We Came. We Saw. We Ate Deluxe! Updated - Cape May Cafe - Breakfast

I want to cry reading this. I want that pizza so badly. Waiting for May! :/
May will be here before you know it!! Enjoy ever bit!

Okay, just added Coral Reef to the list. It is somewhere I've ALWAYS wanted to eat and I see on the lunch menu they have some non-seafood options like chicken caesar salad and the steak you mentioned!

Love the Via Napoli review, that is on our list as well. Thank you for more wonderful photos and I really appreciate your opinions.
Let me know how your Coral Reef experience is. I really don;t think you'll be disappointed. And I wasn't sure if I should post my opinions or not. So thanks for mentioning that.

Holy smokes that pizza looks good!!:woohoo:

Terri
And holy smokes did it taste good!

That pizza looks so good! I could totally go for some right now!
Me too!!

Yum that all looks delish! I am so happy we decided to make a reservation for Via Napola for our trip in May! Can't wait!
You won't regret it!! Enjoy your trip and pizza!

great job...looking forward to some more! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for following along. =)

Great reviews so far. We had a great meal at Coral Reef in December. Trying to talk my husband into dinner at Via. I might have to show him your pizza pic - that might do it.
How could he say not to that picture!?! ha-ha:rotfl2:

Really enjoying your review.

Looking forward to more:thumbsup2
Thanks so much! =)

Oh, Via Napoli!! :worship:
We'd give it an 11! Your review made me long to be back there!

We agree also about Coral Reef. We had a lovely meal there a few years ago and would return in a heartbeat! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food and service, at least on the day we were there, were great!
Yeah I gave some 10's, but my Mom won't give a 10!! She's too funny.

Great pictures, love the reviews. Haven't eaten at Coral in years, your review and pictures has convinced me to try it next trip. Via Napoli always a favorite, we love the appetizer platter with the calamari, arancini, tempura style veggies, and mozzarella etc. Had dinner at BOG, I had the shrimp/scallops as well and next time would probably try the pork which my son had or the steak! Looking forward to what's coming up!
Yeah I am always tempted by that appetizer but then I would get as much calamari! :rotfl:

Great reviews!

Akershus is a nice choice for bkfst at Epcot -- totally agree there!

Coral Reef -- we also had a great experience there in mid Dec ;)

VN -- love, love this place!!

Sorry to hear BOG had a few kinks they needed to still work out.

Off topic, but I see that you have a ticker for ToT weekend. Are you doing the 10 miler too? I just registered for that this morning.
So glad to see others having a heat experience at Coral Reef! As for the ToT ... I am going to only do the 5K but my best friend is running the 10 miler ... I'll be the one at the finish line holding the Via Napoli pizza for her! LOL!! And good luck to you!! That's awesome. =)

very much enjoying your reviews, so thank you :)

Really appreciate that you rate whether you would pay OOP for a meal or not as a) that is a good way to rate if you think it was worth your time or not abnd b) we usually do OOP because we like to split appetizers and alcohol is usually a pretty big component anyway ;)

I never thought I would want to hit up Via Napoli (we are from NY and just figure there are so many options other than Pizza at WDW) but there are so many good looking things there I have seen in various review we might have to hit it up
Good Lord those drinks add up fast don't they!?! You really have to be ready for that bill at the end of your meal! Yikes. And I have to tell ya ... I never thought I'd go to Via Napoli either ... It's just pizza right? I was with my best friend and her family on a Disney trip the month VN opened. I wasn;t going to waste my time standing in line for pizza. Well they did and happened to bring me a piece they had leftover .. her text to me was, "Meet me in Italy and bring napkins and a beer!". Been going there on every trip since.

I am loving your reviews! Oh my word that pizza looks incredible!!!:thumbsup2
Oh I am so glad you like the reviews!! Thanks for reading along.

Jumping on board, love your review and pics so far!!!:thumbsup2
So glad you joined in. =)

Hi

I'm looking forward to the Cape May dinner review because my husband really wants to eat there! We enjoyed our last breakfast there a few years ago so I hope it's still good!

Let’s face it. When it comes to character breakfast buffets at Disney there are plenty to choose from. Some of us decide because of which characters will be there or because of logistics or because of a certain food item is available at one and not the other. Staying at Beach Club it is pretty much a no-brainer to eat at Cape May but even when we don’t stay there, we always hit up this place. I don’t know what it is about this buffet, but it is so less chaotic then the others. Chef Mickeys for me is just too much in the morning, so loud and crowded. Cape May is nothing like that. I find it very laid back and enjoyable. I have eaten here with and without children along and the character interaction is great regardless. And how cute are they dressed in their beach gear?! Ha-ha Every time the food has been great. Never tastes like it has been sitting around. Dishes are constantly being swapped out and re-filled with fresh ones. To prove it I have some pictures to share with you. =)

Whew! Sorry if that it picture overload! I hit all sides of the buffet perfectly when no one else was there. ha-ha Gotta love that for taking pictures. The buffet is essentially configured like a big square and all four sides have food selections and plate stations at each corner. This trip is still our favorite character buffet. I think it is kind of a little gem in some ways. It doesn't get the hype of Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace but is worth the stop.

Taking the food, the service and environment into consideration we gave Cape May Buffet a 9. Our bill was $53.23 without tip. It's hard for me to justify paying for any buffet OOP. I think if you are paying OOP I would only pick one character meal breakfast because if you did this everyday OOP for a week (for a family even), adding all that up = a lot of money and a lot of wasted food. But I think that way because I enjoy a quick counter service breakfast as I do a buffet. Oh and the French Toast Casserole is to die for. ;)

Thank you for the great pictures of Cape May! Just booked our ADR there based on reading this review :goodvibes We did Chef Mickey's last year and like you said, it is just TOO much of everything (too loud, too expensive, too busy).

Question--would it be rude or frowned upon if I were to take a few pieces of bread or a banana, etc in a ziploc bag for my kids to snack on later in the day? I know that my 3 year old will not eat much for breakfast but since we are paying for him to eat I want to try to grab some things for later :)

Once again, the Via Napoli pizza looks soooo good! DD and I were supposed to eat there in January, but she got sick and we missed out. I was so sad she got sick...and so sad we missed VN pizza. :upsidedow It will be a must do again sometime in the future!

I have fond memories of our Cape May meals. Looks good~

Thanks so much for sharing!

I'm loving everything. We are planning to book the Princess Dinner at Akershus and Cape May. We wanted to try Coral Reef, but it has received so many bad reviews, I was afraid to waste a TS on it. We have 2 girls who will be 6 and 9 yrs old at the time we go in November and they absolutely LOVE anything having to do with aquariums. They both have their own aquariums in their rooms, so I might just have to try it based on your review.

We also had planned to BOG, hoping by November, they get their act together and are more consistent.

Thanks again for all the amazing reviews.:thumbsup2

Great to see a positive review of Coral Reef -- we have an ADR there in June and I was a little nervous :)
