does not make sense -

to stop people parking at DD and taken the buses to the theme parks - only the WDW resort hotel buses now can stop at DD.

so after you parked your car you would need to get on a WDW resort bus then transfer at the hotel to a theme park bus - same coming back.

Now even I can walk from DD to SSR - it is not a long walk at all - so how could they stop people from parking their cars and taking the monrail?

Welcome Home!

They could someday make a long monorail loop from epcot to mgm to coronado springs to blizzard beach to animal kingdom and back to carribean beach and downtown disney and saratoga springs and dixie landings and epcot. A big circle. And they could someday give us all real rocket rides to the moon, for that matter - I wouldn't count the days until the monorail if it was me, but the paper work does allow for it.

Congratulations on your decision. Who knows about the monorail. Anything is possible! Anything at all!
