Post your most memorable snow memories.
1967: Similar to the event that happened earlier this week. I was working in Boston. It had started to snow in the early afternoon and when it hit the ground, it turned to ice. They let us out of work around 3:30 p.m. I got home at 11 p.m. Normally the drive was 45 minutes. Some of my co-workers slept at work on their desks.
February, 1969 (I think): We had not one, not two but three major snow storms in a 5 day span. During one of the storms we got snowed in and my father had to go out the cellar window because our doors were blocked.
1978: The great blizzard of '78. We had over 20 inches of snow on the ground when it hit (I was living in Plymouth, MA at the time). Nobody left their house for a week.
1997: The April Fools Day Blizzard. The joke was on us. Nearly 30 inches of snow in 24 hours. What a mess! This was another time we had trouble getting out the front door.
